Thanks for taking the time to do this, it had to be pretty time consuming! It concreted my preference of ELFX, it just has that warm fantasy vibe I'm looking for!
lux is a great mod but I noticed that when I had it in mine LO, instead of playing, I was constantly adjusting the settings to see anything in the interior.
Its a good mod you just have to have the right setup for it. Also the patience for all the patches lol
I have tried a lot of them and found ELFX Hardcore to to be my favorite. I always test the buildings in whiterun. The inns the temple and the keep. Its the window shadows that keep me coming back to ELFX. Thanks for the vid.
On series X. This was super helpful and saved me a lot of time and aggro trying to document for myself to compare. Really wanted Elfx shadows to work out for me for the smoke effects and light rays but I just couldn't stand the flickering. I used Divine interiors in the past but realised I didn't appreciate the things it did to dungeons and that it wouldn't play nice with anything else.
Eventually settled on window lights + relighting skyrim & FX (with patch) for the majority and ELE for some flavour and warmth to the interior lighting.
Cool video! Really shows off the differences. You pulled together something great! However, I have fairly poor vision. So, you just proved to me that Vanilla is the best for my play thru experience. Thank you. 💚
ambiance or luminosity with relighting skyrim is my favorite
Great video, thanks. I’ve been looking to change my interior lighting. Great job!
Thank you!
Window Shadows, Divine Interiors and Tenebrous are some I'll look into. Thanks for taking the time to set this up. All the mods looked good. I like a more fantasy feel with Skyrim but I absolutely love even more in any game to see good lighting proper shadows etc
Everyone these seems to have this big LUX boner. I personally don't really like LUX. It far too dark, unrealistically dark. I mean the light sources hardly give off any light. There is also the issue that it needs a resource file, master file and a damn near a whole load order worth of patches.
Yeah it requires quite a bit to work and I've honestly never felt it was the best however with right mods it can look good however I'm a more simple kind of guy just give me Relighting Skyrim with ELE and Haze lights cast shadows and I'm good
Well, Lux is definitely not setup properly in the video. The mod itself isn't really that dark, and this video just shows how much of a mess the load order is.
Your videos are really the best to see the difference between xbox mods and make your own decisions. They really help a lot thanks for your work and keep the vids coming
I've decided to try Divine interior. Switch from Elfx Shadows. I used Lux, RLO, RS, WS, but nothing compares to Divine Interiors. It really is Divine. Give it a try
Also thanks for this video its exactly what i was looking for im gonna give a couple watches and figure out which one im gonna go with
I'll be referring back to this video for my next LO. I've been using Tenebrous for ages now. The only two in this comparison I've never used is LUX and Divine. Great video. Very helpful 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No problem!
Hey I was actually wondering if you ever plan on uploading a water mod comparison. So things like Cathedral smooth transparent water, Dawn Water, Elden Water, Pieces Water, Smooth Water, Dark & Arcane Water, RW2, and etc. It would be amazing if you could do that considering there isn't many comparisons of the Xbox water mods that aren't available on Nexus
Mhmm, that sounds interesting. I would have never thought about doing that. I'll look into that soon.
Amazing video, thank you for the lighting comparison
You're welcome! I told you I would get to it eventually, lol
Do you know if window shadows is compatible with interior lighting and fx? And if tenebrous is compatible with jk interiors aio and jk skyrim and lux via?
@Chris-2001 Yes to the first question, those two will work fine together, just overwrite windows shadows with interior lighting & FX. For the second question, I don't think it's compatible with JK'S Interiors, but it should be fine with the other two
Well done. In my own experience, for the best Dwemer dungeons I combined ELE with Window Shadows. This made Dwemer dungeons look SO good that I actually started going into them again just to see the light and shadow effects. The combo wasn't as successful elsewhere, but still good. I also find that Divine Interiors: Shadows and Light is a great choice for dramatic, fantasy style lighting as it adds the Candle Glare and smoke effects to candles, and keeps dungeons/barrows/caves pretty dark.
Can you combine windows shadows with divine? If so I may try that out instead of ELFX
That's a good combo. I like running Relighting Skyrim with ELE as I like the more simple approach 👌 though that candle glare mod sounds like a good idea 💡 👍
@mattdean7461 not really. You can probably use the WS module with Divine, though, just not the regular one.
Thank you.
Your welcome
Its amazing how well elfx hold's up given its age and I still wanna use it but certain areas just start to miss walls and floors which really breaks the flow of it all
Might switch to divine interiors that looks good
Lux needs a proper ENB setup in order to look right. I use Cabbage ENB with it and the interiors are nowhere near this dark.
I'm sure on PC it looks better all around, but this comparison was just to show it barebones on console where enbs aren't a thing.
How dark can we make it?
Lux: Yes
Lol
A combination I've been very happy with is Skyrim Is Luminous with ELE Refurbished on top. Everything is just right.
sounds like a good combo
@BeyondSkylines
I'm on Xbox One S Seems to have always been strongly supported by mod creators.
Your channel definitely gets a Shout Out in a popular Xbox Live Skyrim club that I'm one of the owners.
Oh wow, thanks. I'm glad to hear that! I hope the content helps.
Elfx looks really good i hear lux is best but the interiors look pitch black in alot of areas can display enhancement mod fix that? I know elfx hasnt been updated in awhile but that looks alot more balanced in lighting
I know. I have no idea why people want a pitch black game after spending so much time on graphics you can now not see lol.
Why the one I loved the most ele doesn't exist anymore I'm sad
If you're on Xbox, it definitely still exists. However, if you're on PC, apparently, it doesn't anymore, which is unfortunate
If you do this again, may I suggest about two seconds longer for each setting? I'm constantly pausing your video.
Fair enough
Just play in 0.5x 🤷
I dont understand how peopele play with these pitch black ones lol. Im using relighting+luminosity and i still need to use candlelight to see some things
Yeah, I guess people like the darkness of some of those mods. I Iditarod run relighting with ele or luminosity depending on the weather mod I'm using, so I definitely get you.
Definitely lux and elfx shadows for the win in my opinion! I usually stick with ELFX shadows just because it’s a little cheaper and doesn’t have a ton of patches but I will admit I think Lux overall does look the best
That's fair LUX has so many patches haha its ridiculous 🤣
@@beyondskylines5068 lmao for real!! That’s why I never really use it because half the load order is patches especially if you pair it with northern roads 😂
