Thank you for going through this from the start. It's helpful to have a reference to check you have everything in place, as I'm sure the greatest majority of us are not professional modders or coders. I would like to point out a different starting mod, "Alternate Perspective". I like this mod as it is much closer to the vanilla game. I've run the start on 4 occasions and it's been solid. No crashes. The only issue I had with it was when I caused a conflict with meshes from another mod. Which is in general the bane of my modding life and I've learnt not to download AiO as you can't control versions for patches with other mods. As soon as you get to describing how to create a patch I'll watch that guide over and over again, pin it, stick it in my bookmarks and use it.
Love this series and how easy it is to understand every little detail to modding Skyrim! Will you by any chance be uploading a tutorial video for any ENBs or lighting overhauls for Skyrim? I always found those tricky and confusing, as well as Dyndolod
Great job putting these videos together. I could be wrong but rather than restarting MO2 as you do towards the end, I think you can just hit F5 to refresh the list. Tends to work for me at least.
I decided to do a clean install because I wanted to reorganize things in my mod list since I plan on maybe making some custom player homes and custom outfits. Anyway, I got to this point and Nemesis either kept going through a cycle of needing engine updates due to changes in files for mods I didn't even have the box for the patch ticked or have that mod installed or just gave errors for mods I wasn't planning on using but if I got rid of that mod folder in Nemesis it be a different folder coming up with the issue. So I guess I'll see how Pandora goes.
Thanks for these videos. I was just starting to get into building a new Skyrim mod list. Though I'm wary of Cutting Room Floor and Weapons Armor and Clothing fix. They often require an outrageous number of patches depending on how you mod your game.
I was having issues with: XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended - XPMSSE I had to turn "Adult Content" by hovering over pfp in the top right > site preferences > content blocking and it was the first setting there. Hope this helps if anyone else has this issue.
hey thanks for the guide, never used mod manager 2 this really helps. wanted to ask if nemesis and/or this guide would be somewhat compatible with skyrim together
I noticed you didnt mention Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer since that also requires some setting up and personally i dont know of a single player who doesnt grab it
Thank you so much for your motivational words. Really means the world to me! I believe I have managed it before and am looking into it again for the most recent update. If I can get it working it will be covered in this series :)
Omg!!! Just bought the anniversary edition...hope to have a great experience with the mods too!! Two little this.. Didnt find the fnis plugin and My cutting room didn't got purple but, i've installed de patch anyway
When you sort, it'll tell you if there's a compatibility patch regardless, but you should be sorting often anyway to make sure your load order isn't going to crash on startup.
I'm sorry I must be missing something, but I follow the walkthroughs step by step. The first time I did it nothing worked, besides skse and the anniversary content picker, so I deleted everything and started over completely from scratch. Still, it does not work and there are steps that my mod organizer has that yours does not display or vice versa, also being on windows 11 it's hard to follow along because there are certain things that I have to jump through hoops to accomplish that you don't have to do because you're on windows 10 :(
I know how to do this, what I don't know how to do optimally is change the keyword of the weapons so that the animation corresponds. I know how to do it from the cration kit but it is very slow and tedious
Having a minor issue: there is no FNIS.ESP dummy plug in, any solutions? Love the tutorial video btw! very informative and straight to the point. PLUS details on how they work and load order is amazing thank you!!
Appreciate it thank you! Check Nemesis is enabled in mod pane click refresh on the toolbar across the top Ensure you’ve updated the engine and then launched
@ADHDecent I'm experiencing this issue as well. Not only that, but when I run Nemesis with the top 'Run' button in MO2, press Update Engine and Launch Nemesis Behavior Engine in the pop-up window, it says, "Changes in file detected. Engine update is required to be performed" after I clicked Update Engine, even after I clicked the refresh button on the top toolbar. That's why the FNIS.esp isn't showing up in the plugins. So why is Nemesis saying it hasn't been updated when I launch the behavior engine right after I update the engine? It even shows the same exact version code as your's. I followed your steps carefully. Is there anything I'm missing?
@@davisharper6704 Not sure if you were able to fix it, but I found a reddit post that by changing "Project New Reign - Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine" to Nemesis in MO2 caused the Engine to properly update and fixed the issue for me.
Thank you ADHDecent this is one of, if not, the best modding video yet. I recently down loaded Skyrim SE and it had just had an update and the Project New Reign - Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine and XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended mods are nor catagorised as 'Immersion' obviously I need to create a new separator, but do you know where in the sequence it should go? Many thanks mate. AJ
Many thanks for this tutorial. Everything I did worked just fine, can't wait to start proper modding ;). Quick question: I already had a save game, but now I've completed your steps I can't load my save game in-game anymore. Any idea why that is? Who can help me? :)
Appreciate your kind words thank you. Saved games may or may not work with new mod builds. When starting afresh always assume the previous saves cannot be used
Could you make a video showing how to get a controller to work with skse through mod orgainzer 2? my controller isnt working for the life of me orginazer
Cutting Room Floor no longer works for 1.5.97. I guess its AE only? It says missing masters like fish, etc. Is there a backup version for 1.5.97 some where?
2:28 plugins doesn't have Finisesp option.. Did everything exactly in the video has there been a new update or something for so that you don't need it? Edit: I ran Nemesis again it showed up.. phew
The finis tick box isn't even present after running nemesis and going into the plugins list... Is that a redundant or removed feature? because I can't find it anywhere in the plugins. Only the XPMSE esl and the race menu plug in stuff are there.
Solution is in the comments: @Hadrian9707 4 months ago Checking the boxes for RaceMenu and XP32 in the left column, then updating and launching Nemesis Engine again fixed this problem for me.
I had the same issue. I was trying to open nemisis from SKSE in mod organizer. make sureyou switch the drop down to nemesis and click the run button. Idk if this helps but it worked for me
What about what game version we should use and everything that goes along with it like downgrading and etc? Since the newest update has alot of people straight up quitting playing altogether.
@@ADHDecent Just a request for a possible future series or video in general since alot of the big mods haven’t been updated to this version. And some that probably never will. Alot if not most pc players seem to be playing on older versions.
Thank you! I was looking for modding guide for quite some time now but all I could find was outdates posts. But here's another question: does it work on already played saves? Or is there some way you could explain how to move exsisting saves into modded game?
Wish you explained the mods that are necessary and what they do vs. personal recommendations and mods that would be necessary only if you plan on doing certain things. You say install nemesis along with other mods but when I look at these on nexus I'm thinking I don't need this cus I don't plan on messing with animations or npc behaviors. Running a lower end PC so I'm trying to avoid anything I don't 100% need outside of the mods I do want.
It certainly looks promising. IIRC it wasn’t available or only on Patreon (something like that) when I began writing but whichever it was it meant it wouldn’t make the series this time around with enough time to test. Then we had 1170 which was trouble as it was anyway 😂. Provided its smooth sailing from here onwards (not error free just not painful) then it’ll be the one used from now on :-)
I'm not sure if some of these mods are outdated or if my computer is just trash lmao but I've followed your steps for 3 days straight and my game refuses to launch 😢
So how do you move items with drag and drop to new folders? My Nexus Mod tells me "...only supported when sorting by priority." Ok....how do I do that? I'll have to look it up. - EDIT: So I found someone on Steam who mentioned you can "In MO's left pane at the top, click on the Priority column." However, what the HELL is the MO's lef pane at the top? Nothing up there has a Priority column! Regardless: Quite accidentally, I discovered in my file pathway folder where I'm saving all of these files and folders, under "MO2 INSTANCES / Mods " is a list of all mods I've uploaded so far. Although a roundabout way of solving this, I realized I could just use your mod guidance and manually edit/copy edit/paste each folder and files in the folder you specify. It should do the same thing. - EDIT EDIT: So the above didn't work. However, something else did: 1. In MO2, go to your list of "Profile" mods (where we created the 1-21 different sections). Go all the way to the right column and click "Priority" at the top. This will reorder all of the items based on priority number. 2. The amazing thing about doing this? It'll FOR SOME REASON now allow you to manually move mods to new priority positions. You can either do this through right click a mod, send to, then priority. It'll let you type in a priority value. 3. OR....you can drag them to each location. 4. One important mistake I made (amongst many), is by putting those files in each folder on my computer, I effectively hidden them from MO2. Not sure why, but there you go. To fix this, I removed them from each folder again, went back in to MO2, and found them. From there, you can manually pick each up, and if you hover the mod OVER THE LABELED SUB CATEGORIES we made in this video, you can drop them in, and reorganize as you wish. I actually re-named the beginning of each of these folders to a number with respect to how they should be hierarchical compared to one another. So that kinda fixed it. I wish I knew definitely where the "priority" panel was, but I guess I don't need it. Oh well.
I member the days when I had to keep the .rar FIles of the mod to keep track of them ahhh.... Fun times. Btw, I still have a functionning Nmm Installation and I refuse to delete it, I spent too much time on it xD
Thank you for this video, I have been wanting to mod Skyrim for a long time now! When I download Nemesis it is missing everything under 'temp_behaviors', any idea why?
Isn’t Alternate start supposed to be at the bottom of the load order or it can be just below ussep? Will you also include mods that provide stability & crash fixes? Helpful tutorial btw I’ve been following it since part 1🎉
Thank you so much for your kind words I really appreciate you! And yes, technically. As we grow the mod list it will likely be moved down the list if/when we install mods that change the Helgen quest saga if you will. The load order will change as mods are applied. It’s why you won’t find any “this is the load order” style videos around. Because it really isn’t that simple sadly. But, it’s worth putting it up with the key game changes for now so we can keep track :-)

Hi I am doing this right now as of 1 february and the Cutting Room Floor is not highlighted to purple. Is there a possibility that the Arthmoor's Patch Pack is no longer required or is it just some mistake on my part ?
I noticed that for the All in one mod you installed the Anniversary edition instead of the Special edition which was available, is there a reason for that? Thanks,
Nemesis isn’t appearing in the executable toolbar when installed, Attempting to manually add it results in ‘exception caught. Directory couldn’t locate “mods\”.’
Love everything so far as it's helping me so much with getting modding down but I get to this point everytime and have issues loading the game with people t-posing. I have nothing else downloaded besides Racemenu, Nemesis and XP32. when I disable XP32 i'm able to play again. Any help?
This is incredible, thank you! One question. I do not get the FNIS.esp file. I've followed the instructions so far to an absolute T, so I'm hoping this is due to updated files and is no longer a necessary step?
At the moment it's too soon to be able to cover really as I cannot be sure of it's compatibility or reliability which sadly falls back on me when it goes wrong for viewers. It looks like it could be the new kid on the block though, I am curious why they're not on Nexus (not that I disagree with it if it's deliberate)
@@ADHDecent I completely understand. (I'm loving the videos by the way.) I just started modding again and in the past I've relied a lot on modlists, but I'm going to really take my time and build one that I can be happy with. Since I just got back into it, I heard of Pandora so I checked it out. Read some feedback from some other users. I think it'll end up replacing Nemesis and FNIS, but maybe just not right away. I think the person who made it had it on Patreon at first, but now I guess it's in open beta on GitHub. I was fooling around with it last night on a very slim testing base. So far so good for me. It's backwards compatible with FNIS and Nemesis. Some animations that wouldn't work with Nemesis seem to work with it. It was easy to install and it compiles the animations very quickly. I might just stick with it. Gonna do some more testing though today.
Can you also explain a bit more about the overwrite folder and outputs? I'm not really sure when I should be turning those overwrites into a mod like you did for Nemesis. Just not sure when or if I should do that. For instance, I have maybe 15 mods or so as my base right now as I'm just testing things out - but I think there is files in my overwrite that didn't all come from the same source. So I'm not sure if making them all into a mod would be a good idea or not. Like they all wouldn't be from Nemesis but also other mods I've already enabled. If that makes sense.
Thanks for this detailed guide. I've been following this step by step. I ran into a problem: The FNIS.esp does not show up in my plugins list. Can I keep going? XPMS has listed this as required.
SMIM is identified by MO2 as "not valid". Internet says it's due to being a FOMOD installer. You didn't mention that before this point, does it matter?

Appreciate your kind words thank you! :-)
Personally, I prefer Skyrim Unbound Reborn. The customizability and the ability to not be a dragonborn make that a must have for me
Dang this one was great, even included a little troubleshooting for a little side lesson. Thank you.
You're very welcome! Appreciate the support!
best guide iv seen keep them coming id like to see one on changing what your follower looks like
Thank you! I really appreciate you! :-) I can certainly take a look at it :-)
Join the club with a nasty cold thing. Excellent vid as always.
Not pleasant at all! The pressure in my head is a nightmare! Appreciate it Anthony thank you :-)
Absolutely loving this series
Glad you're enjoying it! Looking forward to the rest!
Love this series and how easy it is to understand every little detail to modding Skyrim! Will you by any chance be uploading a tutorial video for any ENBs or lighting overhauls for Skyrim? I always found those tricky and confusing, as well as Dyndolod
I appreciate your kind words thank you. There’s an ENB video on my channel :-)
Thank you so much! Subbing to you for all new useful information!!
Great job putting these videos together. I could be wrong but rather than restarting MO2 as you do towards the end, I think you can just hit F5 to refresh the list. Tends to work for me at least.
Appreciate the kind words thank you! :-) you may be right I’ll check it out
Thank You bro i almost gave up but found ur mini series now i can play
So glad I can help! I appreciate your kind words :-)
You are the absolute best, thanks man
I appreciate you thank you!
You’re welcome! This can be true but nothing that’s extreme so to speak. However, it can be easier to avoid them
You're amazing! Thank you so much!
Glad I could help! Happy modding!
I was having issues with: XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended - XPMSSE
I had to turn "Adult Content" by hovering over pfp in the top right > site preferences > content blocking and it was the first setting there.
Hope this helps if anyone else has this issue.
Great Video! Just subscribed. Any way you would make a tutorial for Animation or Combat mods?
Glad you enjoyed! There’s one for that on my channel. And another in the works :-)
thanks for guide easy to undestand cheers up body!!!!!!
You're very welcome! Enjoy!
hey thanks for the guide, never used mod manager 2 this really helps. wanted to ask if nemesis and/or this guide would be somewhat compatible with skyrim together
I noticed you didnt mention Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer since that also requires some setting up and personally i dont know of a single player who doesnt grab it
This is the best guide out there by a mile! Thanks for all the work you put in. Is there a possibility to enable steam achievements with mods?
Thank you so much for your motivational words. Really means the world to me! I believe I have managed it before and am looking into it again for the most recent update. If I can get it working it will be covered in this series :)
Awesome! Thanks a lot! I am looking forward to the next episode
Checking the boxes for RaceMenu and XP32 in the left column, then updating and launching Nemesis Engine again fixed this problem for me.
Check Nemesis is enabled in mod pane
click refresh on the toolbar across the top
Ensure you’ve updated the engine and then launched
@@FollowerOfChaos I actually figured it out on my own right before you replied. Thanks anyways.
@@davisharper6704 im have that problem now, would you be able to help me..
Thank you ADHDecent this is one of, if not, the best modding video yet. I recently down loaded Skyrim SE and it had just had an update and the
Project New Reign - Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine and XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended mods are nor catagorised as 'Immersion' obviously I need to create a new separator, but do you know where in the sequence it should go?
Many thanks mate. AJ
I really appreciate your incredibly kind words thank you. Means the world to me. As for their priority, they’ll go under animation framework :-)
for me, dawnguard is in purple and crf is normal? why is that?
Many thanks for this tutorial. Everything I did worked just fine, can't wait to start proper modding ;). Quick question: I already had a save game, but now I've completed your steps I can't load my save game in-game anymore. Any idea why that is? Who can help me? :)
Appreciate your kind words thank you. Saved games may or may not work with new mod builds. When starting afresh always assume the previous saves cannot be used
For some reason at 2:30 when i launch Nemesis, it doesn´t create a FNIS.esp file on "Plugins"
Checking the boxes for RaceMenu and XP32 in the left column, then updating and launching Nemesis Engine again fixed this problem for me.
For me, USSEP is purple, and also my FNIS plugin is not found, the plug in was not invalid , with the cross out, it didnt even show up until later.
shouldn't papyrusutil put at the bottem of list (at last), to overwrite any conflicts ?
Could you make a video showing how to get a controller to work with skse through mod orgainzer 2? my controller isnt working for the life of me
orginazer
Have you see skyrim ultima on TH-cam is it what you are planning on doing something similar?
Cutting Room Floor no longer works for 1.5.97. I guess its AE only? It says missing masters like fish, etc. Is there a backup version for 1.5.97 some where?
Like Avril would say "i dont know who you are but i, im with you"
That album is just golden 🤌👌
Gosh I wish someone would do a Vortex version of this guide! I'm completely lost and MO2 would not work for me!
2:28 plugins doesn't have Finisesp option.. Did everything exactly in the video has there been a new update or something for so that you don't need it?
Edit: I ran Nemesis again it showed up.. phew
You're a legend! This helped me, thank you.
The finis tick box isn't even present after running nemesis and going into the plugins list... Is that a redundant or removed feature? because I can't find it anywhere in the plugins. Only the XPMSE esl and the race menu plug in stuff are there.

Thank you so much für this ! 💖
You’re very welcome! :-)
What about what game version we should use and everything that goes along with it like downgrading and etc? Since the newest update has alot of people straight up quitting playing altogether.
this series uses the latest installation as we start with cleaning any existing installations
@@ADHDecent Just a request for a possible future series or video in general since alot of the big mods haven’t been updated to this version. And some that probably never will. Alot if not most pc players seem to be playing on older versions.
Please do one where you show how to install your favorite ENB
I’ll make a note :-) thanks for the suggestion
Thank you! I was looking for modding guide for quite some time now but all I could find was outdates posts. But here's another question: does it work on already played saves? Or is there some way you could explain how to move exsisting saves into modded game?
Happy to help :-) saved games are always hit and miss across builds
Wish you explained the mods that are necessary and what they do vs. personal recommendations and mods that would be necessary only if you plan on doing certain things. You say install nemesis along with other mods but when I look at these on nexus I'm thinking I don't need this cus I don't plan on messing with animations or npc behaviors. Running a lower end PC so I'm trying to avoid anything I don't 100% need outside of the mods I do want.
Yoooo I just learned about Pandora, tried it yet? I just replaced FNIS and Nemesis with it and it's so fast!
It certainly looks promising. IIRC it wasn’t available or only on Patreon (something like that) when I began writing but whichever it was it meant it wouldn’t make the series this time around with enough time to test. Then we had 1170 which was trouble as it was anyway 😂. Provided its smooth sailing from here onwards (not error free just not painful) then it’ll be the one used from now on :-)
What if the pop up doesn't appear when double clicking xp32?
Did you manage to solve this ? I also didn't get the popup.
- EDIT:
So I found someone on Steam who mentioned you can "In MO's left pane at the top, click on the Priority column." However, what the HELL is the MO's lef pane at the top? Nothing up there has a Priority column!
Regardless: Quite accidentally, I discovered in my file pathway folder where I'm saving all of these files and folders, under "MO2 INSTANCES / Mods " is a list of all mods I've uploaded so far. Although a roundabout way of solving this, I realized I could just use your mod guidance and manually edit/copy edit/paste each folder and files in the folder you specify. It should do the same thing. -
EDIT EDIT:
So the above didn't work. However, something else did:
Oh well.
So I was wondering with the Output Mod, should we set Nemesis to output there instead of overwrite?
I member the days when I had to keep the .rar FIles of the mod to keep track of them ahhh.... Fun times.
Btw, I still have a functionning Nmm Installation and I refuse to delete it, I spent too much time on it xD
Those were the days…. ;-)
After I installed Nemesis and then go to the data tab and hit refresh, the Nemesis folder is not appearing.
@@ADHDecent ohhh thanks for the clarification 👍
Your 5 tuto are so good and so helping for begginner like me, today it's the first time something don't go like you, the finis.esp don't appears after Nemesis launch, do you have an idea about the problem ?

Hi I am doing this right now as of 1 february and the Cutting Room Floor is not highlighted to purple. Is there a possibility that the Arthmoor's Patch Pack is no longer required or is it just some mistake on my part ?
and also when I click manual on Arthmoor then it says it does not look valid. What to do in such an example please ?

I noticed that for the All in one mod you installed the Anniversary edition instead of the Special edition which was available, is there a reason for that? Thanks,
Is nemesis and xp32 truly necessary? I remember FNIS only being there for animations and I want to cut out as much fluff as possible.
Nemesis isn’t appearing in the executable toolbar when installed,
Attempting to manually add it results in ‘exception caught. Directory couldn’t locate “mods\”.’
1.6.1170 version of skyrim is stable ? did i need to downgrade to some older and stable version ?

the Nemesis FNIS dummy file can be use FNIS mod animation? or do i need to download FNIS?
Bro let us decide to bring us both anyways, epic.
I take voting very seriously ;-) I definitely should have asked earlier though as I did panic a little to get it done in time! xD
This is incredible, thank you!
One question. I do not get the FNIS.esp file. I've followed the instructions so far to an absolute T, so I'm hoping this is due to updated files and is no longer a necessary step?
Glad you're enjoying. Check out my animations video which will explain all of that:)
@@ADHDecent strangely, the file randomly appeared of its own volition...so everything's running smoothly 😅
What are your thoughts on the newer Pandora Engine as a replacement for Nemesis & FNIS? I've read some good feedback from it.
Somehow I cannot find the Nemesis folder under the "Data" tab, am I missing something?
Thanks for this detailed guide. I've been following this step by step. I ran into a problem: The FNIS.esp does not show up in my plugins list. Can I keep going? XPMS has listed this as required.
Refresh the MO2 window. If it doesn't appear after, it's not needed and you can continue without it
@@ADHDecent Thank you very much.
You should be using Pandora Behavior Engine.
That's a new one to me! I'll look into it
SMIM is identified by MO2 as "not valid". Internet says it's due to being a FOMOD installer. You didn't mention that before this point, does it matter?
