Dementium The Ward was scary on the DS! Jump scares, sure, but even so it was a great game.
I started with many similar games: Donkey Kong, Castlevania, but also Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat, Final Fight, the list is long.

@@734ch3r that game was amazing, perhaps a bit repetitive, but as a horror game ufff it is a gem. Unfortunately, the second game was not that amazing. T-T I liked it, but it felt as if something was missing.
I was more about killer instinct, but I was not that good in fighting games XD.

I think my road was similar to yours; I started with platformers in the classic era and then RPGs in the 2000s and FPS in the 2010s, but I end up playing more simulation/sandboxes at the end.
Then again, I also mostly play gacha games, but I doubt it counts when people talk about games, but even the games I play are simulation or shooters (Blue Archive and Snowbreak).

I almost fell into the phone gaming back when I still liked pokemon, with "GO". fortunately or unfortunately my potato back in those days was not able to run it 😂
So I never got into FEH, BA, Fates, etc etc XD
But yeh, I am happy to not play shooters or online games that often, my overcompetitive nature does not help :'p

Just beat mhw fatalis. I couldn't delete a game faster.
