    This episode: How to transition to the midgame while making full use of your early game base!
    This run will be focused on
    - Explaining the strategy
    - No Spaghetti
    - Easy to use layouts and blueprints
    This playstyle is extremely organized and will focus on efficiently scaling, step by step, towards the endgame. Optimizing is what we do here!
    It is definitely not the only way to play, so I encourage you to try things out for yourself as well!

    Thank you for this series, I'm looking forward to the next instalment. I clearly see how I'm overproducing almost everything with an out-of-control spaghetti setup. Watching your base develop is much more pleasing than my mess. It is interesting to see how other people can masterfully solve this game's challenges.

    i enjoy your 'slower' and more measured way of doing things. Where you only build the production capacity only for the production scale you can accommodate. I've seen people made massive missile factory quite early game and the same with science where a lot of that rocket becomes idle anyway and the research goes way to fast that you don't end up using anything you've researched for a while

    I like smelting the titanium and silicon in place and using the ILS to ship the bars. It ends up being slightly more efficient because converting it to ingots means you're essentially shipping twice as much titanium.

    I might never have realized that you can place depots on top of Battle Centers to expand their storage, and by extension distributors on top of the depots to connect them to your logitistic network if you hadn't demonstrated it. But it just goes to show that watching tutorials like these even if just to learn tricks like that makes it worthwhile.

Last time I played, some 3 to 4 years ago, and never finished it. I also not remember, how to fly to another planet, and ended up way past my destination, and thought i was a goner, but luckly I was able to turn around and fly to the planet. Not sure you will see this, but if you do, I hope you tell us how to leave the solar system.

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In order to leave the system you need warpers (made from green science). Once you have those, the process is almost the same as flying to other planets. Set a destination (so you know where to fly to), leave the planet normally in that direction, and active a warper to get additional speed.
      Try not to run out of power while doing this, because that might leave you stuck in between solar systems ;)

  • @sendtospybot
    @sendtospybot 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I wished the accumulators would be available much earlier in the tech tree. Maybe in a Tier 1 version with less capacity. That would be awesome for early game to help combat the power spikes and would be a nice addition to have as a building. When they come up later, they are almost useless cause at this point you have enough things in your toolbelt to just generate more power.
    But the usage in your defence base is really nice.

    • @nekogod
      @nekogod 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are still pretty early tbh you get them with red science. Though you're right they're never that good as a building but remain useful in partnership with energy exchangers well into the end game

    Just an FYI that build actually produces 1 yellow science per second not 2. Still plenty for the early/mid game though. And one minor thing, the water in belt for the organic crystals stops directly underneath another belt so you have to delete part of the belt going over, connect the water then rebuild it. One extra segment of belt on the water belt would fix that. Otherwise fantastic as usual!

    • @Yardiff
      @Yardiff 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not individual buildings, groups of buildings. Like, the turrets/missiles/battlefield analysis bases. I'm thinking of separate stamping down:
      1/ The power structure (accumulators, solar panels, wind turbines)
      Once that's charged up somewhat:
      2/ The rest (belts, missiles, turrets, bab's, boxes, and sorters)
      I hope that makes sense. 🤔
      Edit 1: Is it possible to build with pre-charged accumulators? Hmmm...
      Edit 2: Only if you want to stamp down the accumulators manually - blueprints demand un-charged accumulators, pity.

    I am so sick of opening settings to manually select a watchable resolution when I've already told you to choose the HIGHEST setting.
    This video is available in 1080p, it's streaming just fine in 1080p now that I've manually selected it.

I had quite the battle on the planet with the Titanium with about 8 hives. I let attacked them all, let the hole open with Signal Towers guarding so they can not rebuild. My space threat is 99.7% now. Back to home planet with 6 hives now. Damage is getting so big also due to space attacks it is not playable anymore for me. Needs more solid energy , windmills get attacked by the 6 hives cause they almost cover half of the planet now to get energy. It just defense and repair now, nothing can be done anymore. @chActuaryOn the blue planet I took them all out. On the home planet some new hives add and they attack now from the top side. So my gun turrets are not efective enough anymore and the missiles can not deal with them alone. To take out the hives on the homeplanet will be hard because mostly 2 hives sit so close together I would have to take out 2 hives at once. I think I will take blueprints of the home world and restart with less agressive enemy settings. Then I think I will put a farm of thermal powerplants up cause the windturbines just stretch to far out later and trigger hives

    curious why you don't use thermal gens when you started needing a lot of power for red science? seems better than covering half the planet in wind turbines

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thermals use a LOT of resources and can spiral your factory into power-death. If you ever run below 100% power, the resource input in the thermals goes down, resulting in less power, resulting in less input, less power, etc.
      This scenario can easily happen if you are scaling up your production, which is pretty much what you'll be constantly doing in this stage of the game. In short, you'll need to pay close attention to your power if you go this route (but if you do, it works just fine).
      Wind turbines on the other hand aren't pretty, but they work 100% of the time at zero risk, regardless of your current utilization of your power grid.

      They cap out at 180 units. My wall of turrets + the rockets keep them in check just fine. Just make sure you have enough power running (not just outside of attacks, but especially DURING the attacks when all the turrets suddenly start using far more energy)

      I use a mod to keep light centered on my Mech all the time. It makes sure that you don't have to watch me play in the darkness, but doesn't actually do anything to the game mechanics.
      However, a side effect is that the solar panels act like you're a star. So instead of following the sun, they follow me around ;)

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The first few bases are the hardest. Once you get a good dent in them you should be able to take over fairly easy, as long as you don't run out of missiles ;)
      Try building an additional base with turrets once you cleared out the closets relay stations. Taking out close-ish bases is a lot easier than those on the other side of the planet.

      @@TheDutchActuary Iv just cleared the last base using about 100 missile launchers (no not over kill). The enemy base were all close together. A lot of save/load and making attack patterns on the which base. Down side to this was it all around the platinum… so you’re 45min video has turn into a 5hour war game for me lol

      Same. If you have a dense cluster of bases it means you need a lot of missile turrets. A larger initial burst of missiles can demolish most of a base and reduce later waves. It requires a lot of power though, so accumulators really are essential.
