    Thank you so much for sharing, i always have a hard time with interviews, but excel in my job duties when in the position. I honestly wish government position would do hands on kinesthetic type interviews for those who might not do well on question based only responses.

    Thanks, although my main focus was and is still on budget positions, I've got a 0343 program analyst position interview coming up and these should help in my preparation for that and get me thinking along the lines of possible questions.

    Have you done any videos explaining how to answer interview questions when all you have is a Bachelors or maybe just started a masters but want to get into the government.

    Good information! Some GS 9 positions have an education substitution for experience if you have a master's degree. I wonder what type of questions would be asked of someone with the education, but not the experience?

      @armandcuret1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point. I'm sure the questions could be different. Aside from mentioning your course work, you could always use experience from your previous studies/classes and also volunteer experience.

      It would be the same questions. Is up to you to utilize course work, internships or extracurricular activity to answer correctly.

    I received a "referred to the hiring manager for a program analyst" position recently and this is helpful in preparation. Now, about three weeks since the referral, but I am preparing as if I do "get that call".

      @@armandcuret1 My interview included 10 questions, most of the questions asked about experience with SQL and other programs (excel, Power Bi, pyramid, etc) but Question # 5 was included. Thanks for the prep and getting my mind focused on analytical examples. I think I did well. I will let you know if it get the position.

    That excel question came up today during an interview. Glad I mentioned all the top things I use it for. The interviewer from yesterday reached out to ask for my references, so that was a good sign to see and to hear she wants to move forward in the hiring process. I would prefer the job I interviewed for today though, so hopefully I see something from both soon.

      @@armandcuret1 Thank you, yes, let's hope so. I still went ahead and submitted another 4 applications this evening just for the disciplined approach to it, considering only 10% may lead to an interview, etc as far as offers. Totally makes sense why the process can take months or weeks considering I am probably not the only person applying to 150 plus jobs out there and on the hiring side, they probably deal with alot of their top choices not going through due to multiple offers. I would like to be someone's first choice, but I don't mind getting a job being a second choice.
