Hyundai, Kia and VW are outside Top 10 Reliability and also outside Top 10 Low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), thus they cannot be among the 8 most RELIABLE compact cars (that actually are all Japanese). @@codincoman9019 They named two cars out of the three brands you mentioned. Those brands make dozens of cars. Hyundai have made reliability ratings in Consumer Reports,fyi. They also have cars that stop on the highway.
