HEY FORD ! Bring back the 300 inline 6 and turbo it with the gear drive timing they last forever.

You forgot the windsor series of V8's 302 5.0 overhead valve V8 and the 351 5.8 liter ohv V8 that started in the 1960's all the way to the year 2001in the ford explorer.

So basically what your saying is anything from the modular era of ford's sucks.. well your right everything from that era did suck. N don't think dodge n gm didn't have thier failure engines but ford just kept kicking a dead horse over n over n over. 4.6 ford's both soccer and dohc where far better than the 5.4l but had plenty of problems. Next to 6.0 ford n 6.4 I threw more 4.6/5.4 soccer and 3v heads in the dumpster than any other brand. Just poor design and the 3 v heads where the worst of the bunch. FORD PLEASE JUST BUILD A PUSHROD MOTOR i mean cmon already your getting your ass kicked by a Mopar.. n please built something with more than 302 ci. Sad that gm had to show you how to build your own engines when they introduced the LS but well someone had to do it. Just build something cool for once.. I know some clown will say how great thier coyote is.. also junk.. but thier not your getting your asses kicked by push rod v8s get the picture

I bought a 2004 F150 with 5.4 and put 317,000 miles on it with no problems. After that, I bought a 2014 F150 and put 270,000 miles on it with no problems.

Down under we swear by the barra 6 cyl legendary

3.5 is a beast. Gen 1 had some issues but we are on the Gen 3 now.

2018 3.5l ecoboost 80k miles, cam phasers were the only problem so far. Replaced on extended warranty at 72k miles. $3800 repair otherwise. Love my 6.7l PSD!

The 289 was not available in 1964 . It came out in 1965. The 260 was the V8 in 1964 Mustang and Falcon Sprint model

The 5.4 2 valve did not have these issues. A responsible video would have explained that. No mention of the 5.4 3 or 4 valve concerns.

Skims over some major problems and make big deal of small easy fixes, also many of the pictures are of wrong vehicle, engine or part. Look for information from someone with a good reputation for working on and fixing, not a content creator this is a waste of time.

Had 2 3.5 ecoboost engines both crapped outbon me before 200k one was the timing chain the other was turbo coolent leak. I will never buy another one.

Any engine with more than 6 feet of timing chains is JUNK. period.

I had the 3.8 with with my 2002 Ford Mustang. Had no issues with it. Only did regular maintenance on it. It was am automatic transmission too. Not sure how much that will change anything. However I only had it for at least 60 thousand miles. Can't remember how much longer oast that I had it. My friend had the 5.4 Triton with his 2003 Ford Excursion. He had the fuel issue and the spark plug one. Didn't have the issue with the timing chain. They also are known for an expensive AC issue that will cost you thousands to fix.

I bought a 1998 F150 with "The Straight Six - 300 C.I." It was my daily driver for 17 years. The only thing I ever did to it besides change oil was a water pump & 1 freeze plug! Ford's best engine! I ended up giving it to a close friend and he drove it for 5 more years.

The 5.2 voodoo flat crank was not reliable.multiple issues with oil consumption issues.

I am so glad to never own a Ford. The Ranger and the Van were great and so many still on the road but everything else they made is crap. I see many Buick's, Oldsmobile, trailblazer, and Pontiac still on the road but no Ford from the 2000's era.

Horrible video. Lifetime Mopar guy, the mistakes and omissions in this piece of trash are numerous. One of the early thumbnails is a Dodge / Cummins 5.9. Several pointed out that the 6.0 and 6.4 were Navistar engines. Funny, those engines weren't particularly troublesome in medium duty trucks. It was the GD DPF the feds mandated in January 2007 that caused most of the troubles. Ford wrote their own software for these engines, probably because the lighter trucks had stricker emission requirements. My theory is that it was Ford's emission compliant software aggravated the troubles with the basic engine. When he mentioned the 4.2 V8 I thought of the early '80's 255 in the fox platform cars, an emission strangled small displacement Windsor engine, which was one of Ford's best. I had to bail out there, just too much BS. Stealing other channels content is egregious.

Never mentioned the Coyote 5.0 which is crazy or the 5.0 used in the Foxbody's both are extremely reliable.

3.5l engine is a lot more reliable then the junkie 5.0l
