Being able to take 15 DB out of your daily hearing when you work in a loud place and still be able to hear what someone is saying to you can be priceless. You may film in a warehouse but you don’t actually work in a warehouse. I agree $100 is pretty pricey. Maybe there something better on the market. I just don’t think that you use them in the right way to be able to show how effective they can be.
The silly thing is he didn't do any damn research on this. They aren't $100. They're $69 or $89. The two models have exactly the same functionality, but the pricier ones just have knurling on the dial.
Grocery store earplugs can't change the volume to when you need to hear someone speak, and they muddles the sound. Learn about sound curves. Cheap earphones takes away the highs, that's why som many people hate using them at concerts. The Knops are supposed to have a flat curve and the sound will be mostly the same, just lower. The difference is night and day. It's almost an entirely different product.
Justin Y. I see u everywhere I go we have same tastes I see u in unbox therapy, random gaming in hd,PewDiePie,Linus tech tips, u are literally everywhere nice one sis, wanna be friends?
Interesting. As an orchestral brass musician I have custom molded earplugs with interchangeable filters that filter out different levels of dBs. Those ran me $150, but then again those are molded to my ear for a perfect fit. The world of high end earplugs is quite pricey, but there are certainly uses for them.
Yeah but they have holes in the middle so I imagine you might be able to stick some cheap ear buds into them and they would work more like noise canceling headphones where you can't hear the world around you. Idk for sure but it'd be something cool to try
Like Rodrigo says, and Will in the show. Imagine wanting to enjoy some of the life of a concert without risking yourself. Normal earplugs would work too well and be a problem. That being said I can't imagine buying this product.
If you're like me who works as a music/concert photographer. If you just realize how huge and loud the speakers in the pit (very front of stage), there you will find out what is the use of such products.
“No radiation.” Designed to attract people who think Bluetooth and WiFi are cancerous. Maybe those same people are less likely to be wearing headphones.
Random Savage saying that wireless EM from the likes of Bluetooth and WiFi causes “interference and discomfort” with the human body is demonstrably not true. Double-blind clinical and scientific testing has debunked every single case of this. The “condition” that some claim to have (EM sensitivity) is psychosomatic and just as ridiculous as the cancer claims. Saying that it isn’t ridiculous because users are concerned with EM causing “interference and discomfort” with the human body is just as laughable as saying that it causes cancer. Even if no cell phones and WiFi and Bluetooth and radio/TV existed you would still be bathed in about the same levels of background EM from space. It’s why old TVs showed static when they were on channels with no broadcast. You’d have to live inside a Faraday cage to avoid most of it, and that’s quite a big step for a condition that exists purely in people’s heads. Just to be clear: their pain may be real, but it’s still psychosomatic.
For me, these are priceless. I can't concentrate to read if there's people talking near me, or things are too loud. Being able to choose my level of noise reduction without having to take them out is awesome. Perfect for drowning out annoying noises, like if I was working with you and you were talking. :)
I work construction and I kinda feel like these would be nice for the jobsite. Having hearing protection when I need it but being able to change the volume and listen to conversations when I need to talk to someone would be great. Much better than taking headphones on and off throughout the day.
That was my thing too, glad some else sees a real life application to the device. Does it control volume or does it allow certain noises thru while cancelling out the louder ones? I'm perplexed because I thought it was the ladder one
Audio control for the real world? You mean a hearing aid? Did you hear Lew say Audio control for the real world? That's what I was commenting on. Maybe use some common sense, think things through before replying.

It's for music conductors, maybe construction workers, concerts so you can Cleary hear the audio without going deaf, normal earmuffs just muffle the sound
I bought them in August 2019 and they actually work much better than the 'basic' earplugs. I have very sharp hearing, hear over 20 kHz frequencies and am accoustophobic (Louder noises hurt and I hear everything louder than it actually is) Those Knops earplugs really cancel noises, then I barely hear things and feel like I am suddenly deaf. Mines have been tested to reduce a maximum 28 dB (according to what is wrote on the box), but in all honesty I feel like it is more than 28 dB Maybe they're not worth 100$ but 80$, there has been a huge enginering work behind it The 'basic' earplugs reduces quite well high pitches sounds but nothing exceptionnal and is terrible near completely inneficient to cancel/reduce lower pitches sounds
If these could also function as hearing aids and earbuds, take my money. But they only do one thing, turn the volume down. That's not worth $100. That's not worth $50. I'd pay max $20 for these and they better be the same quality that was shown here in the video.
They have made these for ages look up hunting goods :) 20-25NRR with a compressor you can set for loud noise to kick in in .02 seconds and amplification for quiet all less then 100$ this product is a rip off for the price.
Probably because you don't value your ears that much... They are my main tool & work asset and $100 does not seem a lot to protect them while still being able to ear clearly what I play. Plus being able to switch them off is really convenient in-between songs... But yeah $100 could be a bit too much, but not crazy too much. And btw, most $20 music plugs suck anyway, even though I've tried a lot of them ;)
still 100$ for 20NRR is to much in my books. I agree the 20$ ones are junk but you can get alot better noise reduction for 100$(US) for in ear that have a compressor built in for the reduction but bring everything else up to a set level automatically.
These are actually FABULOUS! It's great to be able to adjust the volume without having to take out your earplugs to hear all the time! I LOVE THEM!! Well worth the price and they are on sale for 1/3 off until the end of October.

Well on one side 100$ you can just get an earbud thing that has noise canceling in it and play music. But on the other side this doesn't use battery and you can wear it 8h a day no problem. Just reply, I really want to know what other people think. Edit:i know different people have different opinions and viewpoint so no need to get frustrated and salty...
My opinion is this: You guys have no idea what these earphones are for. Let say you are at a concert, you have them on max. Then you walk away and start talking to someone. Instead of taking the earplugs out and expose yourself to the full force of the audio which is incredibly dangerous since your ears wont be prepared for the blast, you simply raise the volume a little bit without damaging your ears. For me with very sensitive ears, this device will be a lifechanger. If I am out in traffic with lots of car noises, instead of taking a long time to put in better earplugs, all I need is to turn a dial. To be fair, doesn't really seem like they understood it fully from the video either. You can't compare these to 2dollar earphones. That's like comparing a standard phone to a smartphone. The sound on these will be incredible and lifelike wile most normal headphones muddles the sound and creates a very strange sound curve. I haven't received mine yet, I truly hope they work as intented.
I go to really loud concerts 3-4 times a month and generally try to buy earplugs with that have even attention across all frequencies. Eargasm earplugs do that perfectly, but if you drop and lose one of them because you're trying to hear your friend, you may just decide to buy another pair of $30 ear plugs the next week to get that same quality. These address that specific problem. I don't have to take them out and I can turn them down to specific settings at concerts. That variability is also really attractive since you might walk to particularly loud or fairly sort areas in a single concert. I bought a pair and I think it was $60 as an early bird purchase. They still haven't arrived though, haha.
For everyone saying this is stupid, or that it's ironic because there are people who need hearing aids: I have misophonia, I have fight or flight reactions to repetitive noise, chewing/eating noise, loud noise, nasal noise... the list goes on. It makes being social VERY DIFFICULT. If you're near civilization, you are being bombarded by noise pollution 100% of the time. Sometimes I just need to cut out higher decibels, but still need to hear what people are saying, sometimes everyone gets loud and I need most of the sound cut out. I can tell you that yes, normal sound canceling ear plugs also work to block most sound, but try to imagine talking to someone, and they suddenly put in earplugs while you're talking to them. It's really embarrassing, especially when they are unaware of the condition, and even when they are aware, people end up feeling bad. This is a discreet way for me to control the audio stimulus around me, with out it being all or nothing, without it being headphones (because listening to something on headphones IS a way of coping, but it's not my first choice, usually I'm craving silence, not louder sound). It is pricy, but I have yet to find anything similar that I can keep in and not have to use power for it. I hope this gives perspective into why it is a popular item, this is something new and is fulfilling a need for quality of life previously unmet.
+unbox therapy one of my favorite tech/product reviewers! LOOOOVE the comical approach! this is one of my favorite reviews to date (and the unspillable mug!)
I mean, it *radiates* from a point and transfers energy but I don't think it counts as radiation. But then again it could just be because when people say radiation they usually mean electromagnetic radiation.
These would be more for people who are sensitive to loud noises but still need to be aware of other sounds. This product is more of a quality of life for a select few.
I have very sensitive ears, when somebody simply talks over me it physically hurts and causes me to tear up/cry I can also hear the conversations my upstairs neighbors have, so I want these so bad for my actual health, maybe I can finally be present at family parties
Eight years ago I brought custom earplugs for 200 Euro and it was a very good purchase. They filter all frequencies of the sound the same way and that's worth the money. It means that the sound quality is better when I dance Salsa and my ears don't get damaged by the loud music. The same goes for musicians who want to protect their ears but who need high sound quality. The ability to adjust the volume would be useful for my use-case of dancing Salsa and would also be very useful for musicians. The optics are also better then those of the earplugs that I currently use. As the review doesn't address the sound quality it's useless for anyone who's actually in the market for high-end earplugs.
The marketing is for the normal joe, this is not for the normal joe. Construction workers, workers in loud factories, or people with disorder(forget its name), who are very sensitive to acute sounds.
i work construction and i can tell u i would nvr ever get these, its not a bad thing it just doesnt look secure for a job site.If u are working on something and tilt ur head how do i know it will stay on without loosening up or falling out,i cant hinder my work for a piece that is over priced and isnt for sure secure
I can see the applications for this for people that are around loud noise a lot: people who work in concert production or concert photography; people who work with marching bands or drum corps (those guys can get really loud!); people who commute by bus or train and want to read or get work done; frequent flyers.
Normal musicians ear plugs cost $200+, however decent quality ones easily go over that, but even with the decent ones you still can't adjust the volume like these. I can't describe how useful it is to be able to turn the volume down all they way on my right ear (where the drums are) while keeping the volume at a medium level in my left ear so I can still hear myself play. These are also different from regular ear plugs, which muffle the sound, in that they maintain a flat frequency response so sounds become quieter, not more muffled. If you don't see yourself using these much then $69 (the base model price for Knops) would seem like a lot, but if you're a musician (or anyone) looking to prevent longterm hearing damage, then these are much cheaper and more convenient than musician's ear plugs.
@Unbox Therapy So here is my two cents on this! What deters me from attending music concerts is the sheer loudness of the arena stadium etc... Normal ear plugs work but just muffle the sounds, which creates a distasteful sound to your ear. These would be great with the adjust ability of the frequencies. I rate this 8/10!! Could have been 10/10 if they weren't 100$, MSRP should be like 85$, that my opinion though!
Probably because he has that shit in his ears and when you have anything that changes your hearing +/- it makes you feel weird and slightly changes your speech based on how little you can hear the noises around you
I was hoping that there was a more thorough review, I travel a lot and am frustrated with background noise in places like airports and on the bus which distract me from my reading or sometimes even genuinely ruin the immersion and imagination. I also work in a busy office and feel like these would help a lot but the price is pretty high. But if it would make working, reading, and sketching easier by removing distractions I would totally buy them. Any advice @unboxtheraby? Thanks in advance
Brendan Turner Good earplugs can run a couple hundred dollars. If these are anywhere comparable, it could be a good deal, especially with the adjustable blocking. Would be interested in a real review though.
@@andrewburban9276 usually if you've a "premium" budget, you can get great ANC earphones with tons of reviews. I'm currently rocking B&O H9is, though most people are better going for Sony mxdr what ever the rest of the name is. From what I've heard they're amazing
For people with tinnitus I could imagine these are awesome. My friend has to wear earplugs all the time but he wishes he could adjust the volume accordingly.
These would be great for something like edc or any other big concert/rave/festival so you can go from the main stage front to the side by the burrito cart and keep it at relatively the same volume. Maybe not 100 dollars but its definitely a sick product
For one all radiation is harmless to a certain mount which would be really hard to get that it would cause harm. secondly the hat doesn't cause radiation unless it magically collects radiation
You should demo this product in a musician's working environment. Being able to dial the amount of attenuation would be so cool, since you'd try to play loud and then have a conversation between the sections where you play. It's really annoying being forced to remove and reinsert your earplugs all the time.
That’s hearing protection used for hunting and even the shooting range. It’s actually really valuable to preserve your hearing. It’s also used for people who operate loud machinery (like a forklift) If you totally block out sound with those big headphones and then remove them at the end of the day, just the ambient noise can cause permanent hearing loss. So these are meant to “filter” sound out and preserve your hearing. I agree the price is kinda high though. Most companies opt for the cheap foam...no bueno.
This is great. I keep losing my expensive earplugs (cheap ones ruin the sound quality) because I have to take them out when I talk to people. I have to hold them in my hand, and if I wont need them for longer I have to either put them in my pocket or back in the case. It's such a hassle and they keep dropping on the floor. Knops go for €80 in NL right now, and in the end it would be as cheap, if not cheaper. You can simply keep them in, and even improve your overall hearing by having it on the first setting in idle, non concert situations. This really isn't so bad, guys
@@LaxJack Yes, I've been using them for years now. As far as concerts/festivals/parties go, it's very handy for the reasons I stated. I never lose them because I don't really have to take them out. It filters sound pretty well. The integrity of the music is still decent when it's fully turned close. However there are some cons: They are not very great for every day situations due to the comfort level. They will itch after a while, and you have to be lucky to get a good fit. If you're looking for a daily wearable I'd rather go for electronic noise cancelling that's more comfortable like airpods. Another con is that the tips can't reach the inner ear very well because the exterior is large, as opposed to regular "party plugs" that you would normally insert quite far. Because of this it remains a bit of a loose fit. If you're not a bit careful they may fall out of your ear, and also in terms of protection it's a bit of a bummer that I can't get a super tight plug. I might fix this myself in the future with a custom silicone ear tip. Maybe that will work.
Those ear pieces are for producers who need to have a good ear in order to mix well and balance the lows and the highs. They're worth it man, you need wear those whenever you go to concerts or whenever you're around loud music.

Hey man, did they arrive?
I hope this gives perspective into why it is a popular item, this is something new and is fulfilling a need for quality of life previously unmet.
i was thinking the same thing! i have misophonia too!
@@charbrock6005 Sucks, don't it?
you could buy noise cancelling earphone?
That really sucks, still this item is way overpriced though as far as I can tell!

i love how he goes to the final settings and his speech is so much different
technically it has radiation, it radiates sound waves
Ummmm actuallllly, those are *pressure waves* you freakin STUPID SILLY DUMB DUMB
Vibration of particles isn't radiation.
His name is Adam Nope 😂
it is when the vibration pattern, or pressure waves as the boy genius pointed out, propagates through the particles

Did you get these? How well do they work?
He started to do asmr since he wore those earphones
5:00 I like how they have a camera on their camera.
A 100$ reverse hearing aid. NICE
The marketing is for the normal joe, this is not for the normal joe. Construction workers, workers in loud factories, or people with disorder(forget its name), who are very sensitive to acute sounds.
BananaDoe sensory processing disorder and autism can use it.
He said this is not bad product but bad price, get it
i work construction and i can tell u i would nvr ever get these, its not a bad thing it just doesnt look secure for a job site.If u are working on something and tilt ur head how do i know it will stay on without loosening up or falling out,i cant hinder my work for a piece that is over priced and isnt for sure secure
Doubt these are OSHA compliant
@G Hq
Why hold back in your opinion?
I can see the applications for this for people that are around loud noise a lot:
people who work in concert production or concert photography; people who work with marching bands or drum corps (those guys can get really loud!); people who commute by bus or train and want to read or get work done; frequent flyers.

"I did it for the rock, i did it for the people"🚶
It raised $600,000 ;-;
0:45 That face 🤣
*100 freaking bucks!! Refundable??*

4:11 why does he sound like he isn't a native english speaker? lol
Probably because he has that shit in his ears and when you have anything that changes your hearing +/- it makes you feel weird and slightly changes your speech based on how little you can hear the noises around you
@@diegoortiz8102 Damn, you real big brain
I was hoping that there was a more thorough review, I travel a lot and am frustrated with background noise in places like airports and on the bus which distract me from my reading or sometimes even genuinely ruin the immersion and imagination. I also work in a busy office and feel like these would help a lot but the price is pretty high. But if it would make working, reading, and sketching easier by removing distractions I would totally buy them. Any advice @unboxtheraby? Thanks in advance
Decent pair ANC headphones, cost $100 and you've the added benefit of being able to play music
Brendan Turner
Good earplugs can run a couple hundred dollars.
You can't tune out tinnitus I have it I can plug my ears with cotton, ear plugs but in the end all you hear is the ringing....
It's better to buy a 100$ headphones with ANC 😎😎
"This is your doing!"
"..do they work tho-"

Side note, why big glasses for such tiny eyes?
These would be great for something like edc or any other big concert/rave/festival so you can go from the main stage front to the side by the burrito cart and keep it at relatively the same volume. Maybe not 100 dollars but its definitely a sick product

Everything has radiation so yes ur hat is radioactive
For one all radiation is harmless to a certain mount which would be really hard to get that it would cause harm. secondly the hat doesn't cause radiation unless it magically collects radiation
i totally agree
Damn, I was really expecting something else but man Lou...you really came with the honesty. Damn. I appreciate you.

You should demo this product in a musician's working environment. Being able to dial the amount of attenuation would be so cool, since you'd try to play loud and then have a conversation between the sections where you play. It's really annoying being forced to remove and reinsert your earplugs all the time.
why are you not wearing glasses
No wonder I feltl like something is missing
That's dumb.
Your hat is unradioactive huh
Namaste
You're quite right Lew! Your way is a very nice way to say they're useless. :))
*Now I know OUR LIVES ARE JOKE!*
What's the name of the track in the background during the first minute?
Did u find out
This is great.
Hi, have you got the chance to try them? 👀

Hello
Those ear pieces are for producers who need to have a good ear in order to mix well and balance the lows and the highs. They're worth it man, you need wear those whenever you go to concerts or whenever you're around loud music.
Maximum 25$ HAHAHAHAHA, no buddy, maximum 5$ and i would probably still not buy this crap.
I could buy a beer with that $5. So fuck it.
If they pay me $5, I might use one from the pair.
