When I woke up at 3am that morning I had no intention of targeting redfish, but a simple mistake caused me to change not just the area I had planned to fish but also the species.
Follow along in this video as I traverse the wide waters of Lake Pontchartrain to home in on an easy bite of redfish using my Humminbird Helix 12 MEGA SI graph and a good ol' fashioned jig on my redfish Daiwa rod and reel combo.

My father got me started when I was a kid. He always made time for me and my brother and took us fishing often. I've thanked him for doing so and continue to thank him, as he deserves it.
However, a lot of what I learned I had learned on my own, through studying books, watching videos, and putting a LOT of time in on the water.
Today I have that knowledge neatly arranged inside LAFB Elite where other anglers can benefit from it and get straight to the fun part of catching fish, and less time learning things the hard way.

Yeah man I don’t play with them storms. Especially when I’m out in big water. I’ve been caught out in my kayak in a bad storm doing the whole “1 more cast then I’ll go in”.
I have played with storms and have been in more than one shitty situation across Louisiana's coast. It is experience I am glad to have, but not glad to have gone through. It's how I'm able to make good rolls of the dice and (usually) not get caught with my pants down.

Yeah, you see a lot more with side imaging sonar.

Which daiwa tatula do you use on the regular I'm thinking about getting a couple of them?
That's a great question because there ISN'T a Tatula I use on the regular. I'd say I equally use the 100, SV and 150.

Hey Ashtyn, than really depends on you and your needs. Without any further information, I'd say a Daiwa Tatula 150.

I really like it when people aren't afraid to use what I teach and get out there and put a little elbow grease in to enjoy catching some fish.
As far as I know the only rigs left in the lake are around Kenner. Which means he ran from one side of the lake to the other.
