    Thanks for such a down to earth and well explained video of the 11.5 kayak and your great set up, particularly your sensible and practical innovations regarding safety.
    I was looking at one of these kayaks but was put off because Kayaks2fish dont have a proper showroom where you can inspect the build quality etc. before you buy. This is the first time that I have seen a straightforward and honest appraisal and close up video of their kayaks.
    They seem to be well designed with lots of features together on one build that is very hard to get on most other brands but although Ive yet to see one in the flesh Im not sure of the build quality compared to some others in the same price range.
    Thank you again for providing a comprehensive insight into kayak use and skilled fishing. Ive learned plenty and the day is still young.

      Andrew, thanks for that comment. The 11.5 is very well built and another mate has now bought one and feels the quality is up with hobies with exception to the after sales service. Glad the videos helped.

    Legit video. Answers all my questions about this yak. I am lookong at these atm. This is a better option than an older secondhand Hobie in my opinion.

    Your videos are great. Really good detail.
    Could you please do a video on your a choring system and how you set up the anchor trolley on the 11.5.
    Thanks

    Hey Mate awesome video! Very informative I am looking at purchasing one myself, tossing up between a Kayak2Fish or a Hobie.
    I was wondering how stable yours is and can you stand up in your kayak?

      Hi Guy, it is very stable and I would suggest probable better than most Hobies with the exception of a PA12 or PA14. If I was to spend the cash and wasn't worried about the extra weight if the Hobie I would possibly look to a,second hand PA12 if I could get one around the $2500. I love the 11.5 as it is excellent and haven't had,any issues. Have had it a year now and it handles everything I have thrown at it, open water, swell and waves to about a metre, reservoirs and rivers; all good. Glad you like the videos. Alby Q

      Cheers. Yep, I am happy with your kayak too. Have lots of people inquiring about it when I am out. Even Hobie owners are impressed.

    I just got the same kayak today and have not yet put it in the water but have sat on the seat a few times and the seat ends started pulling out and marking up the slot up the front which made me wonder about how it would hold up long term has this been an issue on yours and how is it going after a long time (should i worry )

      You will find it will probably settle down once the hull shape settles with a bit if sun time. Mine is fine and I have no worries. I use mine a lot and all good. It is a great yak so enjoy

      Yes mate I do still like it. Now I have been outin it in all sorts of conditions including big swell where water coming over the front. With scupper plugs out the water drains very quickly. No design or warranty issues and it us starting to look very used now. The eski is a very light one designed by DUNE from either BCF or Anaconda. About $50 on sale. The later design, 11.5 version 2 is I think even better and if you get one, buy the rail system for it like hobie does. Great mounting system for your stuff like rod holders, sounder etc.

    Good walk thru mate, cheers, ive got the NG 11, its ok but it has the turning circle of a semi ,what do you think of the 11.5s turning circle? ,looks like the 11.5 has had a few improvements made like the drop down rudder, and the steering lever is better located, I'm thinking of upgrading soon, so any extra tips or thoughts on it would be appreciated

    • @albyskayakstuffaustralia3215
      @albyskayakstuffaustralia3215  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 11.5 has a great turning circle and in many cases can turn nearly in about 1.5 times its length. The slower the deed the bigger the circle but I find it great. I would suggest the drop down rudder is the reason why. I have also used the drive back to front to effectively reverse it and it is very easy. Overall I think it us a great alternative to a Hobie and the price point makes it a seriously good kayak. I have not discovered anything that gives me the shits so to speak and I use it probably twice a week atm. Re stability it is easy to stand up in and fish from.

    What kind of anchor and winch?👍

    • @albyskayakstuffaustralia3215
      @albyskayakstuffaustralia3215  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a divers reel for my 'winch' which I just reel in. I currently have a small star anchor from BCF but would not recommend that as in any current it will nothing in sand. There are small sand anchirs I am now going to look at getting for when needed.

    Hey Alby, how is overall ownership going? Keen to get a few different opinions / reviews from actual owners. Great video mate.

      Yes still very happy with the 11.5. I have been out a lot in varying water conditions from open water to rivers with strong currents and big flowing tides. Albeit the speed was slow in strong current; and I mean fast flowing I made headway. The yak is very stable and is still great as a fishing platform. Very happy.

      @@albyskayakstuffaustralia3215 that’s fantastic. Good to hear from an owner what their experience is like and that it’s for a decent length of time.

    Where do you store your fish??

    • @albyskayakstuffaustralia3215
      @albyskayakstuffaustralia3215  ปีที่แล้ว

      I generally use a soft eski behind the seat but if and when I target larger fish I also have a rolled up wet bag. I carry ice in the eski and have no issues. The rear deck of the 11.5 is huge so and has great bouyancy so no issues.
