*Very well-made, stable, comfortable **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love that everything fits in bag. Easy to paddle for single person as well, however might be too heavy to carry by one.*
Dude! This is one of the best videos I've seen on Kayak Walkthrough. I'm a geezer and newb to all this stuff. I wondered what kayak to buy for my first as I knew I wanted to do some mods. What I'm trying to say is ya awesome, and thanks heaps for no BS, straight to the point, and how everything sets up and what's possible. Cheers brother! ;)
Bro I liked the way you Explained everything great job 👍 one of the best videos I have seen in a very long time..nice to see some good Australian Bloke speaking. NOT a boring American
Great setup sticky. Like the modifications you have done. Thanks to the lock down we get this vid! WA is still ok I think. Went to the beach Wednesday morning and was about 10ish elderly people fishing. Guess not enough police to get people off the streets I guess here is WA
Mate, thanks for taking the time to show us your set up, I've got a dragon kayak that's similar, I've just got the 18 lb watersnake, it's perfect for trolling, seems slow, but amazing how much Territory you can cover in them, cheers mate, john
A bit late to the party here, but thanks for the run through. Every time I had a question pop up like "I wonder what battery he's using for the sounder?", you opened the box and showed us! Same for the big battery. Cheers mate!
easy the best walkthrough on a kayak ive seen been looking for ages to see if anyone has ran a 105ah deep cycle in a kayak as its the battery i have ATM didn't want to waste money on a new one
Few weeks ago pulled you up at the lights askin about ya yak was a few beers In haha top vid Ricky cant wait to get mine. Might see you on the tweed again one day.
Hey mate yeah I remember yeah good little kayak for around the tweed yeah mate you most likely will see me around up that way again thanks mate cheers 👍
Wicked Sticky! You've inspired me to do a run down on my Yak too :) What sort of waters do you use it in? Is it good for open ocean, or lakes only. We run our Yaks in Port Phillip Bay, which can get pretty rough quick, so you gotta be on ya toes. I think Victoria is the only state in which you CANNOT fish during the pandemic. WTF On Ya Sticky! Stay healthy brother
Hey mate I've only fished dams , bays ,rivers & lakes it handle them good but I haven't try open ocean in it would be alright on a real clam day if you stayed in close but not a bad kayak yeah we can fish in nsw as long as your social distancing but yeah be good to see your kayak setup take it easy & stay safe too mate thanks cheers 👍
You answered my questions thanks! What a great setup. Been kayaking for a lot of years but I’m about to get my first fishing kayak (just a cheaper BCF one for starters, not a lot of choice here for brands with only 2 shops selling kayaks). But was wondering how to power a sounder and an electric motor if I got one so you answered that for me. I won’t have pedal power so just my poor little arms working over time lol so electric motor might be the way to go. But now wondering if I have no way to steer other then using my paddle as a ‘rudder’ like I do for normal kayaking, if I put a motor on the side is it just going to propel me around in circles if I don’t steer using my paddle?? 🤷♀️ do you know if you can mount them on the back rather then on the side?
Hi mate check out the ( kayak 2 fish ) Kayak that's what mine is i can steer mine with electric motor on the side but reckonmend you get a 24 lb motor i have a 18lb that bit of extra power helps in the wind to turn if windy sometimes need my paddle to turn around but some kayaks you can put motor on the back of kayak just need to find some one that makes that style of kayak or look on TH-cam for ideas to do it your self make you own motor mount cheers 👍
like your vids mate.next gen 10 seems ok .i have a next gen 9 and it is very unstable with the high seat in i have to use a low one .wish i had bought a bigger one
Great review, thanks for all the info. Would you say this kayak is still worth getting for cruising around the bay even if I don't do much fishing? As opposed to getting a surf Kayak? This seems like you could be out for the day with the comfortable seat and storage.
No preference some times i like to kayak fish and sometimes boat fish but can go in shallow water with kayak and a bit more stealth yeah I go off shore all the time in the right conditions and it's fine 👍
I tried many one of those 24 lb water snakes comes with a side mount It was a hopeless case the mount provider with is not stable jerks around everywhere and the kayak only went around could only go around In a circle How long is all that going to take to vibrate to pieces. And if you capsize you going to lose everything
@@stickyfishyfishing yes I think you definitely need a larger kayak I think mine is too small. What I am going to give it another go with a smaller battery as it may not at wey it down as much
I don't take a esky mate I release most of my fish but if you don't use electric motor and battery you could put it on the back if I do keep fish I just take a cooler bag 👍
@@stevenliu9121 yeah mate I don't know any spots in Sydney I am in port Stephens but bream come and go could be good one day bad the next bream lime to hang around stuff like bridges, jetty , breakwalls stuff lime that my even try to Berley with bread see if that helps all even ask your local tackle shop they mite be able to help you out 👍
@@stevenliu9121 Watch "Windsor Bait and Tackle" and "Shroom". They fish the Parramatta River. For Bream, target mangroves, rock points, breakwalls and other structure. Manmade structure is also good, piers, bridge pylons etc. Bream like cover, so find the cover, find the fish.
I really wanna get one ,, but loading on roof by myself concerned me ,but I found methods by other ppl on how they do it solo . But then i have our ungodly ppl in government locking Sydney down , so I may never use it if I got one hmm Two words that sum up Sydney,, depressing and traffic God bless

Thanks mate yeah electric motors are good for trolling I have a 18lb but mite go to 24lb yeah they are not fast but beats padding mate cheers 👍
Hi john may I ask what battery you got with the watersnake, just picked one up, deciding on battery still , thanks

What a review! Sold me on that kayak and sounder!! is the mount just bolted down mate for the garmin sounder?
Thanks mate yeah just got the mount screwed down to the storage lid in middle of kayak 👍
Good video and setup! I'm thinking to set up a watersnake. Does your black battery box at your back protect your battery when you capsize?
Thanks no it doesn't protect if capsize just don't capsize 😷👍
Very good description mate....cheers !!
Cheers mate 👍
this video is a great help for me getting a kayak
Cheers mate 👍

Thanks for this video Are you taking it into the ocean fishing mate .
Thanks mate I haven't took it in the ocean yet to many big sharks where I live lol 🤣
like your vids mate.next gen 10 seems ok .i have a next gen 9 and it is very unstable with the high seat in i have to use a low one .wish i had bought a bigger one
Yeah the 10 is pretty stable mate the 9 look a bit different design and not as wide for stability cheers 👍
Nice work brother. Appreciate that.
Thanks mate cheers 👍
Great video sticky very informative!
Thanks mate cheers 👍
Spot on mate, just a question, how do you set the cables from your Garman to the power supply?
Thanks mate I just got joining clip that clip on to the battery watch from 5:20 in this video and I show it cheers 👍
Hi mate, what do you think about the kayak2fish nextgen 10 after using it a while. Looking at the nextgen mk2 at the moment. Thanks, Tony
That's a really cool set up man

whats a surf kayak?????
Great setup, pretty much what we are looking for.
pro trick : watch movies at kaldrostream. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies lately.
@Jordy Harlem definitely, I've been using Kaldrostream for since november myself =)
Mate do you have any preference on using the boat vs kayak? And can you take your tinny offshore or does it get a bit uncomfortable offshore?
No preference some times i like to kayak fish and sometimes boat fish but can go in shallow water with kayak and a bit more stealth yeah I go off shore all the time in the right conditions and it's fine 👍
mate, thank you very much. Exacttly what i needed to see. :)
No worries mate thanks cheers 👍
Hi mate. Is the motor gonna be damaged if the kayak tipped out?
Pretty sure the motors are waterproof as they are made for kayaks best thing is not to tip it lol 🤣👍
Awsome runthrough bro
Cheers mate 👍
Just letting you know you shouldn't connect it straight to the battery you should have a 25/30 amp fuse in between
Electric motor or sounder?
Nice setup 🤙chears for the rundown
Thanks mate cheers 👍

I been using mine over a year and its been fine the kayak I use is very stable too maybe that's why the motor works good on my kayak 👍
@@stickyfishyfishing yes I think you definitely need a larger kayak I think mine is too small. What I am going to give it another go with a smaller battery as it may not at wey it down as much
Hey mate, does fixing the transducer to that plate ever give interference on the sounder.?
Hey nah no problems yet with it mate works fine 👍
hey mate, what do you think about the outriggers as an add-on? do you think it necessary?
Hey mate never tryed the outriggers I don't really like em my self i find its good just how it is but would be more stable with riggers 👍
Hey mate ! Quick question! Where do you put your esky ?
I don't take a esky mate I release most of my fish but if you don't use electric motor and battery you could put it on the back if I do keep fish I just take a cooler bag 👍
Hi sticky can you tell me one of the best bream fishing spots. Thanks!
Best spots Where at ?
I live in sydney but we can’t seem to catch good sized bream so anywhere is fine
