I'm sure you will do fine. I tell most first timers, if it starts to get out of control, just shut the lid and shut the vents if possible. There's no need to use water and it could make it worse. Also get to know the levels in your grill if you have them. Works like an oven. As the coals start to burn away your food might start to cook a little slower. You can use the height adjustment to either move the coals closer to the food or away from it. Its takes time but the more you use your grill, you'll develop a technique. Have a good day.
Girl I went to Culinary school and work in the industry as a chef but charcoal grilling is not my strong suit lol! So thankful for this video. Forever learning!
And if you want to get rid of your laptop get a metal clamp put the laptop on it and undo it and there you go laptop destroyed! Make sure to have your dial pad up to call the fire fighters
Trying to learn because my significant other didn’t want to do a cookout. Trying to not be dependent and just be able to have a cookout whenever I want to.
Take your time and have a little patience and i think you’ll be ok. Once you get it started, cooking the food is another small hurdle. Anyway if you are using fluid make sure your coals are white and orange looking before you put your food on. You don’t want any of the residue affecting the taste.
Thank you very much. I tried to make it easy as possible. The only hard part is keeping the temperature at a certain degree but it will come with practice. Sorta like using a stovetop without thermometer.
That is awesome! I'm glad it worked out for you. Sometimes its really hard to follow instructions online and get it right. Hopefully you will have many more days grilled food. There's almost nothing better. 👍
It’s honestly better to use a chimney to light this. If you don’t have one, it is better to grab some twigs or starter for your fire and put that beneath the charcoal to get the heat to light the charcoal evenly.
My friend! Thank you, this was a lifesaver! We wanted to light a firepit but we only had charcoal. Your method was the only one that worked. Keep being awesome dude, always abide.
I just tried it...and his method works! I always thought that when the fire goes out you need to add more fuel and light it again...but all I had to do was wait! Thanks for this simple video ✨
Thank you very much. I tried to make it as simple as possible. Some people get impatient and try to add more fluid to the coals after lighting which will make your food taste kinda funny. Trick is to add just a bit to get them wet then let the residue burn off.
@@Meanpooh thank you so much for this tutorial. I thought that the fire was going out once the charcoal turned grey. When do you know to add more charcoal?
You shouldn't have to add anymore but if you have a thermometer on your grill and you notice that the temp is going down you could add more. Thing is some coals have residue on them and while it's burning off, it could get on your food. You have 2 options. If your heat is going low and you think you may need only 5-10 more minutes, you could lower the food to the coals provided you grill is adjustable. 2nd, you could use a chimney starter and have the coals ready to go. I have a video here. th-cam.com/video/YhGvGooFN8w/w-d-xo.html Theres also a card for the video in the top right corner of this video. All you have to do is just add them. Move you food to the side and then drop them in. Hope this helps. BTW, after a few grillings you'll know exactly how much to add. Its better to add more than not enough.
Glad I could help! Just make sure that all the coals are white before adding food and do not add any fluid while cooking. Food will be ruined. If you don't like using fluid there is a Chimney starter method that I have linked in the video.
Thanks for the tutorial! My boyfriend is on a fishing trip and I wanted to make some hamburgers tonite and haven’t grilled by myself in a while. Now ... I got this !!!! 😋
You’re welcome! I am also the same way. Propane is convenient but it’s no fun. Sitting out with friends downing a cold one while enjoying the aroma of briquettes and steak.
You're welcome. Make sure to have a hose just incase things get out of control. If you have a lid on your grill and things go south, just shut it and close all your vents. That should starve the flame without the need of water.
Alrighty! I think I'm ready to start cooking for the first time on my grill. My dad sent me some omaha steaks and I wanted to make sure I did this correctly. THANK YOU :) Wish me luck!
Honestly thank you so much 🙏🏻 Starting a grill is something ive been so terrible at but thanks to you... im nearly a master on the grill 💕🙏🏻🔥 I appreciate you!
