I am a longtime griller/smoker myself. Your expressions after tasting the steak damn near had me headed to the grocery to grab a pack of rib eyes. Great content!
Good video ! A tip for everyone. You can reuse the briquettes afer extinguishing them if you have enough left. Just rake them around to knock off the ash.
I’ll be 33 this year, only ever grew up using gas grills But I got to meet some of my girlfriends family down in Indiana a few weeks ago & all they had was a charcoal grill & when I was asked if I could grill all the meat for the party, me being the kinda guy I am I didn’t wanna put my tail between my legs so I said “Oh yea, I got ya!” 😂 happy to say everyone was impressed but man I had no idea what I was doing at first not gonna lie Safe to say, I enjoyed cooking over charcoal way more than a gas grill and I think that’s how I’m gonna grill from now on. Just can’t beat that flavor
Thought you were going to show "everything" about grilling??? What about cleaning the grate or dumping out the coals or scraping out the inside??? You showed none of the actual real work or dirty, dusty work of maintaining a charcoal grill and prepping it for the next cookout..A typical before and after video..
So I bought a Weber kettle a couple years ago so I could use the pizza accessories with it. I light a bed of charcoal for the outside edges and then use whatever firewood I have that won’t over smoke the pizza. I use fairly green cottonwood that we have an abundance here, and it gives the pizza a very mild Smokey flavor. Don’t use too green or you get too much smoke. Just not too dry or it’s got too much smoke as well! Blessings everyone .
Good info for the novice user. One addition. As soon as you’re done cooking run the ash sweep back and forth 5 or 10 times. This will remove any “gunk” before it solidifies in your bowl. I’m envious of that grilling area!
did everything you said. Been trying umteen different ways nothing works. Why? FYI other people have tried it on my grill and it went out after 40 minutes. What am i doing wrong?
Are those bricks pre coated in some sort of flammable liquid.. Can't believe a small little bit of tissue can heat up the coals.. I tried with the bricks and little fire lighters placed in between.. But as soon as the lighters burned away the coals just went cold
You don't need it with a chimney. Wadded up newspaper, wax coated bundles of woodshavings (sometimes called tumbleweeds), etc, are all you need to start a chimney.
You’re awesome buddy definitely know what you’re doing, I been cooking with kingsford on a Weber charcoal for years now and I have all the different accessories for it….Would never go to a propane bbq…the chimney and the charcoal baskets was the first accessory I bought for it…
Thank you for the tips! I just bought a charcoal grill and am excited to use it! Question: Can you reuse the charcoal that's been burned off already? Can you save it for next time? Thank you for this amazing, informative video!
Soooo ,ive always loved the taste of burgers ,steaks , anytning for that matter from a charcoal grill.... i have propane, and a smoker, and have nmbeen looking ,and studying charcoal grills for almist a year now....pk is soo expensive, soo its either this webber kettle , or a alpha-Joy 34 in grill walmart has.....getting ready to pull the trigger.....still ,not sure which one....
Just grilled a flank steak and chicken breast. I used mesquite charcoal. Amazing flavor too. I agree, using an oil soaked paper towel is super useful. I don't even need to air the flames, the oil makes the briquets light slower and even.
Regarding the maintenance when cleaning the grill and disposing of the coals, I plan on using this grill at a public park. How should I dispose of the charcoal when I'm finished cooking? I would need to toss them somewhere and make sure the grill is clean and cool before loading it back into my car
I love the oil on paper towel method for lighting my coals. I'm always paranoid that they wont actually light though so i usually drop one inside the chimney too before I put the coals in just to make extra doubly sure it lights really well
Hey just wondering buddy if you ever did a cold smoke on your Weber grill that's where you take the little tube light it up doesn't put out a lot of heat but the smoke does the work for you just wondering

I'm not a pro, but i have 8 grills in the background? 🤔 Huh?
I like the tips though!
I have about 5. My wife ask why so much.........i respond by asking why have nearly a dozen bottles of shampoo/body wash lol
Not all grills u see a flat top griddle, smoker, dual purpose(dual fuel), etc. Different purposes for different types of cooking
For instance the green egg grills is like a pressure cooker,...
Hank Hill disliked this.
Sweet lady propane
Taste the meat, not the heat!! 😂

I've used all kinds of grills and I still go back to my Weber Kettle. I just smoked some Beef Jerky this morning on it and it turned out fantastic.
nothing like some homemade jerky!🍻
how did you make it?
Man that is an awesome deck! You're living the good life!
Charcoal is a lost art now you got whimpy shit like ninja woodfire grill
🤣
Lost art? Shows you have very little experience.
This is a nightmare for someone who sells propane and propane accessories😳😂
🤣

Thanks so much loved how well you explained, what you were doing with the the temps and to leave the lid off to get temp up for the final sear!!!
Need to preheat your grill grate then add protein

Very good tips for beginners.Explained really well.Thank you
heeey its Leo DiCaprio!!
Not to hate, just new here in grilling.
But that grill seems dirty; isn't that bad for health?
State of New York don't believe in Memorial Day weekend.
I think they ban charcoal and gas grills!
What?!?!?
did everything you said. Been trying umteen different ways nothing works. Why? FYI other people have tried it on my grill and it went out after 40 minutes. What am i doing wrong?
Check the vents. Make sure nothing is clogged up and vents are clear. Also check your charcoal. Is it fresh or have you had the bag for a while now
You sound like your southside chicago polish
Kingsford is THE smokiest during light up.
This is a really good video with clear easy to understand instructions.
Well done!
Thank you
Thanks for all the tips, Homie!! Have a great weekend!💪
You're welcome. Thanks for watching! 🍻

The charcoal I use does not have any flammable liquid added. Not a fan at all of the liquid ones. The little starter cubes are all that’s needed.
You don't need it with a chimney. Wadded up newspaper, wax coated bundles of woodshavings (sometimes called tumbleweeds), etc, are all you need to start a chimney.
Do you save the leftover charcoal for future use and how would you do it?
Dude nice deck

Thanks for this detailed video. Very helpful

15:44 I don't know, a good sear on a cast iron skilelt is tough to beat (of course, you can put cast iron in the grill).

Another outstanding video. Well done sir!
Thank you🙏
Can’t beat a Weber 22 for starters for sure and seasoned grillers the same super easy
I grill all year around in my big green egg.
Nice
You’re like a TH-cam dad at this point for this video

I have not, but should definitely give it a try.
Thanks so much man!! Such a great tutorial!
Great intro to charcoal grilling! I use mine more than any other grill or smoker. So versatile! Always go with the kingsford.
You got that right!
Helpful, excellent video.
1 Steak is easy. Doing 4 Big steaks on a weber sucks!
I've done it before and it's a matter of managing each steak. Flip them one by one and follow the same process
That was a great video! I love cooking on a Weber kettle! Please do chicken kabobs on the kettle sometime!
Great idea!
Bro is a Sigma for telling me this 🙏
