Amen! I said the same thing I know how to do it myself but I love learning different styles and techniques.but it a blessing to get it from an elder in our community
Soak some card board on the bed of the grill with some cooking oil then spray your grill with cooking oil all over the inside and out. Add your charcoal on the soaked cardboard. Light the cardboard, wait for the charcoal to all turn a little gray which means they started. Once the flame goes out and the coals are putting off a lot of heat, close the lid and let the heat sit for an hour at 400 degrees. Your grill is seasoned and protected from the weather and your grill is ready to cook on. You don’t need lighter fluid, just patience.
Thnx for the video, watching this on Juneteenth as I'm planning to grill for family and friends at my new house. This video is exactly what I was looking for. I've been used to grilling with gas. First time I got a charcoal grill. This helps a lot 😊
FINALLY!! A video that shows from start to finish exactly what to do. Honestly, watching some of these vids on here, I still had questions. I totally messed up my first time grilling yesterday because the videos were not really informative. Thank You :)
Thanks for the helpful video. I bought the same exact charcoals and lighter fluid . It's my first time grilling this Memorial Day weekend. Now I know how to increase my fire. Thanks again.
Its funny he mentioned memorial day lol I'm watching this 3 years later the day before memorial day 2023. Good video thanks for info. I got a bigger grill and needed some tips thanks 100
Thankyou so much i was having a tough time starting a fire for my bbq pit. i youtubed and found your video and you are a life saver to say the least ! I have now adopted you as my uncle 😂😩🙌 .
I went to bbq some pork ribs and my fire went out twice I watched your video my ribs came out perfect smoke ring and everything thanks for this video brother.
Humorous video because so many things aren't ideal and you aren't really saving much time with these shortcuts. 1) Use a charcoal chimney starter. It's easy and your food doesn't taste like starter fluid. 2) If you use wood chips soak them overnight. That way they don't burn but you get the flavor. 3) If you go to flip and the meat is sticking that's because you didn't let the top grill get hot enough. Let it sit that way for a while top down 4) With all that room don't put the meat so close together so the air circulates... Having said all that I'd eat what he made right tf now lol. But I highly recommend a chimney starter and using no lighter fluid.
Omgg thanks for tip I been having a hard time keeping my grill lit I really dislike starting the grill over frfr & I love grilling my food thanks unc 💯
Thanks man, was trying barbecue with the fam and I see some mistakes we did. We kept adding thinking the fire was the key, but the coal had to turn white 😅. Many more lol heat important thanks that is the taste best taste ❤
Ps When using your chimney use a firestarter or you can use cooking oil on cardboard or newspaper under the charcoal, the cooking oil is to make the Fireburn flower so it will white the turkey better
One other thing I'm going to mention... there is a saying that if you're watching the food it's not cooking. The top down creates a crucial heat circulation. If you have the lid up the whole time you are mostly cooking the bottom side. He definitely closes the lid to cook. But just want to note that because when you are starting you think you want to look the whole time.
Just a quick tip....you dont need lighter fluid to light the coals. Add some news paper and put the charcoal on top. Make sure its getting air and light. 😊
Please tell, what’s in the plastic bottle you’re doused the fire out with..I’m a woman with a husband that doesn’t know how to keep the fire going and what to squirt on the goals as you did. But I got it down pat how soak the goals and let the fluid burn off. Please Help. Thanks kindly
Thank you for the vid. New to grilling and I don't know what I'm doing wrong but after opening the lid to check on my proteins the temp goes down and never goes back up after closing the lid. Do you have any suggestions on how I can keep the heat going high for a much longer period? Thank you in advance.
Keep your family safe OG, don't toucj anything with the hand that you used to handle raw meat until after you clean your hands. Good luck with the channel.
That was an absolutely beautiful fire I must admit. Also in love with your personality. You MUST be from the South because of how down to earth you are? Edit: And I DID think that before the movie reference and nearboutready or whatever it was that you said lol.
A chimney charcoal starter would be a lot easier and have all your coal on one side of the grill so you can have a hot side and a warm side the hat side is for cooking fast. The warm side is for cooking slower.😊
As I was searching youtube on tips I said to myself nah, I need to see someone from my culture. Thanks UNC!
I said the same thing I didn't feel right listening to anyone else
I said the same shit 😂😂😂😂😂
Great minds 😌 👌
Amen! I said the same thing I know how to do it myself but I love learning different styles and techniques.but it a blessing to get it from an elder in our community
👏👏👏👏
Skipping out on lighter fluid will give you a cleaner burn and better tasting food. Charcoal chimney is the way to go here
#ThisIstheWay coals like Santa before the flames😂
THIS IS THAT UNCLE EDDIE MURPHY WAS TALKIN ABOUT FOR REAL FOR REAL!!! HE GOES THROUGH 1BOTTLE OF LIGHTER FLUID EVERY TIME HE GRILLS 😂 😂 😂

I see all the woman up here grilling for the first time lol. He look like he know what he doing 🤣 reminds me of my dad 🤍
Don't listen to him he didn't even have his coals ashed over, and he used too much lighter fluid.
Lol @@Oldhollywoodfilms621
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the bird chirping in the video. I just love that when out doors and cooking on the grill.
Next time I grill I’m going to try this. My fire don’t stay lit. I ran to TH-cam for help. Yours is the first tutorial to pop up.
Don’t use lighter fluid.
@@danielm7435 👍🏾it definitely can be tasted in the meat 🤢
Don't forget to rub or spray the surface with oil to keep ya meat from sticking!!

This video is so peaceful. I love the simple things in life.

Brother, get a charcoal chimney. arrange your coals in a pyramid like it says on the charcoal bag or lighter fluids container.
You don't need a fire, bro
It’s Memorial Day again and I’m watching
Lol! Me too!!
Thank you for your video. I'm so glad to see someone who grills like I do. Appreciate it man.

@@lifewiththejeffersons5798 you too!
Bruh this is why he’s not the one the family calls to bbq. All that lighter fluid is going to assassinate those taste buds.

This really helped! I was not using enough lighter fluid! Thnx Unc!
Nope, you didn't put your coals in a pyramid like it said you should on the bag or the container of fluid.
Spin tricks with the lighter was the best part! Haha thanks for the tips man!
We rolling) lol I feel you thanks for the tips OG✅
Hi Jeffersons, I like the easy way in which you started the fire! You enjoyed it too. Let's keep connected. # growing together

You guys sure like your food.. Its coming into winter here and i wish i was standing next to it.. Brrr its cold
Tell me about the vents. I have 2 on each side and one at the top. Do I leave them closed or open 1 or..... ?
So you squirter cooking oil to keep the fire going?
No he was using Water to keep the fire from flaring up
Now that’s a Fyer 🔥🔥🔥
My thoughts exactly, lol
what is in the bottle
Vinegar and water this helps the fire to go down without putting it out completely
Blove sent me and I'm glad because I learned something new.
#cookingchunks #professional
Would it be safe if I were to spray my grill with non stick cooking oil to prevent food from sticking to the grill ?
