- Tata motors has tread an ambitious and tough path throughout its almost three decade of existence in the passenger car market. And the flag bearer of Tata’s family of toughies is the Harrier. Being just over a year old, the Harrier has to carry quite the weight on its shoulder, especially when you consider it’s got some iconic predecessors to live up to.
In this video we have got together Tata’s most iconic vehicles like the Sierra, Sumo, Safari and the Hexa. Being the elderly in the family, each car has their own set of advice to give to the young Harrier. Also coming up next is the Tata Gravitas to be launched soon, which we expect to benefit from Tata’s vast experience with building SUVs.

Goosebumps man! I was 7 when I first saw the Sierra in flesh and immediately fell in love with it! And that love continued with all the iterations TATA came up with. That intro video, when Sierra burst into the frame was so emotional in many ways! That emotion which made me buy a TATA despite many of my relatives saying don't! I'm proud of my purchase! I drive a Tigor BTW 👍🏼

Mayne! I was completely swooned over Tata Sierra when it was first launched. I just wanted to have it so desperately. It was almost like what the previous gen Honda Civic did to most of us. Regardless, I wouldn’t want to have one but I know it would blow me away if I happen to see one on the street and would DEFINITELY want to own one again. It’s emotional. Very emotional.

You made a Die Hard TATA fan cry like anything. The moment I saw a glimpse of it on your channel as a recommendation for me, I was like This is the only thing, the only video that makes sense. The way Sumo & Hexa were riding behind the Harrier. The phenomenal entry of the phenomenal SUV, the Daddy of SUVs, the pioneer of SUVs, The Sierra gave me a different level of adrenaline rush. Also, the advt. of the Safari really throttled the introduction of it to another level. You can't ever beat the comfort levels & the presence on road of these Biggies for sure. If at that time too GNCAP existed, TATA vehicles would have made it to 5 Star ratings for sure. The build quality was beyond everything. Yes, you have mentioned correctly all the points that the Harrier can inherit from these ICONS. These are not vehicles, these are ICONS.
The TATA Group has always made us proud globally by proving & showcasing that what actually is being Indigenously Global.
Yesssssss, we all need the revamped versions of the Sierra, Safari, Sumo & Hexa. For that matter, how can we forget the luxurious TATA Estate.
I wish to own an entire fleet of these legends.
I know I have written a lot here. It might seem exaggerated for many. However, I am still short of words & will always be to praise this legacy.

I share a great bond with the SUMO, my dad bought 2 Sumos in 1997 from the showroom loaded with AC other accessories for his travel business venture. I sat in it for hours when one of them was at home as a curious/car loving 2 year old, we also went everywhere in them including Mahabaleshwar, Goa, Gir forest etc. We sold them in 1999 or 2000 but my dad's friends had Sumos too so I sat in the other ones too multiple times, and we borrowed them to go out of town with family so I am fortunate to have sat in a lot of 1st Gen Tata Sumos before moving out of India in 2004, on the other hand, I only sat in the Sumo competitor Qualis once when we went to Nashik in 03, it was a smoother ride than the Sumo for sure, but I still love the Tata Sumo forever.
Extremely thankful for the video, I was all teary eyed at the entry of the Sierra and the Safari and the Dicor 3.0 Reclaim your life ad brought out the child in me to quickly listen to my ring tone in a loop.
It was this the reason why I chose to be part of Tata Motors 😊

I remember safari dicor was my crush and i wanted it so badly. That was the time when our financial condition didn't allow us to get that beast. And when we were financially ready, safari got discontinued. Ended up with the harrier. Instead of giving some proper updates, tata discontinued those legendary cars. And now what we have in market? Fake suvs which are more gadgets than cars. No proper ride and handling, no solid built and no fun.
Hexa is last of its kind and we are not sure about its future.
Missing the fun. Missing the monsterous feel. Missing the rwd 400nm beast. Missing the real SUVs.
I am lucky to have safari 3 lit dicor for 10 year's and yes safari gave filling of king when you drive. Last month i sold that beast because of insufficient availability of spare part. I own two cars from ford ecosport and freestyle but sufari always my first love. Waiting for 2020 expo if tata lounch new safari i will definetly go for beast.
Nostalgic moment for every car enthusiast from their childhood... I am a 90's kid and I know how much I love safari & sumo.
