Possibly one of the campest Halloween outfits I've seen!
I love the way you repurposed original parts and combined them with your own creations. I wondered how a Bop-it toy worked - I assumed it would be quite cheaply done but very clever engineering to get all the different actions to ultimately just press a button for the microcontroller to register. I think your version of Bop-it is actually better than the original - extremely creative!

Awesome work, Devin. I love watching your project videos.
Here's a protip I discovered: when a design calls for rubber bands, use silicone cooking bands. They are way more durable and save the frustration of having to replace regular rubber bands when (not if) they break.

    • @looh

I got my Anet A8 in january and there are a tons of things that i've learned just by getting the printer. I basically started with 0 knowledge.
I started to upgrade my Anet A8 to make it more safe and easier to use (so i learned a bit about electronics, physics, power etc. - dug out my old soldering iron and much more). Now i'm becoming a fairly good 3D designer when it comes to modelling something (that can be of course printed out later on) and even make some money off of it.
And my ANET A8 is currently delivering a better print quality than an older generation Ultimaker 2 or other $700+ printers.
However, if i would've got a 3D Printer for $3000 in the first place, which is perfectly assembled and you just have to print stuff with it, i wouldn't have learned nearly as much as i did with the $160 ANET A8 Kit.
It is complicated, but it is a lot of fun. And once you understood and learned something, you'll keep it forever.
Also keep in mind, that 3D modelling and designing is a high-paid job. So even if you don't want to print something, you could still create 3D models and sell them, or join a company who needs 3D designers.

Pretty fun costume you made their Devin. It's amazing what you can do with that 3-D printer. I know you don't work with electronics too much, but one tip after soldering the wires is using heat shrink tube over the connection, you'll probably lose that tape within a year. It's not expensive at all, you can get a whole kit from Temu under 10 bucks. It's nice to have on hand. Please except this advice as constructive.

You are really creative! I'm actually surprised you don't know how to sew. You should learn! It's really not that hard. Although, I think hand sewing is easier... takes longer, but still easier, for me anyways. I also love doing cross stitch designs. That would be something cool! What about a 3d printed cross stitch? Like, have it half finished, with a needle attached to a string. I wonder how difficult that would be...

You are a genuis holy crap. You are an incredible designer and it really inspires me that you are designing objects that you actually need in your everyday life, then creating them yourself. It is awesome man. I am 14 and taking and engineer 3D design class, and an AutoCAD class. On the collage campus we have access to lots of 3D printers, and an amazing laser helix. I have one question though. I see you use fusion 360 for a lot of parts, but I was wondering if you have ever tried Autodesk inventor? It seems a lot like fusion 360. I want to thank you for inspiring me man.
