Congrats to 20k and love me some money, gift cards, or anything that’s given away😄 Also very kind 8f you Brian for giving away “appreciation gift” to a subscriber of the channel. Know dint have to do, and we surely appreciate the generous gift. Cheers and to another 20k of subs✌🏻
Owner of CTI Home Inspection in Jasper, Indiana. I see everything you talk about all the time. Doesn’t matter if it’s new or old. You do a great job of explaining everything so hopefully your channel keeps growing. I bet if you were able to do a before and after both viewers and customers would like that a lot. Just a thought. Stay safe up there.
Yep, I watched to the end with the bug and I'm not a bot. Looking forward to the give away and hope I'll not be traveling during that time and miss it! As always, learned something more as I do with each of your videos. Thanks.
Ah man! I'm a property investor and I never considered animals getting in the attic by crawling up trees and what not, your videos are 🔥 man. Anyone and everyone can learn something from you 🤙
Hey Brian, great video. Brings back memories of critters climbing up my trees, getting into the attic, making all sorts of noises while I was trying to sleep. House built in 1994, we moved in January 2004. In 2012, we had a home inspection to identify any new issues since our pre-purchase inspection, and he confirmed the critter damage and water damage in the corner of the MBR, and a hole in the decking where one of the trees rested on the roof. He recommended cutting back the trees to prevent the squirrels and chipmunks from getting back in. But since most were pine trees and not shade trees and were close to the walls as well, we had them all removed before the roof replacement. Taking them out also enabled an excavation and replacement of the black corregated drainage pipes with PVC pipes on that side of the house. I think I mentioned in previous comments to videos and your live stream, that I'm located in Uniontown, OH. So we have the same weather pattern. Nice cool days with pretty foliage.
Hi, just watch your video and leaned a lot. Thanks. I have many roofs issues on my 2 year new bitumen roof. Hope to hear your advise. 1. I hear water 💦 dripping on colder days, especially at night surrounding fireplace, next to it the bookshelf wall occurs like moldy spots. 2. Ever since having new roof I discovered my ceiling and interior walls of my house shows shallow concaves spots and big grafs(bumping marks from moving furniture). Paints became bubby at certain ceilings . 3. On sunny day, the attic is very very hot and it permeates strong- like tartly smells. This is an 85 year- old house in SF, ca Thanks .. love to hearing from you and anyone who likes share knowledge on these issues
1:41 MONEY….going out on a “limb” here😉 and saying: think everyone watching LIKES MONEY, why would ya not, lol… Now if only had triple what get monthly so can buy more tools; or what my family calls it: my professional toys: aka pro toys (or “proys” ….yep agree; it’s crackers or sound’s whacky etc….). Thanks Brian for the vids ya make, as have your own “style” and vids have a POV that you keep with and keeping t(em consistent is nice! as having a channel that goes everywhere and nowhere, makes for some “interesting” vids and content. So THANK YOU! and even after 30+ yrs in the Trades, STILL LEARN NEW THINGS; and even from your channel👍🏻👍🏻 Have a good one and stay warm😉 (even here in Florida this past week, I took out my hoodies as chilly in morning and at night; which ppl visiting think we are nuts! But 55°F - 65°F can be wee bit chilly for us who live in Florida (or south) all year ‘round when we used to greater than 100°F + High Humidity most of the time, and when it’s 35°F in winter…..it’s WINTER CLOTHING AND GEAR as that feels like -10°F for us, which I know; it’s crazy😅 as used to live in Michigan and wear T-Shirt and sweats/gym shorts in middle of winter (15°-30°F and feel warm), but not anymore 🥶🥶😶🌫️😶🌫️ L8Rs ✌🏻
Thank you I appreciate that! Yeah the chilly nights, we've actually had a light freeze and frost this week. Trying to mentally prepare and considering shutting down.
Some insurance companies cover raccoon damage but not squirrel damage. I’d have the homeowner check with their agent and ask them if raccoons are covered or excluded. With those pieces still laying up there it looks like it’s somewhat fresh and any recent winds would have blown them away from the area they were torn from. Sometimes you can find foot prints or droppings to verify the type of animal damage it is. Definitely would want to set some traps as well to try and catch the animal before doing repairs. Catching the critters is usually never covered by insurance companies. Good thing the holes are still small and not big yet because if they get into the attic then it really sucks especially if they start urinating and crapping everywhere. Sometimes they even have babies which can be even more costly.
Critters like squirrels and chipmunks can ALSO JUMP VERY FAR! Even if trimmed branches away from roof, doesn’t mean some critters aren’t jumping into roof still, just fyi😃
Shitty install/criter but the critters trying to get in proves smarter then the roofer who says man I shingles that look how awesome it looks driving by at 35 hehe
we tarp our roof and we might did the wrong thing coz the leak might not be from the roof but from the heater behind the ceiling. Now, how can we repair the roof with the nail damage we did?
Everyone uses TAR in Florida and typical roof takes 2 weeks in average to install……and they put the paper on deck, drip edge over that (no Apron, far as know….98% drip edge and 99% Tar), and than gloop bunch of Tar over that “edge” and also up valleys, around chimneys….. Just saw company do neighbors roof and took 3 weeks, and used 10 gallons of Tar (house is roughly 1450-1600 ft²
Hopefully you'll get a little bit of traffic from a private Facebook group from roof maxx. Many of the new dealers are not roofers and need to learn how to do repairs.
Theres a hole in the roof, should we fix it? Nah, just put a crappy plastic vent over it. Hey by the way Chuck, you seen a suspicios amount of crazy-ass squirrels running around? Its like they have lead poisening er somethin'.
Lake Village, Indiana. If I win, then I'll give you an opportunity to win it back in a cornhole playoff lol If I double win, then you have to stop highlighting videos of my tar repairs! 😂
Ahhhh, so your more like a "ROOF GONE WRONG" investigator, eh! Like Federal Agent of NCIS - LAS ANGELES, G. Callen...your celebrity character look-a-like! "Book 'em Danno"!
Brian, I don't know WTF you on bro. That is clearly wind damage, the wind kept hitting the tree causing it to move and damage the roof. If there was no wind it wouldn't happen. 🤷♂️ Time to go in, tell em to file a claim and if they pay ya in cash you'll kick back 50% of their excess. Dude out here claiming to be a roofer SMH. 🤣
Every bad roof is different. It's interesting to see exactly what's wrong with the roof. Not a waste alot of people find it interesting to see roof up close.
I just got new soffit and gutter but by doing that does shingles didn’t overhang at all anymore they installed metal drip edge but I went and put shingles underneath to hang over half an inch just to be on the safe side I hope I did the right thing
I think it has more to do with the manufacturing process of the shingle, the ingredient blend ratios and temperatures with the oxidized asphalt. If you've ever made caramel and you heat the sugar a degree to high or too low it will turn very brittle and not yield the product you're looking for. Similar with asphalt.
Congrats to 20k and love me some money, gift cards, or anything that’s given away😄

Thanks!
Good detail analysis
Dayton OH! I’m 5 weeks in to roofing and your videos have been so helpful! The algorithm suggests them the day you put a video out!
Thanks for the feedback on the algorithm!
I used your videos to learn how to roof over my house. I always enjoy the details, hello from Vancouver, BC, Canada
Another quality video Brian. I'm i Vancouver Washington, just north or the Columbia River from the Peoples Republic of Portland.

Great job brother. Watch all the time from Harlan County KY.
I've learned so much from this channel. Watching from Wheatfield, IN. Thanks for all the hard work and content Brian!
Thanks for the video, I Love watching all you're videos. Here in SW FL we need far more honest contractors across the board.
St Pete Florida! Thanks for the videos! You do a great job!

In the Chicagoland area they luckily don't dine in the fine lead 😊
I like this channel. You show me everything I did wrong.🤪😜
Watching from Tampa Bay. Well done! I'd hire you.
Congrats on 20k, thanks for the videos I just did a diy roof job with the help of your videos watching from southern Wisconsin
Charlotte NC. Keep up the good work.
Thanks
enjoy your videos. not in you area im in texas
Thanks another great video. I am from Central Illinois and squirrels can can cause roof damage around here as well. Be safe on those roofs .
Nice job of some not-so-handyman covering a hole with a vent. I'm about 2 hours northwest of Kokomo in Lake County (which is horrible.)
Im learning a lot
Love watching your channel! I work in kokomo and live outside the big town of Denver!
Nice, it's nice to know there are people in my hometown area watching. Thanks Jon! Maybe one lucky day I can meet you to give you the prize.
That roof is the worst you showed on this channel. Florida showing love to ya
Love the content bud... eat that bug... protein 😆
Critters like squirrels and chipmunks can ALSO JUMP VERY FAR! Even if trimmed branches away from roof, doesn’t mean some critters aren’t jumping into roof still, just fyi😃
Yes very true, but if the Critter has the choice of a simple walkway to the roof it will more than likely do that. Let it be the neighbors not yours.
Love your videos! What do you use for your ladder stabilizer?
Shitty install/criter but the critters trying to get in proves smarter then the roofer who says man I shingles that look how awesome it looks driving by at 35 hehe
Critter damage or maybe a branch hit it. Not wind
Good stuff as usual thanks à lot boss 👍
Regarding thermal cracking where 2 shingles abut, is there something an installer can do to prevent it? or it just happens with age in your region?
we tarp our roof and we might did the wrong thing coz the leak might not be from the roof but from the heater behind the ceiling. Now, how can we repair the roof with the nail damage we did?
Critter damage , big time, feel me milando
Property Escalation Case Manager for Sunrun solar here from Visalia, Ca! Do what you do a lot too
Kalispell Montana very old and wore out roof.

3 weeks holy shit.
Wow. I've done houses that size in less than a week on my own. That's doing everything correctly too.
I see a mess. Roof does need to be replaced and probably more roof boards that can't be seen. I agree with the brick chimney it should be removed.
I’m gna have to win this giveaway too 😅
Looks like they hired the cheapest bid a few times already, good luck!
Did you say you don’t put on roofs or you just don’t video your roofing work?
I've been roofing for almost 20 years, for the past five I've been running the company not installing personally.
Sadly there actually are contractors who will call that storm damage
Hopefully you'll get a little bit of traffic from a private Facebook group from roof maxx. Many of the new dealers are not roofers and need to learn how to do repairs.

Ain't no starter shingle here either
southern wisconsin here, i'd like to win a hammer like yours in the 20k giveaway woo hoo !!
More like 6 and a half of them!
Pass it’s due date for a new roof!
I hate walking rafter to rafter until after it's resheated. Dead wood is trying to turn this shingler into a carpenter
🤮Now that's what I call a good ending and bugging out🤔🤭
😆 🤣
From California, "I want amazon gift card" thanks 😊 🙏 ☺️ 🙂 😀 😄 😊 🙏 ☺️ 🙂

I could see from the street it needs a new roof. Waste of time
Every bad roof is different. It's interesting to see exactly what's wrong with the roof. Not a waste alot of people find it interesting to see roof up close.
Wow that roof is horrible looking. Like I would say one of the worst.
I just got new soffit and gutter but by doing that does shingles didn’t overhang at all anymore they installed metal drip edge but I went and put shingles underneath to hang over half an inch just to be on the safe side I hope I did the right thing
