You captured the Redline that never was...but should have been perfectly! Hell, kids would have been beating each other up on the playground to get it. Adding the “tonneau cover that always gets lost” was absolutely the perfect Hot Wheels touch.
This turned out fantastic! What a great idea. We always modernize the older cars, why not age newer ones!
Leaving the flaws in it was a perfect choice. Most people don't realize how many were in them back then and even now. Definitely get my vote!

Nice idea from Diecast Resurrection. It's quite the oposite of what we think of custom. This is kind of taking a custom to normal, or modern casting to vintage. For sure it ended up looking really sweet.

Wish this had been a real thing back in the day. I owned all of the original HWs in the metallic green finish! Obviously this was before the Internet and the nostalgia craze because I would no longer have a mortgage if I had kept them for sale now! Love this project!

I always watch Austin's channel and I followed the link to here. Austin went with plating his firebird and you didn't on your truck. I thought it would not turn out at all. I was surprised how awesome it looked. I love the work you put into it. If i had to pick between the 2.. you won.
1) a truck 2) spectra flame truck 3) low rider (fits with the 70s) 4) bearing wheels (mind blown)
4) made a cover for the bed (typical of matel at the time) so thats why I thought you won

Nice Spectra Flame effect without zinc plating, polish only. Hot wheels probably wouldn't have done that with a sunroof or slammed, but they should. 👍

Dammmm that apple green is sweet, i think the stance you give it looks better than it was to start with, although i do understand why you didnt want to slam it though as it wasnt around back then but you sure rocked this one bro
Ps... i use the same hand vice as you do and i think itmakes you more careful as you drill
Personally advocate for the hand vice with a softer material, less speed on the tool, and you can weight the piece back into alignment....
