  • Almost 1 year from picking up the keys to our Gran Couple I shined some light on it to give it its moment. Its a brilliant and underrated car.

Bought one of these 220i’s from Inchcape Chelmsford in February this year. Less than one year old and absolutely loving it. Things I miss are front/rear cameras and fixed camera detection on the sat nav - these were all on my previous car. Handling is good and fuel economy isn’t bad.

Ahh great choice! Yes could have more tech in them but remember they are the baby saloon of the fleet

It's a good car mate....so much better than an electric equivalent....❤

      100% ICE all the way

I thought the spec nippy enough, better than most. I'm thinking of buying one and the 218 seems more like what you're saying for ambling around, while the 235 is a hot car, far more than I'd want. Another reviewer caused quite a lot of tyre squeal on a bend in the 220 and criticised the car. I don't know what he did but it made me wonder.

I prefer to not have the smallest engine in the car range, sometimes they feel abit sluggish and can lose mpg as the small engine is always struggling but it all depends on what and how you drive. The tyre squeal on the other hand is down to the driver pushing the car too hard

Same as Vics comment, I'd prefer to drive round in this than have range anxiety in a super heavy electric monstrosity

1 minute to fill up and off you go again, lovely

I went from a CLA to one of these and absolutely regret it, the alloys are nasty, no cameras, and it gets so dirty so easily.

Interesting! the first bad comment ive had about it. ours has a reverse camera and sensors all round? Alloys can be changed for a different set when specing one or buy after market if you're getting one second hand. just keep on top of cleaning it? very minor issues imo haha

What is you average fuel consumption on that 2.0 engine?
Is it thirsty with a normal commute drive?

    • @Lukuss
      @Lukuss  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

No it's actually very good! With combined driving we can easily get 40mpg, much more on longer runs and have seen above 50mpg before

@@Lukuss Oh, that is actually very good for a 2.0 petrol engine!
If you can tell me, what is the maintenance cost of a car like yours ?
Any problems out of normal, or is everything according to the makers standard maintenance plan?
Sorry for so many questions 😅, but I'm planning on buying the same 220i version and I want to be sure of what I will be getting

I'm a fan of BMW, but what l really don't like about this brand is the following. First and foremost I'm not a fan of front wheel drive cars and I don't know why BMW decided to make the 1&2 series front wheel driven and then they went on to make the X1/X2 also front wheel drive they've should stuck to rear wheel drive I'd like to see the 1/2 series in rear wheel drive configuration the first and second generation 1 series was rear wheel driven. Please BMW stick to what you're known for I like all the new car designs from the XM, IX,7,5 Series I don't care what critics say BMW is just a car brand to be reckoned with it's a TOP BRAND, but I would like for them to stick to their principles. BMW all the way above any other German brand to me.

Love BMW but I think changes the 1 series front RWD to FWD was smart, especially for the UK. BMWs were famously bad in the winter for being RWD but front wheel drive has made them better in that sense. It also makes them cheaper to insure and safer to drive for the younger generations that pass their test and think they're Max Verstappen so from a business point of view, was a smart move
