      @Mason George Yep that is true, there isn't any problem with your comment . The way it is written infers that the video or the title suggest this was a '71 that came with a Boss '9 when pretty much anyone who is a real Ford or Mustang person already knows that......hence my initial response. Wasn't trying to rain on your comment.

    Those 1969 heads have all the O-Rings in the head so it's very difficult to R and R that head in the car . !970 was much easier because the O-Rings are in the block . So did they open the quench combustion chambers to make it a true Hemi and it still has staggered valves ? Right .

    How is this car and 1964/5 mustangs part of the same generation? Please explain.

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      William, This is just the nomenclature used to describe the vehicle platform. Even though their are obvious and significant differences the class of the first generation is still considered 65 to 73. Within that subset of course you have a further subset of 65-6,67-8,69-70 and 71-73. It is by definition Ford's own definition of the evolution of the Mustang.
      The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by Ford from March 1964 until 1973.
      Second generation (1974-1978) "Mustang ll era"
      Third generation (1979-1993) "Fox Body era"
      Fourth generation (1994-2004)"SN95 era"
      Fifth generation (2005-2014) "S197 era"
      Sixth generation (2015-present)"S550 era"

    • @williamjordan5554
      @williamjordan5554 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MustangConnection1 If you mean platform as in Fox body platform, it's still difficult to see how the 1973 and 1965 mustangs share the same platform. I guess it's just arbitrary.

    Numbers matching Boss 351's are going for $55-65k at the auctions, so this engine didn't hurt or help the selling price. I bet this sucker gets up and goes!

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Chris Perrin The period era motor( early Boss 429 block and heads) are worth a small fortune on their own. This was a custom restomod that unfortunately didn't resonate with enough of this particular auction audience. So yes this brought "normal" money if you will but the seller walked away with far less after transportation costs, insertion fees, and auction commission.

    good video on a fantastic car...hes 100% right...the 64.5s, 65, and 66 models would not accomadate the "FEs"....they wouldnt fit with a greased shoehorn without expanding the shock-towers and many racers did that very thing. then in 67 they could hold the "FEs" alright but were going to be a lil tight with their upcoming "Clevelands" and the "Lima" series which would be "iffy" if at all....69 and 70s wouldnt hold a "Shotgun" without help from kar-kraft. so FORD decided to finally build a platform which would hold any of their 4 engine families including the hemi which makes it 5....seen a MEL installed in one so 6...427SOHC makes it 7...so the least favorite of the series up till that time..."too-big...too-heavy" were the complaints, but this "long-nosed mustang" as they were called were a few gearheads favorite. both the cuda and camaro were huge and "heavier" by the 70s too, compared to their 60s variants, but nobody complains about that. if im not mistaken the 70-71 Torino would..."hold em all" too...in the 80s, i put an "FE" in a 70-Torino GT that never came in them, with all factory parts and even the "shaker" went right back in its spot....i also had a red on black "long-nose Mach" myself......and loved it.
