    Really a great car and they spared no expense on the restoration. Would have a very hard time restoring a car to that degree for that amount of money.

      +Rusty “rustyglovebox” Glovebox He took a loss for sure, 800 labor hours at a top notch shop is what he said and that doesn't account for all of those NOS parts or the car itself. This was a deal for sure.

    If I bought it, it would come out a couple times per year. A pony needs to run once in a while.

    Damn you just never know. I would have paid that for this car in a heart beat. Every time I look at one they are pushing close to 100K.

      +mrdci This was a steal at this price and and a Yellow Boss 302 at the same auction and not nearly as nice went for well over a 100k

    Great Deal & Looks to Be That RARE BURNT METALLIC GOLD OR IF ITS GRABBER ORANGE,IS VERY GLOSSY. TRIED TO BUY ONE WHEN I GOT BACK FROM NAM IN LATE 60'S. TURN KEY STREET RACE CAR.FORD UNDER H.P.THEM FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES,I GUESS.ACTUAL H.P. WAS CLOSER TO 330 & W/ 3:91 REAR,COULD STAY UP W/ MOST BIG BLKS. JUST LIKE THE 71 BOSS 351

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a Grabber Orange car. The Boss 302 is a great overall performer and was obviously good around corners too. Too bad you didn't get you hands on one back in the day.

    Love the styling of that car. Orange is my favorite Boss color. That engine should be 50 or so horse, more than stock

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is one of the iconic Boss 302 colors for sure. Yes they had way more than 290HP box stock for sure.

      +scottsinfl Then you should paint it that color with some blacked out treatments to set it off that would be cool.
      Hope all is good down in FL

    Wow someone stole that beautiful Boss

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Rarerat No way you could even come close to getting a car to this level let alone the car itself. If I had the money at the time I would have easily gone after this one, a STEAL!

    back in the mid-eighties I picked up a 1970 Mustang Fastback it had a 351 Cleveland 4 speed transmission 9-inch rear end with 350 gears in it I notice it had Stripes coming down the inside of the door jamb it was a Shaker car just about gave the car away money-wise I wonder if it was a boss car with it being a shaker hood at all too late now

    • @jameszucco382
      @jameszucco382 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      it also had staggered shocks on the rear end 9-inch rear end at that and it had to fold down back seat good memories in that car

    • @fangcheck9141
      @fangcheck9141 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found a beater 69 mustang 302 4 speed , staggered shocks, no side scoops in 1982 for $1200, it was a G code car should have got it

    • @jadensantiago5583
      @jadensantiago5583 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      James Zucco there were 3 BOSS cars made, the BOSS 302 and BOSS 429 were made in 1969 and 1970 the third BOSS 351 did not come out until 1971, so with that being said no your car was not a BOSS simply because it didn't have the correct engine displacement.

    Did Sam say how much he was hoping to get for it?

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +ehrldawg He said he wanted to net at least 75k which would have meant a hammer price of 82k. I thought that was more than reasonable given this cars condition and the overall market.

      Without a doubt, it takes a lot of effort and cash to get it to that standard.
