Yes especially the cheaper ones I’ve had my g920 forever, great and I’ve learnt a lot off of it that certainly translates well

It’s good if you have a PC, honestly I only had it on my desk for a little bit before getting a proper seat and unit for the wheel.
But if you have a gaming PC, Beam ng, asseta, or even forza are good to learn the basic mechanics of understeer/oversteer in a car. You could see what happens if for example you dumped the clutch on a rwd car or lock up the brakes, it gives you unlimited attempts and a good way to understand and get a basic ‘feel’ of what a car would do.
I have autocrossed for the last few months, and I believe my sim has helped me a bit with reactions of over/understeer in those situations. I also love cars and car games, and assuming you do too since you’re on Alex’s channel.

Yeah well worth. I’ve used it continously for three or four years now, but it’s about time for an upgrade. The G920 is the old logitech model, it uses gears and you can kinda tell, the newer logitech model and other higher end wheels use belt driven, which is simply way better.
But over the years, my pedals are acting up. Aka if I floor it, my throttle percent will jump from 80-99-100-85-75-100%, and my clutch and brakes do the same.
But yeah well worth it I’d say. Not cheap but lasts a while and a good amount of fun

Meanwhile somewhere out there, are gran turismo gamers that got turned to real life racer athletes or got other real life racing event gigs, all because of how well they perform in the game.

I think it gives more than it takes away so all in all simracing is beneficial for studying racing techniques and driving techniques.

It's definitely not perfect but you just can't over estimate your skill with it and that's really it like for example i have just a wheel and 2 pedals so i mostly do karting on my rig and sometimes like 100-300hp road cars like the escort or the lancer Evo

Biggest issue probably is the lack of feel obviously, you're at a Miata level skill, jump into an f1 car, you aint gonna be pushing that thing anywhere near it's limit.
Also irl i had trouble remembering to turn my head and shit when i took my drivers test

You cannot ruin them lol im sry but no if you understand racing you wont ruin your driving haha. You can learn trail braking. You also didnt mention track knowledge as most are 1/1 now. You learn how to or not to use the throttle coming out of the corner etc. You even can learn about setups. Ive yet to see it not improve a driver. Aka max, lando and more all attribute there skills to sim racing there entire carreers. Then you have lewis who wont do it and as you see the newer guys which all sim race are all getting much further ahead them him.
You get way way more good out of it then bad. Sure you still ahve to adapt to the real car when going on the track but its shockingly shockingly helpful.
