Thanks for watching the video - to clarify something I said incorrectly in the video, the new turntable manufacturer shown in the video is Silence Audio. Sorry for any confusion. I also noticed I spelt Wilson Benesch wrong, sorry its been a tough week
It was a real pleasure meeting you, Terry. You do an amazing job - thanks for all your hard work making some of the most informative content out there. I was very impressed by your professionalism - you really earn your subscribers' contributions. Keep it up, and I look forward to seeing you at the next one. Cheers, Richard
I'm glad to hear things are moving along for you such that you could put out a new higher end model. But it seems to me there's a fair bit of scope in your design to bring out a very good arm at a more pedestrian price too. Is that in the pipeline?
@@weatheranddarkness I did have a budget project, the SUPATRAC 'Audrius', named after the chap who told me at Munich 2023 that his budget was 1000 Euros. I warned him that his arm, Audrius serial number 1 might well be a one-off. It is great, although not quite as good as the Blackbird, and even lower mass. The problem is that it takes 90% of the work to produce an arm at half the price, and dealers are not interested due to the low margin. I would need to be making tens of thousands of tonearms a year, with big upfront investment for it to be viable, and I'm not there yet.
Interesting to see manufacturers with many decades on the market that I've never heard of, like Backes & Müller. These videos have made me want to visit Munich High End.
I enjoyed that the products were explained , even if briefly, instead of just a pedestrian series of views of products that is the more common approach.
Thanks Richard, that is why I put in the extra effort to do proper interviews so hopefully there is some useful takeaway from the video and hopefully something in there thats of interest to everyone (within reason)
I used to do them when I was using windows computers, when I changed to mac I haven't really settled with a good software to do it. I tried OBS once and it wasn't great and not that many people watch them so its a tough one to dedicated my attention to. But you are right these are just excuses
@@PursuitPerfectSystemall good. I just figure it would be a good way to get out of that solitary grind of content creation. I get it though. The technical aspect can be a pain
Passive line level crossovers are not new. But rare, agreed. Kudos to Kudos. Of course, the noise introduced by an active crossover, well done, is much less than the power amp, so this tech could be a solution looking for a problem.
I think the point is that building a dedicated passive linelevel for specific speakers is going to be a shorter cleaner signal path than an active that inevitably has to account for multiple kinds of speaker, different slopes, different crossover freqs, different number of channel splits.
Turntables are good for the feeling of visual appeal, but I think that turntables like that wilson beneech, standing there like they are pioneering a new concept, technics have nailed that concept with their 1200G, which I use at home, having owned many different turntables, all I can say is try the Technics sl1200G and you will never need any other turntable.
I would like to try a Technics, but its impossible to think 15 years, two universities and a co. like WB have been wasting their time developing a 1/4 million TT. I am sure its exceeded what Technics have done but I could well be wrong, it wouldnt be the first time
As I said in the video I was literally running from one meeting to the next, I did 18 interviews in 2 and half days which is a lot to do them to this high level with b roll video too. I didn't really get a chance to listen to anything properly except the Silent Pound / Perreuax system and the Gryphon system. I didnt manage the time well as I took on too much work
I am pretty sure they are getting Worldwide Distribution setup now - the intro price is 1249 Euros, I have seen it advertised at 999 in the UK, not sure about the states but that should give you a rough idea of price
@3:12 Interesting change of careers for this guy. He was the former leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) working with Nigel Farage. From politician to audiophile. Looks like he's found his niche though. Good for him.
I did do an interview with Dynaudio but sadly there was an issue with the audio which made it unusable, the heritages get the best tweeter and nice drivers and crossover, they look nice and are a limited edition so get in there quick if they are taking your fancy.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem thanks my distributor in my country has a few heritage specials left still in box with stands included so decision is tough especially when the contour black which is probably like the heritage specials but not limited is also available.
Yes I don't think they will sell out over night as these are expensive speakers so a very considered purchase but they have said there is only a 1000 pairs world wide so its a limited number. I meant if they are of interest go and have a look and listen and do some comparison to start the ball rolling for yourself just in case, but never rush into a bug purchase like this, unless your minted of course :)
There is no fixing it sadly as its baked into the video, I apologised for the mistake in my pinned post - its one of those things when you are up against it for time - I apologise again for the mistake
I do have a CD player coming but I am not really interested in playing CD's, I have got to be honest they don't make any sense to me anymore with how good streaming can be, however I know that sentiment wont be shared. I can't do everything for everyone and if I don't have a passion for it, then it wont be authentic enthusiasm from me in doing a review and that is hard for me. So I apologise for not doing more CD players but that has been why.

No worries mate 😊
Looks like they took similar priced Clearaudio designs as a starting point. Apparently they're also doing a magnetically stabilized unipivot too.

I like your positive energy! 🙋
Thank you sir, really enjoyed your coverage of the Munic show. Particularly enjoyed the interviews and the questions You asked. You must be shattered.

Next step: a revolutionary vhs recorder.
Seems silly but they have brought back the cassette tape so who knows….
Good work 👍👍👍
Thank you for all your hard work and bringing us great content

Thanks Steve!
Who is Steve?
I have never heard a Wilson Benesch product, but my word their kit looks beautiful. Reminds me of Meridian back in the day
I'm looking forward to those J-CAT and REL incoming reviews. 👌
OMG , you showed my dream turntable - the Grand Prix Audio with a Supatrac tonearm . Now if I can win a lottery .....
Yeah that was a very nice setup but it was all new to me
BM is my next and ultimate speaker brand!
Very nice
Surely all turntables are revolutionary?
Yes that is part of the fun of it - well spotted
You should do some live shows with Q&A to connect with your viewers. Always enjoy your content :)

Great video. So how did the Backes & muller sound?

The Silence Audio looked interesting but I didn't find any kind of info on availability or pricing.

Good grief, that seems like crazy low for what it is. I will be keeping my eye out for that. Thank you.
Can't imaging 2 Rel triple stacks
2-Rel Carbon Specials is plenty 👌
2 Carbons is very nice, REL say the 6 pack is not about more bass its about different bass, but its going to move more air so there will be more
@PursuitPerfectSystem
Anemic 20.7s couple years
CS are S-812s on steroids 😊
Use JLA CR-1 active crossover
Amp & Speed, fast transients 😊

Subtitle fix needed - Wilson "Beseech"? As in: Please, please give me one of those 'tables ; )
There is no fixing it sadly as its baked into the video, I apologised for the mistake in my pinned post - its one of those things when you are up against it for time - I apologise again for the mistake
Raise your stereo subs 36”, & get nearly the same effect, while saving money🔊🙈.
Did anyone in Wilson Benesch notice that their turntable rotates in the wrong direction?
Well spotted but that is just where I reversed the clip in the edit, it’s also slowed down but you didn’t spot that ;)
How can we sell more subs? We've pushed two. I give up let's get a beer. 💡
Terry, those turntable videos are getting boring...How about try some CD players -transports too?

"...fundamentally better." Better than what?
I assume that was a quote taken from Fremers review of the Blackbird, you may find a better context for the comment there
