Wharfedale brings back the speaker kits for DIY thats fucking insane !!! i was looking trough a book a week ago where many brand had these kits, Wharfedal,Kef,Philips, Monacor, etc i said jees those where times, making people want to make things themselfs and get into the hobby !! LOVE they took the leap to re introduce these !!
John, I have always appreciated the different approach you take to storytelling in your videos. However, this episode takes that to a different level. I really liked the way you moderated the coverage introducing each small segment. That combined with your B-Roll featuring the show centre, traveling around Munich, and cameo appearances by some friends we all know, resulted in a much more personal delivery than the norm. Well done! ……schnitzel
Thank you very much Mr. Darko, although I have not been able to watch the live Munich High End audio show but the video you made is very entertaining me in Jakarta Indonesia, again thank you very much
What the schnitzel? … I’ve been looking forward to this episode from Munich High End! … being from Canadia 🇨🇦 it is unfortunately too far away for me to attend. So many amazing pieces, it would almost be overwhelming. Thanks again for another entertaining video.! Cheers!!
Really interested in the end segment about the new 33/303 as an existing Quad owner is lovely to see and I bet they will sell truck loads, brilliant video as always.
I worked in Munich for a long time, by the transport Museum. I loved it there, wonderful beer garden by our office. The Wiim streamer with the screen looks interesting due to its price.
Pizza 🍕 😜 hope Wiim Ultra makes it to Darko HQ 👍 looking forward to SW interview 👍 i tried Plexamp for music since you have mentioned it alot in the past. We didn’t end up being friends but Roon Arc look more and more interesting so goid sponsor of this video
I think you are the only Hifi TH-camr I really watch because of you Hifi-gear and music taste. It is really refreshing if somebody is not focusing on these fridge like bombastic enclosures where you are always under the impression you pay per Kg like for Aufschnitt. And you live long enough in Germany if you know what SchniPoSchranke is. 😢
Schnitzel! But also: what a great move from Peter Comeau to (re)introduce kit-version loudspeakers! Hopefully more brands will follow this great idea, just as it was not uncommon in the 80’s and 90’s when respected brands like Kef, Focal and Dynaudio offered parts or kits for the diy community, what great days those were…
There were so many listening rooms, it was incredible. Just being there for one day one could only scratch the surface. Still cool to see the pictures again and the best video on the high end I've seen so far. Thanks for the tip, the high end was not on my radar, but it was truly enjoyable. Schnitzel and out.
Great Vid ! thanks John, can't wait to get my hands on the new Wiim Ultra. The Wiim rep made no mention of its headphone amp ? i'll be curious to see how it preforms.
Thanks for putting in the steps and report of the Munich show. I compared your video with my on-site experience to this year’s Axponia. Some similarity but I appreciated your take on to be released products.
Ive built the original unit 3 and unit 5 kits. The unit 3 is built as a super linton and unit 5 as a dovedale. I love my collection of vintage wharfedales. My main living room speskers are a set of w70d rosedales. Great speakers with 96db sensitivey. Sound great with early solid state and tubes.
Woot, ahh missed your articulate presentations as well as the fine editing. Still quality as hell. Love the DIY layout. Fine work. Hi fi Rose seems interesting at first blush. schnitzel
Schnitzel Darko... it was good to see you in Munich. You were busy so we didn't wanted to interrupt you by saying hello. We enjoyed the show. Tanja and Oto from Florida.
@31:26 He totally side stepped the question of edge diffraction. Perhaps he doesn't really know what it is. He seems to be saying that the quality of the craftsmanship is more important than the physics of the enclosure design.
Schnitzel. Thanks John, some interesting stuff there, love the look of the Quad, the Arcams sound interesting. I know you and many others were very impressed with the NAD but it just didn’t tickle my sound signature pickle.
Thank you for the coverage. It seems to me that a lot of companies were talking gibberish in that they are talking about cabinet finishes, colours, but not much in the way of sound quality. Hearing that Dynaudio uses Pascal amplifiers is disappointing as there are far better amplifiers out there. Japanese architecture by Scandinavians? I think some of these companies have listened to focus groups more than they have the audiophile.
Schnitzel!! Can't wait for the Steven Wilson video, recently bought "The Harmony Codex on vinyl and CD wow! Just wow, what a sensational album from the legend.
Great Video! Looked like a lot of effort to edit this one! I think the big gap that I see is that there is a lack of good interface options available for these devices. We haven’t seen any new hardware controllers for Roon or good physical controllers for Active Speakers recently in this digital world. Any thoughts there?!
Speaker kits -great idea! I made a pair of Klipsch Heresy from a Crites kit and they sound fantastic and its nice to be able to tell people "I made them"
They didnt come to bristol hifi show this year after countless consecutive attendances. When i asked the event organiser they said that B&W had recently been bought out and the new owners were not interested in investing in promoting the brand through shows...ive not verified this ...just repeating what i was told when i asked the question

wharfedale concept is absolutely fabulous. Wharfdale sound + custom aesthetic finish and save on international shipping.
What I'd want is a kit for the high end Dovedale speaker, as I can't afford the finished product!

SChnitzel! You're the bomb John! Best show coverage I've seen - engaging, interesting and entertaining. Nice!
I watched , I drooled ….I’m ok now ….
The fact that these systems exist makes me happy.
What an amazing video. Thank you for updating us on the latest developments. So much exciting exciting stuff out there 😮
This video had some great shots/interviews and editing. Wow!!! Remarkable work thank you for keeping that bar raised. 💪💪 Makes me wish I was there.
Schnitzel! It was a pleasure meeting you at High End 2024!
I really like what Wharfedale has done here, I'm definitely intrigued in trying building my own speakers at some point.
Did NOT know about the DIY wharfedale kit - fantastic! So happy about that, would love to see more from other manufacturers
Great summary of the show John and yes, I watched to the end :) Look forward to SW interview
It was a pleasure meeting you there 😃 thanks for your entertaining videos 🎉
Nice selection of interesting subjects! Many thanks! Schnitzel! ❤
Schnitzel! Really interesting show coverage, thank you
Schnitzel ! Loved the part with the designer/engineer from Chord. It's good to know someone is thinking about these things and searches for solutions.
Thank you very much Mr. Darko, although I have not been able to watch the live Munich High End audio show but the video you made is very entertaining me in Jakarta Indonesia, again thank you very much

Schnitzel, I really loved the show your videos are fantastic, its was also a pleasure meeting in person thanks
Yep JD, I watched to the very end, thank you for bringing us this presentation.
Schnitzel! You are the only one to cover the speakers kits. So thankful I watched
John, great video. I've never been to an audio show or Munich but I may try to do both in the not-to-distant future. Good work.
Really interested in the end segment about the new 33/303 as an existing Quad owner is lovely to see and I bet they will sell truck loads, brilliant video as always.

Ok, I love what Wharfedale is doing with the kit speaker. Bravo. Hope it comes out soon because I'll buy it.
Just saw Terry! Great review thanks John!
Schnitzel.
Definitely the best show coverage video I have ever seen. Thanks for putting the hard work in, John. It shows.
Great coverage! Schnitzel!
Big fat Schnitzel from me! 😂
Quad 33 looks lovely!
great summary, and I do love the look of those Quads!
Did they say how much the furniture colab dynaudio would be? Or did I miss that one in the video? Really like the look of it!

Schnitzel and poodle, loved it. Very nice little surprise with that Quad set in the end. Awesome!
John, very glad you made the clearly considerable effort to produce a report with such high production values. Too quality video. Thank you.
Schnitzel, by the way
Schnitzel - Loved your video, Great to see my friend Vinnie Rossi in it as well, have not been to Munich Hi End since 2014, so it was a treat!
There were so many listening rooms, it was incredible. Just being there for one day one could only scratch the surface. Still cool to see the pictures again and the best video on the high end I've seen so far. Thanks for the tip, the high end was not on my radar, but it was truly enjoyable.

Excellent report ... love the updated retro stuff !!

Brilliant report, thanks so much and looking forward to the SW interview soon
That Dynaudio powered stand looks AMAZING!
Great show coverage. Haven't seen better
Yea it’s quick to the point.. ect
Ive built the original unit 3 and unit 5 kits. The unit 3 is built as a super linton and unit 5 as a dovedale.
I love my collection of vintage wharfedales.

The server kits this year....amazing designs. That Quad presentation was exceptional.
The speaker kit looks a great idea,
Schnitzel...love the Quad combo, great insights, John. Thanks
Woot, ahh missed your articulate presentations as well as the fine editing. Still quality as hell. Love the DIY layout. Fine work. Hi fi Rose seems interesting at first blush. schnitzel
Schnitzel on its way to say great video!
BTW, great idea from Wharfedale!
Schnitzel Darko... it was good to see you in Munich. You were busy so we didn't wanted to interrupt you by saying hello. We enjoyed the show. Tanja and Oto from Florida.

Great work!!
Looking forward to that future Musical Fidelity A1 review!!
@31:26 He totally side stepped the question of edge diffraction. Perhaps he doesn't really know what it is. He seems to be saying that the quality of the craftsmanship is more important than the physics of the enclosure design.
Oh my, the RD160 is gorgeous! Really stands out compared to other HiFi design 😮
Schnitzel. Thanks John, some interesting stuff there, love the look of the Quad, the Arcams sound interesting. I know you and many others were very impressed with the NAD but it just didn’t tickle my sound signature pickle.

Schnitzel, John. Wonderful show report!
Thanks John. I would to see more you review one of those Dynaudio speakers
NIcely done as always John.
Really dig the aesthetics and design of the HiFi Rose DAC's display. Just lovely.
Schneitzel, love your attitude towards HiFi John 👌🏽🎶
Good vibes. Cheers John.
Love Schnitzel and the Wharfdale speaker kits . But sadly any of the 500 only kits most probably wont make it to NZ . Schisse !!
Schnitzel. Thanks as always John.
Schnitzel! Great video and fun to see some Grimm product snippets!
Schnitzel until the end ;). Nice video and nice products you showed us here. Keep up the good work.

Schnitzel John, loving your videos since you started mate, sending love from Perth WA..
Reallly nice video with diverse content for everyday people.
The Quad pre+power combo looks amazing.
Schnitzel!! Can't wait for the Steven Wilson video, recently bought "The Harmony Codex on vinyl and CD wow! Just wow, what a sensational album from the legend.

Great video! And absolutely overwhelming number of exhibitors... do you know why Bowers & Wilkins did not attend?

Shnitzelicious stuff John. Cheers from Los Angeles 🍻
Schnitzel! Very cool stuff John, thank you. I do feel a bit like that wee dog at the end though, just a bit overwhelming.
Schnitzel
Schnitzel! The DIY kits from Wharfedale are going to make a great Christmas present for your audiophile who has everything if they're priced right
Schnitzel ! Great review 😊
Schnitzel - One of the hifi forums on FB suggested we watch this as it was excellent - would have watched it anyway as I like you approach.
