  • I made the switch out of fusion from fusion 360 to vcarve products. Tired of the crashing and slugness of it.
Since the switch, I model my projects in Rhino 3d and then create the tool paths in aspire or do everything I need inside of aspire.
Rhino I use more assembly of projects.
Have you made the switch from fusion 360 to vectric?
I'm making a CNC course be sure to signup to give your input on the creation.

I had a similar situation. I have Fusion but for doing stuff with engraving and simple artistic stuff it is over complicated, Vcarve desktop has proved excellent for many things and has really simple and effective CAM, nothing beats it for engraving. Fusion is superior for complex assemblies of course.

Totally agree, I’ve been using vCarve for the artistic stuff and fusion for more of the mechanical assembly projects.

Aspire is great, but with a hefty 1800 euro price tag. Fusion 360 is free for non commercial. We use vcarve at work, which only allows cutting of 3d objects, not actually creating them.

Amazing how people will give a thumbs down for your honest opinion.

I came to the same conclusion about 18 months ago. I didn't have any problems with F360, but to use STL files they need to be less than 55K facets (really more like 25K), if you have an STL or OBJ with 250K facets you're screwed. I still use F360 for high tolrence machining, but Vetric is way more fun and more productive for the artssy stuff. Thanks for tthe vid.

The nice thing about Rhino and Vectric Aspire is you buy the software and it's yours. Fusion360 you rent monthly or yearly and the price can change at anytime.
