Really enjoyed playing through this with you with my own copy of the game. One follow on observation due to the mistake when you chose not to use your signet ring power - as a result of this you also missed out on the ring either / or bonus on your character card.
Heya and thanks - glad you enjoyed it! And I appreciate you catching the guild envoy discard miss. I’ll add a note to the Klingon subtitles. Good news is that I obviously would have discarded the 1 influence card, which I didn’t use toward the market purchase. So, I at least didn’t get a benefit I shouldn’t have from the miss. That always makes me feel at least a little better about a mistake. 😂
Heya! Yes, I double-checked, and that was part of a promo pack if you preordered directly from Dire Wolf. After a few plays, I ended up just shuffling them into my deck. Sometimes they make their promo cards available for purchase later. But I just checked the website, and I'm not seeing they have done that yet.
Thanks for the reply! ha! I got scared I had misplaced a card or had a box packing error. I'm just learning so I like to actually follow through playthroughs with my own setup. I feel it help me to learn better. I was like.... Well now how do I follow along!? lol Great playthrough! the best I've seen for Dune Upsrising! @@tabletoptoby
Heya! The House Hagal cards that tell you what the rivals do (or the app if you are using the app) will indicate whether influence matters or not for the placement. On some cards, the rival gets a bonus or better benefit, but only if they have enough influence. And there’s one card (Sietch Tabr) that does require the rival to have at least 2 influence in order to place there, so it instructs you to draw another card if they do not. So really, you just need to follow the instructions on the card or in the app, and the card or app will tell you if influence matters.
I missed whether you actually acquired the Sardaukar contracts, but I didn't see you gain them. Shaddam sets them aside at the start of the game but has to spend actions to claim them.
Ack! And thanks for this catch as well. Can’t believe I did that. Guess that’s the problem with splitting your brain between playing a complex game and trying to babble on about it at the same time. 🤣 I had set them aside as reserve, but then clearly spaced it later on. I’ll also add this to the klingons. I guess the good news is that I ended up with 2 contracts I didn’t use. But obviously what order I would have added which one… 🤷♂️ But maybe this helps counterbalance the mistakes earlier that were to my detriment. I’ll hope the yin and yang of it all balances out. Either way, it was fun the way it played out, especially at the end. Again…thanks for your catches!
Oh good! I just added the klingon notes, and I see that I used only the 1 CHOAM Sardaukar contract that allows you to draw 2 cards for the placement. And I only drew 2 influence only cards that didn't offer me any benefit I could use since it was the last round. So, makes me feel better about that one too.🥳

Yes, so hopefully it kind of balanced out things. 🤞🏻Thank you for your kind words! 😁
Thanks for the upload, this was fun to watch!
I think you forgot to discard for your guild envoy on round 3, though.

I don't seem to have the Arrakis Revolt card in my box. I'm hoping it was a special promo card for you or something?

Do rival need 2 influence to go to spaces where influence is needed?

Great video but... maybe rethink the thumbnail? :D
Ha ha! That idea popped in my head in a dream, and I couldn't get rid of it. I'm convinced the sandworms planted the idea and made me do it. 🥳
