"I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison, so I went... to pick her up... in the rain! But before I could get to the station in my... pickup truck, she got ran over by a damned ol' train!"
Well a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song, and he told me it was the perfect country and western song, I wrote him back a letter and told him it was NOT the perfect country and western song, because he hadn't said anything at all, about mama, or trains, or trucks, or prison...or gettin drunk..well he sat down and wrote another verse to the song, and he sent it to me, and after readin it, I realized my friend had written the perfect country and western song, and I felt obliged to include it on this album, the last verse goes like this here... One of my childhood favorites and still.is one of my favorites!
I stumbled across you tonight for the first time. I've been listening to Country for almost 60 years, and the way you described Dolly was unbelievable. You really understand her and her music. In fact, you seem to have an incredible ability to feel the artist's joy and pain through their music. It's a gift, you know.
1. Mamma Tried 2. He Stopped Loving Her today 3. Always on My Mind 4. Old Violin 5. I Can Still Make Cheyenne 6. I Believe In You 7. City of New Orleans 8. I Wish Grandpas Never Died 9. High Cotton 10. Oklahoma Sunshine
I can’t understand why people like grandpas never died so much. Seems like it’s just a big ol list with no actual point behind it. Not a constant theme. It just seems thrown together from a toy box
1. Luckenbach Texas 2. A country boy can survive 3. Family tradition 4. I've been everywhere 5. The Race is on 6.My Maria 7. Ring of fire 8. International Harvester 9. Rodeo 10. Prop me up beside the jukebox
@@GradySmith Seriously? Dude, my grandmother has had a crush on George longer than I've been alive! Which apparently is as long as you too, since I was also in 6th grade.
Michael V He’s not that great 🤷♂️ one of the first guys who made country music reliant on a country persona rather than musical talent. That’s my opinion tho and I’m a bit new to country so feel free to disagree.

This is a great list! I love all of these songs, on your list! Don Williams is an excellent vocalist! I love a LOT of his music! The songs that, I would have chosen by Tracy Lawrence, would be "If the World Had a Front Porch", "I See it Now", "Paint Me a Birmingham", and "Time Marches On"! See, I cannot even whittle down my list, to just one song, of his. lol :D My fave George Strait song is "You Look So Good In Love"...but I also love "The Chair", "Let's Fall to Pieces Together", and "I Cross My Heart"! My fave Merle Haggard song is "Silver Wings". So many great songs, by so many wonderful artists...so hard to choose!

But which artists? Because as much as I love George Strait, I think Chris Ledoux's version is better. But that's just me, and neither one of them was the first to sing it either.

I like your list. We have similar tastes. Time Marches On by Tracy Lawrence, Seminole Wind by John Anderson would be on mine as well. Also Tim McGraw’s Please Remember Me. I grew up in the 90’s, great time for country music. Every song on country radio was good.

Country Roads - Denver 6. Amarillo By Morning - Strait 7. Highway 40 Blues - Skaggs 8. Forever and Ever, Amen - Travis 9. Family Tradition - Hank Jr 10. Fishin’ in the Dark - Nitty Gritty
Cool List! I absolutely adore the song, "Fishin' in the Dark"! :D "Forever and Ever Amen" will always be, one of my top favorites, from Randy Travis! I remember hearing it, for the 1st time, when I was 17 years old, and just giggling at the line, "as long as old men, sit and talk about the weather, and as long as old women sit, and talk about old men"! I was lucky, to be raised around, my Great Grandparents (my maternal Grandparents, actually raised me, so they were, for all intents, and purposes, my Mom & Dad), so I could COMPLETELY, relate to this song, because I saw it, in action! :D This song also started my love for most all of Randy's songs!
My list: 1. Shot full of love 2. Don't close your eyes 3. You look so good in love 4. Friends in low places 5. I'm gonna miss her 6. You had me from hello 7. Bless the broken road 8. Tennessee whiskey 9. Grandpa tell me about the good old days 10. Beautiful Crazy

(A Country Boy Can Survive; Dang Me; Guitar Town; The Grand Tour; Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain……….)
There's no reason to stereotype and bring negativity to this channel. I'm 32 and not a boomer. Try to show more compassion for those that you have disgust for.
Best memory of Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue was when I was stationed in Kyrgyzstan, the song was played and there were Americans, Dutch & French military members singing along
"Spent 48 dollars last night at the county fair..." "Momma's on the front porch screamin' out her warnin', girl you better get your red head back in bed before the mornin'..." "Blame it all on my roots, I showed up in boots and ruined your black tie affair..."
Awesome list. Such a great mix of songs from various times. Can't go wrong with any of these songs. I probably would have to have top-1o lists for my favorite artist's .

3 wooden crosses is a song that just randomly pops into my mind because it makes me think of the message of that song, it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you, it's what you leave behind you when you go
This took me a long time LOL. 10) Buy me a Boat - Chris Jansen I was in Middle School when this song came out and the lyrics of this song made me laugh the first time I listened to it. "I wish I had a rich uncle that would kick the bucket" just made my day the first time I listened to it. I'd me lying if I thought this song had substance, but for me the laugh was all I needed with this song. 9) Angels among us- Alabama Everytime I talk with someone about Alabama, the songs people think of are "Song of the South", "Mountain Music" and "Dixieland Delight". While all great, I got to sing this song at my Elementary School Graduation. A little while ago, this song popped up on Spotify and made me nostalgic for a time when I still got to be around people making music. As a music student, this is something that I've yearned for recently, but not easily accessible due to the pandemic. 8) Long Black Train- Josh Turner Known mainly for "Your Man" and "Why don't we just dance", this song has always gotten me more than the others. The song is giving metaphoric look at temptation. I feel that Turner has one of the most crisp bass voices known to man. 7) Little Toy Guns - Carrie Underwood This was a tough one. I knew I wanted to include Carrie Underwood on the list. The mood of her songs has a good history of relating to the mood of the lyrics. If I had to choose others it would be "Before he Cheats", "Something in the Water" and "Two Black Cadillacs". 6) If I die young- The Band Perry I feel as though taking a deeper look at the lyrics of this song can't help but make one emotional. The lyrics don't reflect that of anger or sadness but we see death through the lens of the person that died. An interpretation of it. One of the most beautiful ballads of country music of all time 5) Chattahoochee- Alan Jackson Another hard decision, he's got too many good ones. The guitar lick in this song is one of my favorites of all time. It was between this one and "Five o'clock Somewhere." Jackson has an art of making a song relatable to anyone. 4) Online - Brad Paisley I have an autographed copy of this album. Lord knows, how many people have ever laughed to any Brad Paisley song "I'm Gonna Miss Her", "Ticks", "I'm Still a Guy". The reason I chose this song however, is because of the relatability I have to the main character in the song. I feel this way because I play the tuba in the marching band and live in a basement. While others might see this one differently as making fun, I fall into two of the categories and I'm living proof that for me at least its all in good nature. 3) Come Monday- Jimmy Buffett I've always felt like I fit into more of the beachy country music over other sub-genres. I love Buffett's style, because of the unique style he possesses to his country music. When I was a kid, the album "Songs you know by heart" was on repeat in the car constantly. We skipped track 9 though, look up the album to understand why. 2) Toes - Zac Brown Band Zac Brown is to me what Jimmy Buffett was to my parents. He's at a crossroads when it comes to genres like Buffett. The reason I picked this song was that the chorus always seemed memorable for me. Honorable mentions for Brown are "Sweet Annie", "I Play the Road", "My Old Man", "Loving you Easy" and "Knee Deep". Some of my favorite memories were made with these songs. 1) Life is a Highway - Rascal Flatts I didn't pick the original for a reason. My favorite movie growing up as a kid was Pixar's Cars. It exposed me to a plethora of Country Music Artists. This one hits it home however with the upbeat tempo and one of my favorite bass lines of all time. Wow that took a while!
These are in no specific order. These are just my top 10 1. Highwayman 2. Neon moon 3. Friends in low places 4. Sunday morning coming down 5. This is where the cowboy rides away 6. Luckenbach Texas 7. Ol red 8. Country boy can survive 9. Islands in the stream 10. On the road again
my list includes Earl Thomas Conley "What I'd say", Martina McBride "Anyway", Kenny Rogers "Love Will Turn You Around", Patty Loveless "That Kind of Girl", Brad Paisley "This is Country Music", Mary Chapin Carpenter "I Take My Chances", George Strait "Blue Clear Sky", Kenny Chesney "That's why I'm here", Jamey Johnson "Heartache", and lastly, Blake Shelton "Austin". All these songs can bring me to tears or bring a smile to my face. If you haven't heard them, I highly recommend you look them up on TH-cam.
Love the inclusion of "Wide Open Spaces." Like you, I grew up in the 90s and early 2000s with so many amazing female country artists. They were on the radio and you saw their music videos all the time. Also, I'll never forget seeing the video for "Hurt" for the first time. I still get emotional every time I watch it. Had never heard of "Waiting on June" but listened to it and it gave me chills. Love it.
Speaking of this song. Even though I'm not from the Southern US (I'm from Northern Ontario), I can relate coming from a region that seems misunderstood.
@@LuckyOlivia44 how could something from Alabama not be in there. Between Alabama and King George over 100 #1 hits and none on here and guy we are talking emotion how about Craig Morgan

"Class of 89' Country the Best..!" Obviously the forefathers too but Real Country is Alan Jackson, George Strait, Clint Black, Garth Brooks, Tracy Lawrence, Tim McGraw, Travis Tritt, Tracy Byrd, Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis, John Michael Montgomery, Dwight Yoakam, Trace Adkins...etc. MANY OTHERS
Thanks for all the comments on this already! We allll have a lot of opinions on this subject, but these are the songs that have meant the most to ME as a country fan. So many classics almost made the cut, but I wanted to keep it 100, and that means there's a few songs that aren't that deep on here, but hey, I love em! I think I need to make a Top 10 Country Artists video, cuz a lot of my favorites aren't even on here!! Keep sharing your favorites! I'm loving reading them. And shoutout to Flag and Anthem! Fuck yea Deeper Than The Holler! Love Randy. Hey. Good job on this vid and all the others. Thanks for being you, and bringing your conversations up about where this genre is or where its headed. Two words though; Strawberry Wine.
Absolutely in my top ten. Its such a unique song, there will never be another one quite like this one.... It especially reminds me of my Grandfather, who fought in WW2 in the Battle of the Bulge. Can't help but think of him. Survived the war, but couldn't beat the cancer that took him at 55, and I was only 8. Breaks my heart....I was so cheated ....wish I could've known him in my adult life. For him, and other other Military (active or veteran) Thank You For Your Service! 🇺🇸❤🤍💙❤🤍💙🇺🇸 From a USAF VIETNAM VET WIFE 🇺🇸❤🤍💙❤🤍🤍🇺🇸
I love this list. Not that I agree with them, but just the fact that you truly stuck to your own personal favorites, not the all-time classics. You used a healthy mix of (somewhat) more modern songs and older songs. I personally would have to include "Colder Weather" by ZBB in my top ten, but other than that I love the entire list.
1. Country boy can survive 2.okie from Muskogee 3. He stopped loving her today 4. Much too young to feel this damn old 5. High cotton 6. Don’t think hank done it this way 7. Goodbye says it all 8. "Set 'Em Up Joe" by Vern Gosdin is the quintessential country song. It's like every great country song was thrown into a music stew and out came "Set 'Em Up Joe".
The thing I love about this list is the thing I love about music in general. You picked songs that have an emotional connection to you, whether they remind you of amazing times, make you feel happy, touch you in emotional ways, or bring back strong memories of being a child and discovering the power of music, lyrics, and vocals. In most cases, I would have made different choices, but they would have been choices based on my memories and emotional connections, and again, that's why I love music. It's a very personal experience that's unique for each listener. I will make one comment about Toby Keith since you opened that door. I had just turned 36 when that happened (my birthday is actually September 11th), and those attacks devastated me and still play a part in who I am. When Alan Jackson came out with his tribute, I liked that he acknowledged the fact that most people don't know the difference between Iran and Iraq and were just trying to make sense out of a very bewildering, shocking event. It's one thing to hear about terrorist attacks, it's a whole 'nother thing to watch it happening live on TV to your neighbors and family. So I appreciated what Alan was trying to say. But Toby Keith's tribute/reaction was about the anger, the need to fight back against what had up until then been completely unimaginable, and I couldn't have appreciated that song more. It felt cathartic, it felt like it was allowing me to express my own anger, my own fear, my own realization that safety isn't a guarantee. I am fans of the Dixie Chicks, I supported them through the unnecessary crap they went through because they used their right to talk freely to express their disappointment in a president (their main sin was that the president in question that they criticized was a Republican instead of a Democrat, the hypocrisy of which still pisses me off), but I didn't agree with them when it came to Toby Keith. Toby said what I felt, and what I suspect millions of other Americans felt, and I'm grateful that he did so. With that said, I like his "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This" the most of all of his songs for personal reasons I won't get into, LOL.
Speaking abou bush was fine, the dumb part was when she apologized, but once she realized nobody excepted the apology and was still being blackballed she tried to go back and say screw off and that she didnt regret it. Basically what i mean is, dont pander say what you mean and stick to it

'Hurt' was one of the most amazing moments in music. Johnny Cash captured his feeling about his life and career in one of the most poignant music videos ever to be created. A career like his is reduced to dirt. How many people can identify Johnny Cash, even though has hasn't been gone that long. It's all just a flash. He knew that when he recorded that song.

Everyone knows the perfect country and western song is "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" by David Allen Coe
By Steve Goodman!
"I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison, so I went... to pick her up... in the rain! But before I could get to the station in my... pickup truck, she got ran over by a damned ol' train!"
That could also fit on his other video about crazy stories in country songs lol
I like that one too and many many more
Well a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song, and he told me it was the perfect country and western song, I wrote him back a letter and told him it was NOT the perfect country and western song, because he hadn't said anything at all, about mama, or trains, or trucks, or prison...or gettin drunk..well he sat down and wrote another verse to the song, and he sent it to me, and after readin it, I realized my friend had written the perfect country and western song, and I felt obliged to include it on this album, the last verse goes like this here...
God is great
1. Mamma Tried
2. He Stopped Loving Her today
3. Always on My Mind
4. Old Violin
5. I Can Still Make Cheyenne
6. I Believe In You
7. City of New Orleans
8. I Wish Grandpas Never Died
9. High Cotton
10. Oklahoma Sunshine
Now this is more what I was thinking as far as a best 10 list. Old Violin is undeniable
I can’t understand why people like grandpas never died so much. Seems like it’s just a big ol list with no actual point behind it. Not a constant theme. It just seems thrown together from a toy box
What ? Johnny Cash. Jackson isn't on there ?
very close to what my list would be
Good choices
1. Luckenbach Texas
2. A country boy can survive
3. Family tradition
4. I've been everywhere
5. The Race is on
6.My Maria
7. Ring of fire
8. International Harvester
9. Rodeo
10. Prop me up beside the jukebox
Hehe I'm near Luckenbach.
That's a pretty good list.
"Jukebox" is on my list. Look it up; there's a really good reason (aside of the fact that it's a good song).
Can't forget Luchenbach Texas. That's a jam.
Pretty damn good list
No George Strait on your top 10 list? Explain yourself, Grady.
Blame my dad. He only played "All My Exes Live In Texas" and never showed me the emo stuff! I hadn't heard "Amarillo by Morning" til 2013!
@@Trekkie46 Everyone's grandma has/had a crush on Strait
Grady Smith Amarillo by Morning is one of the greatest songs ever
Darius Rucker "Alright" reminds me of Travis Tritt "It's a Great Day to Be Alive." Love both!
Wagonwheel is a better choice
“It’s a great day to be alive” was actually wrote by Darrell Scott who’s an amazing songwriter who I’d recommend
@@iufan71 hey
@@iufan71 Q?
Terry..??
One song that always sticks out to me is The Devil Went Down to Georgia. It may mot be the best country song but it certainly is in my top 10.
EthanMG_1611 it might be my #1
It's more bluegrass/country rock, but I 1000% agree with you. Gives me goose bumps every time.
It's Charlie Daniels and and that's a good enough reason
One of my favorite songs, more because of the story it tells, but the fiddle is fantastic
EthanMG_1611 I love that song
I think hurt was the perfect final song for Johnny Cash since hie wife June died 3 months later, and he followed her four months after that,
She passed 3 months earlier, her covered the song because of his wife passing.
Too bad by that point he sounded like absolute garbage. That song only reached Platinum because he had a cult like following.
linkedmoo_man 12345 hurt was still good
@@triadsamurai4556 That's not true. She appears in the music video.
I still can't listen to it without crying.

It's great to see Charles Wesley Godwin mentioned, I hope more people hear about him
Love Strait’s rendition of Amarillo by Morning. But there is something about Terry Stafford’s version that hits me. Reminds me of my grandma.
When I saw this video the first song that hit my mind was Amarillo by Morning
Amarillo by Morning should be everyone’s #1
Andrew Cabral that’s where your wrong. Country music is so great that it’s so vast and different sounds. Where that song is great it wouldn’t make my top ten
But which artists? Because as much as I love George Strait, I think Chris Ledoux's version is better. But that's just me, and neither one of them was the first to sing it either.
Definitely in the top 10 for me.
I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry. Undisputed.

Beautiful lineup
The dance...its hard to not put at least 5 Garth songs on mine lol
@Garrett Scroggs I have listened to it, but I credit Darius Rucker's version as the song that first got me listening to country music. That's why I listed him as the artist.
"I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" is my whip-poor-will song

I remember hearing it, for the 1st time, when I was 17 years old, and just giggling at the line, "as long as old men, sit and talk about the weather, and as long as old women sit, and talk about old men"! I was lucky, to be raised around, my Great Grandparents (my maternal Grandparents, actually raised me, so they were, for all intents, and purposes, my Mom & Dad), so I could COMPLETELY, relate to this song, because I saw it, in action! :D This song also started my love for most all of Randy's songs!

10. My Maria
Oh my Yes I love it
The correct version of your number two choice is not country.
I don't know all of those, but some of them are really good!
Looking through all of these lists in the comments, where is “Remember When” by Alan Jackson?
Thank you. I love that song
One of the few Alan Jackson songs that I will listen to over and over again
That song is criminally underrated.
Alan Jackson is my generations Hank Williams Sr
That song isnt even top 100🤣🤣🤣🤣
A Boston boy’s top ten (listed best to last):
1. He Stopped Loving Her Today - G. Jones
2. Coat Of Many Colors - D. Parton
3. Honky Tonk Blues - Hank Sr.
4. Chiseled in Stone - Vern Gosdin

Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Reba, George Jones and Tammy Wynette... I grew up on the Opry and still have a great love of country music
This list needed these people. A top ten without Patsy, come on.
ok boomer
There's no reason to stereotype and bring negativity to this channel. I'm 32 and not a boomer. Try to show more compassion for those that you have disgust for.
No Alan Jackson? No Brooks & Dunn? No Reba? No Marty Robbins?
It’s really hard to boil it down to 10… I rhymed off 12 in no time and had to take two off LOL
No Alabama
This list is shit
It is his opinion did you guys not read the title go watch another list.
Brooks and Dunn is in here
“The Dance”, by Garth Brooks has always been my favorite ❤️
That one, The River, and Thunder Rolls (live version, for the third verse) for me. They're all tied for first. :)
Same here
Agreed!
Garth Brooks is a Communist
Best memory of Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue was when I was stationed in Kyrgyzstan, the song was played and there were Americans, Dutch & French military members singing along
"Spent 48 dollars last night at the county fair..."
"Momma's on the front porch screamin' out her warnin', girl you better get your red head back in bed before the mornin'..."
"Blame it all on my roots, I showed up in boots and ruined your black tie affair..."
I threw out my shoulder but I won her that teddy bear,
She’s got me saying ssugarpie, honey, darling and dear
I ain't seen the Braves play a game all year
Dont know what it is bout my little glass lover
I'm gonna get fired, if I don't get some sleep,
Awesome list. Such a great mix of songs from various times. Can't go wrong with any of these songs. I probably would have to have top-1o lists for my favorite artist's .

You should do a top ten Johnny Cash songs because all the lists on youtube are created by people who only know his biggest hits.
Psst, they are all hits hahaha.
Home of the Blues was always a favorite of mine.
He has literally dozens of great tunes. I would have such a hard time choosing from his songs...
Roseanne Cash.
The cover of "Man In Black" he did with One Bad Pig. . .
Great list Grady. I would have loved to see In Color by Jamey Johnson or Three Wooden Crosses by Randy Travis. But great list!
Brennen Richards that would make my rop twp
two
Instantly had three wooden crosses in my head love randy travis
In color might be the greatest story telling song ever made.
3 wooden crosses is a song that just randomly pops into my mind because it makes me think of the message of that song, it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you, it's what you leave behind you when you go
This took me a long time LOL.
10) Buy me a Boat - Chris Jansen
I was in Middle School when this song came out and the lyrics of this song made me laugh the first time I listened to it. "I wish I had a rich uncle that would kick the bucket" just made my day the first time I listened to it. I'd me lying if I thought this song had substance, but for me the laugh was all I needed with this song.
9) Angels among us- Alabama
Everytime I talk with someone about Alabama, the songs people think of are "Song of the South", "Mountain Music" and "Dixieland Delight". While all great, I got to sing this song at my Elementary School Graduation. A little while ago, this song popped up on Spotify and made me nostalgic for a time when I still got to be around people making music. As a music student, this is something that I've yearned for recently, but not easily accessible due to the pandemic.
8) Long Black Train- Josh Turner
Known mainly for "Your Man" and "Why don't we just dance", this song has always gotten me more than the others. The song is giving metaphoric look at temptation. I feel that Turner has one of the most crisp bass voices known to man.
7) Little Toy Guns - Carrie Underwood
This was a tough one. I knew I wanted to include Carrie Underwood on the list. The mood of her songs has a good history of relating to the mood of the lyrics. If I had to choose others it would be "Before he Cheats", "Something in the Water" and "Two Black Cadillacs".
6) If I die young- The Band Perry
I feel as though taking a deeper look at the lyrics of this song can't help but make one emotional. The lyrics don't reflect that of anger or sadness but we see death through the lens of the person that died. An interpretation of it. One of the most beautiful ballads of country music of all time
5) Chattahoochee- Alan Jackson
Another hard decision, he's got too many good ones. The guitar lick in this song is one of my favorites of all time. It was between this one and "Five o'clock Somewhere." Jackson has an art of making a song relatable to anyone.
4) Online - Brad Paisley
I have an autographed copy of this album.
3) Come Monday- Jimmy Buffett
I've always felt like I fit into more of the beachy country music over other sub-genres. I love Buffett's style, because of the unique style he possesses to his country music. When I was a kid, the album "Songs you know by heart" was on repeat in the car constantly. We skipped track 9 though, look up the album to understand why.
2) Toes - Zac Brown Band
Zac Brown is to me what Jimmy Buffett was to my parents.
1) Life is a Highway - Rascal Flatts
I didn't pick the original for a reason. My favorite movie growing up as a kid was Pixar's Cars. It exposed me to a plethora of Country Music Artists. This one hits it home however with the upbeat tempo and one of my favorite bass lines of all time.
Wow that took a while!
I would have had “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue” by Toby Keith on my list as well
That was my childhood so I feel that I remember hearing that growing up as a little kid (I'm 18 atm)
Toby Keith is my favorite. I love how patriotic and true he is. Made in America, If I Was Jesus, and especially Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue.
Nice song, but hardly worthy of being in any Top 10.
Mitchell same
Dale Sajdak yup

Islands in the Stream!! Yes!
my list includes Earl Thomas Conley "What I'd say", Martina McBride "Anyway", Kenny Rogers "Love Will Turn You Around", Patty Loveless "That Kind of Girl", Brad Paisley "This is Country Music", Mary Chapin Carpenter "I Take My Chances", George Strait "Blue Clear Sky", Kenny Chesney "That's why I'm here", Jamey Johnson "Heartache", and lastly, Blake Shelton "Austin".
Love it.
Song of the South would definitely make my list. It’s nostalgic for me.
Speaking of this song. Even though I'm not from the Southern US (I'm from Northern Ontario), I can relate coming from a region that seems misunderstood.
That ones nostalgic for me too, and another one that evokes that same feeling for me is Fishin’ In the Dark.

American Gunsmith I like Colt Fords better but Jason Aldean’s is iconic so for all intents and purposes, his version is the one on my list
Great list

John Anderson! So amazingly talented and yet so underrated. Siminole winds tugs the heart strings just a bit as does I wish I could have been there.
"Class of 89' Country the Best..!" Obviously the forefathers too but Real Country is Alan Jackson, George Strait, Clint Black, Garth Brooks, Tracy Lawrence, Tim McGraw, Travis Tritt, Tracy Byrd, Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis, John Michael Montgomery, Dwight Yoakam, Trace Adkins...etc. MANY OTHERS
Can’t forget Travis Tritt
Got alot of my favorite singers in there
Need Confederate railroad on the list
@@izaak9806 Travis Tritt was amazing
Casey Walker I was fortunate enough to see him in concert this year! It was pretty badass.

I think the title is the issue. You should have called this your "Ten Personal Favorite Country Songs".
@@Peter24601 yeah I agree. According to me he said though.
Grady, you need to listen to George Strait’s 50 Number Ones album. Best purchase I have ever made. That will bump George Strait up on your list.
Fuck yea Deeper Than The Holler! Love Randy. Hey. Good job on this vid and all the others. Thanks for being you, and bringing your conversations up about where this genre is or where its headed. Two words though; Strawberry Wine.
Not even really a country music fan, but I think Jamey Johnson’s “In Color” cracks the top 10
Guaranteed! Top 3 in my book
For him, and other other Military (active or veteran) Thank You For Your Service!

totally agree
I love this list. Not that I agree with them, but just the fact that you truly stuck to your own personal favorites, not the all-time classics. You used a healthy mix of (somewhat) more modern songs and older songs. I personally would have to include "Colder Weather" by ZBB in my top ten, but other than that I love the entire list.

Rowdy Rob Fair, but I grew up with Cars as my favorite childhood movie 🤷♂️😂 on the other hand Wagon Wheel is a cover too but many people, like myself argue that for an all timer

"Set 'Em Up Joe" by Vern Gosdin is the quintessential country song. It's like every great country song was thrown into a music stew and out came "Set 'Em Up Joe".
The voice!
What a great comment, Tommy! Thanks for this whole thing.
Speaking abou bush was fine, the dumb part was when she apologized, but once she realized nobody excepted the apology and was still being blackballed she tried to go back and say screw off and that she didnt regret it. Basically what i mean is, dont pander say what you mean and stick to it

RJ’s Outdoors noo
Haha he wasted his first like 5 songs!!
OMG! No one likes The DC after they became political ?
To each his own, I say. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. At least he picked a good Dixie Chicks song!
Hahahahahahaha! I know, right?
'Hurt' was one of the most amazing moments in music. Johnny Cash captured his feeling about his life and career in one of the most poignant music videos ever to be created. A career like his is reduced to dirt. How many people can identify Johnny Cash, even though has hasn't been gone that long. It's all just a flash. He knew that when he recorded that song.
You know it's a nine inch nails cover right?
