I have over 1200 hours in this game, and this is the first time I've ever heard the term "Quest Defense." The amount of hidden detail in this game is insane.
When I saw this video it made my day a lot better. I like seeing you guys push the system and your abilities to their limits. Thanks a lot BTW I'm a GS main, but this made me smile as well. Great Job and love the vids.
@5:50 Wouldn't the second hit of iai spirit slash be affected by red buff multiplier if you get the parry frames? Or is that not the case even with that?
I’ve been watching all your videos and LS is the only weapon I use (not because I’m great with it, I’m just horrible with everything else) and my main problem is I get too excited and over commit to shit. But after watching you a lot I’ve found myself very calm as I continue to play and my fights are getting clean and quick because I’m patiently dancing instead of trying to just hit whatever I can. So thank you Peppo, for giving me some courage vicariously until I could find it myself.
Nice breakdown of everything that happened. Hopefully in Rise they fix the iai counter or at least make it so that the sweet spot always lands. It's such a fun move to use with a lot of build up and hype but unfortunately lacks usability due to how janky and inconsistent it is. Because helmsplitter is now reliant on wirebugs, iai counters might become more useful.
What's up with investigations and defense multipliers? how does that work? i didn't even know that existed... same for sweet spots on the longsword - 3% more damage? how do you even notice you have a sweetspot with that pityful bonus...
in that video explain about assain value 1.1 on sleep state and 1.5 on normal state. what if first slash is the momment before sleep and 2nd hit land when sleep? or is it too tight ? btw nice one peppo, at least can depend on iai more than helm breaksht
This was amazing, but i was wondering, couldn't u counter some attack with the iai spirit slash so to remain in the red gauge? I know that its basically impossible, but technically it could be done. Still i didn't expect a number so big with the longsword, great job.
@@strunkhendrik1998 That's incorrect. In MH Rise you'll level up the Gauge when you time it correctly, while here in Iceborne you just keep the same level.
@@ShinyKelp not exactly, the first hit of the saed doesnt reach as far as the second hit, the player lunges forward on the down strike, so as long as he gets the distancing right the first hit he'll land will be the more powerful part of the saed😀
I wonder if the red damage multiplier is applied to the second hit if you i-frame the move and not lose your red stack in the first place. In that case this number could be even larger in theory, if you get the other monster in the quest to attack you the very moment Dodo falls asleep. Good luck pulling it off though, I doubt any sane man would go for that shit.

Mmmh... If that's for elemental purposes (for example to beat Alatreon) I think Kjaar is the best, especially for the elemental crit passive, but don't take my comment too seriously, I'm still a noob ^^'

Why does it have to be “weebed out” that sounds so cringey. The greatsword is probably one of the most boring weapons in the game. All you do is hold the same button over and over again.
You've probably figured this out by now, but: No, partbreaker doesn't increase damage. It decreases the threshold that is needed to break a monster part, but doesn't affect your damage output.

I have to ask 2 things First, do you will make highest damage with all other weapons?,, Second,,, does critical state of xenojiva remain active when xeno is sleeping? I'm asking that because during critical state, his wings have an hitzone value of 100 raw and 15 dragon element, which is more than 10 dragon of dodogama's head
Dont quote me but I believe the "Quest defense multiplier" he spoke of plays a part in this. So because Xeno does not have investigations this multiplier is not possible to get and hence I dont believe it would work out any better. Though from what I looked up there very little documentation information on it so hard to say.
Damn what are you using? With full Fatalis beta armor set with max Heroics & Fatalis LS, I'm only able to get around 700 on a single hit. Of course Helmbreaker does alot more but that's not a single hit
The elemental damage numbers suck so hard... i get it, you don't optimize for that at all, but still. Can you guys make a video about the highest elemental damage number in the game? i got no idea where you might end up with that.

It doesn't change anything. You don't get the Red gauge multiplier no matter what, even if you time it correctly.
In MH Rise you will remain your gauge when countering correctly

For highest Elemental/ DPS, Kjarr. Always. But LS is a Raw wep. You should only go Elemental for Alatreon.
