  • I bet you won't believe how easy it is to make your own enchilada sauce! I will never buy a canned variety again. This recipe uses simple ingredients and can be made in the Ninja Foodi Cold & Hot Blender (my favorite way) or in your pressure cooker or on the stove!

    This looks great! But at least in the part of Mexico my family is from, we boils the chicken and use that juice and boil “guajillo Chile” once they have boiled for a few mins, you add it in the blender with garlic, water, some of the chicken broth, salt, and onion. No tomatoes are used! 😁 just in case you wanted to try them like that as well! Super delicious!! And authentic! I love all of your videos! They are great!

    My grandma always made ours with ancho chilies and never put tomatoes in it. I wonder what yours tastes like with a tomato base instead of a chili base.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never had one with all ancho chilis that I know of anyway! Maybe I have and didn't realize it. What is the liquid used when making it with ancho chilis? I wanted this one to be easy for people, but I'm sure it is not nearly as good as your grandma's!

    I use canned enhilada often, but there is nothing better than homemade.

    Whats the max amount you could put in that blender for that sauce to make a larger amount of the sauce but i know the you can only put so much in the blender at one time? Sauce looks good, i love red and green enchilada sauce. Maybe you can do a green one next.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would only double it in the blender. I definitely want to do a green one.

      Oh no! Where did you purchase it from? I know Ninja has a lot of info on their site for the Ninja Foodi, so maybe they have info on the blender, too.

    This is so weird. This is how white people eat enchilada sauce? Haha
    I’m Mexican. We use New Mexico Chile pods. Water, garlic, cumin…. Never had it made of tomato sauce. Hmm

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't say it was authentic, that's for sure. It's good though and I always have access to the ingredients. It's better than what we get in our stores around here that is for sure, which is made with tomato puree. I guess it's cheaper to make that way for bulk sales. I'd love to make your authentic recipe though!
