    Great video with loads of info. For a pom, seeing a cockatoo just popping about is amazing!

      Hi Geoff, the Cockatoo’s are very cool and fairly tame but can be a bit naughty and destructive, but I really love them. 😁

    The Wife cubes up a whole, small Watermelon and 2 Cantaloupe almost every week for snacks in the fridge (people snacks)
    My birds - all of them : ducks, chickens, turkey, muscovy, geese ... they all love the rinds/seeds/trimmings.
    Once a week or so its their favorite treat.

      They are a lovely and worthy addition to a homestead. If you haven’t seen this video then this explains some of the negatives to consider when owning ducks, but there are way more positives.

    My father had these ducks, and his geese had respect for them.
    They are good to remove snails and mice!
    My father often found dead mice in their (the ducks) cage, in the morning when he checked up on them.
    And they are nice, quite animals.

    All I did was focus on the beauty of your ducks' plumages, not to mention how healthy each one looked.
    I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of babies I'll hatch off a grey and white drake with a white hen and a black hen...

    Muscovy duck eggs will hatch in incubator?

  • @RealVedicAstrology
    @RealVedicAstrology 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I feed my 12 Muscovy ducks about 0.4 pounds of feed each a day, but they are not free range and have a 20 foot long pen, is that enough feed for them at about 2 and a half months old? They look healthy and I weighed one drake and he was already 12 pounds lol!

    How are you going getting straw bales now. In Queensland, they've been extinct for many months!

    • @MoatCottage
      @MoatCottage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can still get extremely expensive straw bales, so I am only using them as bedding and then the bedding goes onto the deep litter flooring. I am hoping to source directly from a farmer in the future.

    Ma'am what is the male female ratio? I have a male and 7 females is it okay?

    • @MoatCottage
      @MoatCottage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Fahad, that is a good ratio.
      I currently have 1 drake to 11 girls and he is managing fine.
      If I had 2 drakes that got along this would also be fine for 12 ducks.
      1:6 is good.
