Gee, you have a lot of ducks, and they are so beautiful too! I have muscovies, just 2 girls and 2 drakes this year. Both girls started laying about a week ago too, so great timing on this video. Can't wait for the babies to arrive 😊👍🐣
You know how I love your Muscovy videos. Our hen Muscovy started laying recently, and it’s autumn here in Pennsylvania. Our drake Pekin has been mating with her, and of course we take the eggs. I so wish we had the space to let her raise her own brood. Muscovies seem to make wonderful mothers!
Ok, so if I am raising these ducks for eggs, how do I know which one to eat and which ones to leave alone so she can hatch them. I am a newbie at this. Thank you.
Hi, I was curious if I had ducks hatching out now in the incubator, assuming they were a broody breed do you think there’s a chance they could be laying and broody before the end of this year? I live in Massachusetts USA for context.
I currently have 2 Muscovy ducks and 1 khaki Campbell duck sitting on eggs. I’ve had one batch of ducklings before and found the drake gave them a hard time so I kept them all separate for 8 weeks. How do you go about introducing young ducklings to a drake - do you have any issues??
I was thinking that all my 5 muscovies were females because they are all the same size and I was told the males are quite a bit larger. One has built a nest with feathers and is sitting on it. She covers the eggs with feathers when she leaves the nest. It really makes me wonder, do they sit on unfertilized eggs?
Hi Zippy, it sounds like you have all Girls and yes they will sit on unfertilized eggs and even an empty nest (if you collect their eggs). I have a video on how to get a broody Muscovy duck of the nest, which may help or she may stay there for months..... th-cam.com/video/eaKm44RVIXU/w-d-xo.html
I’m curious, how many Muscovy ducks or other fowl do you have?
16 turkeys plus 10 babies, 22 ducks and 28 chickens with more on the way. No muscovy ducks but I do love yours. Thanks for another lovely video
