What about all the anti-Snyder tools who said something about his daughter's passing? The funny thing is you don't see Snyderfans making 100s of videos crapping on other directors for whatever reason. Yet you come across 100s of anti-Snyder videos on TH-cam. The hypocrisy is hilarious.
What about them? I doubt any of the people who said such a horrible thing would just happen to stumble across your comment, so why are you asking people completely unrelated to that about it? Seems like you thought that the past actions of unrelated individuals could somehow excuse these people saying horrible things. Because if not, why even bring it up? And what exactly is hypocritical? I was able to find videos both in support and critical of Snyder pretty easy. Although the fact you labeled people as, "anti-Snyder tools", makes me believe that you've already long made up your mind about Snyder, and it's very likely that you're not interested in discussing why these films may or may not be considered good, as I'm assuming most criticism would fall under "anti-Snyder tools" being anti-Snyder just because they can, from your perspective. I've typed all of this because I deeply care about these characters, and want to see them done proper Justice on the big screen. I mean, there's a reason why Zack Snyder is no longer making DC movies, whether you would like to admit it or not. And while the passing of his daughter did contribute to that greatly, the cracks had already been growing long before he dropped out of Justice League. I guess I'm just very curious as to why you go out of your way to defend them. I understand that you may really enjoy these movies, but they can still just not be great adaptations of these characters. And that's ok. You can like something and still admit its faults. I'm assuming you think every video that is even a little critical of Snyder is, "anti-Snyder", right? Otherwise why bring them up? My point is that if you were to watch a lot of them, they in fact aren't "anti-Snyder", but instead "pro-DC", as in they just want the best for the DC movies. But whatever, you'll probably always just die on the hill defending Snyder, making comments calling out perceived hypocrisy. And of course I have to say, I'm not a Snyder hater. I think he can make visually stunning movies, but may leave a little to be desired in other areas. I just think Snyder was the wrong pick to choose for the DCEU. In interviews from when the DCEU was just starting, he makes it very clear that he doesn't want to adapt these characters on to the screen faithfully, he wants change the characters into what he thinks they should be, imo. And just the way the whole DCEU was haphazardly thrown together, without the time and dedication it deserved, makes me so sad. TL;DR I'm honestly sorry for how much I typed, but I feel like we could both agree that we just want to see good superhero movies. And while I do genuinely enjoy Snyders films, I personally don't believe he was the right choice to head up the DCEU, but nonetheless enjoy what he has put out.

I remember watching a TH-camr who constantly wanted the Snyder cut to be released (this was before the Snyder fans went super crazy) and he actually said that he NEVER enjoyed Superman before Snyder made Man of Steel, and I think that's one of the problems with the Snyder Cult. They don't care about Superman or DC, they just care about THEIR version of Superman and THEIR version of DC.

It’s somewhat similar in the comics. People have that issue for spider man where a writer will work on a character Long enough and people will get attached but when the next guy comes in and wants to tell their own tale then people have a back lash to it. I’m kinda like that myself when it came to Jason Arron’s thor god of thunder and Donny cates run too. They’re the versions of thor I like but when they ended I just stopped reading, I didn’t make death threats or harasses the new authors. Just stepping away because it ain’t what your into anymore is expected. Snyder cultists are just a hyper example of when fans get so toxic that they can’t move on.

As someone who enjoyed the Snyder Cut of Justice League and originally wanted more from Zack Snyder's universe, I can't stand these type of fans. They're incredibly toxic and insufferable. There's a point where people have to move on and accept change. I for one am very excited to see James Gunn's take on Superman and the DC Universe!! I have no doubt his Superman film will be an absolute Banger!!!
The Snyder cult is something else. I had a freind who got mad at me (and not gonna lie was about to get psychical) when I said the new Superman reminded me of Christopher Reeves Superman. He started yelling at me, and about how Christopher Reeves runied Superman the DCEU (never mind the movie came out in 1977), and that Reeves deserved to die. I never tossed a person out of my house faster.

The rest I agree of your statement I agree with but the new "Star Wars" is a cinematic atrocity that openly mocked the original while simultaneously ripping off its story lines. It didn't have to completely disrespect the original characters the way it did. Then to have the audacity to write Rey taking the Skywalker name, that is just insult to injury. Like "oh I'll take that too, and the estate on Tatooine. Like why would she want to do that after they spent 3 movies making the entire Skywalker family out to be ineffectual second rate Jedi prone to villainy and cowardice? Back to DC. I liked the Snyder stuff, because I am a lifelong fan of Superman. I wasn't entirely thrilled with Cavill as Superman though and I actually think he doesn't look the part. I think Corenswet is the best fitting casting we've had since Brandon Routh who I thought was f'ing perfect. Of course Christopher Reeve is the shit but that will probably never happen again. I am very much looking forward to Gunn's movie. I hope one day, after Disney has overdosed the public on their "Star Wars" and their greed has picked its bones dry that a studio who actually care about telling stories more than selling toys buys the IP and simply remakes 7-8-9 according to Lucas original vision.

The best way to describe the Snyder cult is like how Lex Luthor looks at Superman, in this case the MCU. They're jealous of the fact the it's a lot more popular and successful than their superhero franchise. They thought they can have the same treatment (and ego boost) with the Snyderverse as the MCU fans with the MCU but it didn't happen. It's like seeing a pepsi fan seething over the fact that everyone prefers Coke. It all comes down to insecurity.
Snyder is a deconstructionist director like J J Abrahams. Thats why material that fits into that like Watchmen which was about superheroes having too much power and having their way acting like assholes was so great. But its exactly why Batman V Superman and Justice league weren't well recieved. It was like Snyder was trying to deconstruct Superman with things like "superman was never real" but at the same time he presented superman as a beacon for humanity and the justice League to rally behind. Its like hiring a demolitions company to construct homes.
Eh I don't know if he necessarily likes "deconstructing" superheroes. I think he just really, sincerely likes superheroes who are edgy, ultraviolent, have sex, drink, smoke, etc. He didn't create Watchmen out of any desire to deconstruct superheroes the way that Alan Moore did. I think he just really liked the way the superheroes in the story acted. He thought he was just making a movie about cool, edgy superheroes.
For the record, Snyder's Watchmen is terrible. He used every opportunity to demonstrate that he had no real understanding of the book's themes, only its aesthetics. That movie is like a toddler dressed up as a superhero for Halloween...on the surface, the details are right, but underneath, it's just a baby with a full diaper.
Sir I don't think you understand superman as a character Ok so there are 2 sides of the superman. There's the cynical side, and the heroic side. The heroic side is where superman uses his powers to inspire hope. A true hero doesn't just solve all the worlds problems. A true hero saves people and inspires the less fortunate to be brave and stand tall. The cynical side is where superman decides to use his Powers to become a tyrant and rule the earth as a god. Superman grapple with these two constantly. Understanding that he has to become a symbol of hope but he also sees all the problems in the world and has to refrain from stepping over the line and forcefully fixing it with his godlike powers, becoming a tyrant. Snyder is the only person that has shown this in his movies. Superman realizes the kind of collateral destruction that someone with his powers could create after he kills Zod. And in Batman v Superman. He struggles with becoming a symbol of Hope which leads to the people resenting him and Lex Luthor trying to frame him as a tyrant I don't know where you got the whole Superman is not real thing

I had some Snyder Cultists respond negatively to a Twitter post. I ignored them because: 1. It was a nothing burger topic. 2. Their replies were weak sauce. 3. Not gonna waste time on cultists who's a-okay with letting children/family die to protect Superman's secret.
As a die hard dc fan for decades, I've seen more alternate versions of their characters than I can shake a stick at. So whenever new ones come along, I think what's one more? I'm just happy to see them on the big or small screen. Regardless.
For me, personally, my problem with the Snyderverse is less about the utterly egregious behavior of its fanbase and more about Zack Snyder’s sheer lack of understanding of the DC Universe, its stories, its characters, or its overall appeal. I cannot overstate how thankful I am that the Snyderverse is dead and buried. We deserve better adaptations of these iconic superheroes than what that pretentious, abysmal excuse of a franchise had to offer, especially regarding its awful take on Superman. Snyder made the major DC heroes out to be reluctant, unlikeable non-entities who had no regard for human life and loved violence and senseless mayhem more than actually fighting crime, which is the COMPLETE ANTITHESIS of what the DC heroes are supposed to be. The reason Snyder was chosen by Warner Bros. to do DC was because Warner Bros. for a long time wanted a darker and edgier take on Superman as far back as the 1990’s with early drafts and concepts dating back to Superman Lives’ concepts and ideas, many at Warner felt that Superman was held back by his brighter and more optimistic take on Heroism in a similar vein that Batman was during the 1960’s Batmania craze. There were some on the board who wanted Superman to be more traditional in the depiction as in more like his other adaptations where he is bright, optimistic, warm with an attitude; ect. But most on the old WB board were obsessed with transforming him; hence the long chain of unproduced darker takes on Superman in the 90’s and onward with Superman Flyby and the original unproduced Batman vs. Superman film; Returns arguably being the only exception to that rule despite the planned sequel being a lot darker and edgier. As for why Snyder was chosen himself specifically was merely because of his connections to Warner Bros., his wife Dana was on the executive board herself and contrary to what has been stated in the video (not that I blame the maker of the video for getting this wrong, Snyder Cultists have dominated this part of the narrative for years now); Snyder didn’t experience much of an uphill battle until around Justice League and the wake of the failure of BvS not making a billion dollars like intended and for having box office drop off that put Batman and Robin to shame. For much of the production of Man of Steel, the early Pre-Production of the DCEU and pretty much all of BvS’s production: Snyder pretty much was given free reign to do just about anything and was willing to capitulate with Warner Bros. board. For much of the era of Man of Steel’s release until BvS came out; Warner Bros. went to bat for Snyder and doubled down on his decisions; comic book news outlets and much of the media were in full defense mode with very little in the media suggesting Snyder made bad decisions at this time. When the drop off for BvS came, the tune clearly changed and the narrative started to fold as his supporters turned into cold feet having critics who wanted to change everything and challenge any idea that he had; actually bold and independent or not. It was purely economical that they challenged him, otherwise if BvS didn’t have a drop off, we would have seen continued unquestioning of Snyder’s decisions, especially since Dana left the company afterwards during production of Justice League.
As annoying as they are, rather than hating these people, I feel sorry for them. What kind of shortcoming must you have to generate fights on social media about directors and entertainment products? The Snyder Cult is noise, but ultimately insignificant. Had they actually mattered or be enough to make a difference, the DCEU would have bounced back. They are the first to scream, but also the first to abandon ship. I hope they keep to themselves, under whatever bridge they came from.

It's the same actor playing a different version of the same character. I disagree. He just likes to experiment. You don't have to like what was experimented but A LOT of research does go into these movies even for trash like Dragonball Evolution and The Last Airbender research was done and people looked at the source material but filmmaking takes a long time to process and you're trying to translate images from Manga Comics and Cartoons to a live action medium so it's not easy. The Hack Snyder stuff is lazy & unfair. Even saying Michael Bay is better because he's not "pretentious like Snyder" is crazy to me because I think Zack does a far better job at writing humans than Bay ever has. I watch Michael Bays films when I feel like turning off my brain. To quote Transformers unironically: There's More Than Meets The Eye when it comes to his Comic Book Adaptations I don't really care much for his non comic book stuff outside anything Zombie related. I'm a fan of the Snyderverse. But the Snyderverse fandom has made me embarrassed to be a Snyderverse fan. Superman is one of the main movies im excited for this year. I hope it is a success.
My only real problem with the snyderverse we saw was that it didn't feel like the DC Main universe, it feels like a popular elseworlds story. It's why I have a lot of hope for the DCU and James Gunn. Personally I think the best movie for Zach Snyder to do would be a Max Payne movie! Adapting a comic book: Check. Lots of slo-mo: check. It is literally perfect for him!
Listen i love Man of Steel and Zack Snyders Justice league however that time is over and i am excited for The new Superman with David corenswet. DC fans has to stop working against themselves it used to DC vs Marvel now its DC snyder fans vs James Gunn DCU why cant we enjoy them all
I enjoyed the Snyder Cut of Justice League, but I can say that same for the theatrical cut as I personally don’t rank those two that far apart from one another. It only gets worse from there, as I thought Man of Steel was an overall drag that didn’t feel like anything other than a standard Kryptonian Face off, meanwhile BVS is something I hope to never have to watch. 1 movie out of three, and from where his two unfinished films would’ve gone I see that this universe was practically a disaster that didn’t seem to have the drive of an widely connected DC Extended Universe. Meanwhile Gunn has a clear vision for what he wants similarly to Zack, but I feel more engaged to watch because I know he’s pushing for a wide spread of characters under a mandate of "Finish the script before anything else!", a practice we've somehow lost as time went on. Suffice to say, even from just the trailer I have more than enough reason to trust Gunn's vision over Snyder's.
My theory is that a lot of the people who run Snyder fan accounts were 13-14 years old when those films came out and just had endure the entire Internet shitting on them. But they grew resentful to anyone who hated those films.
Actually a lot of the snyder cultists are grown ups in their 30s and 40s they're just mentally ill people and a lot of them are Indians for some reason.
They based their personalities on Rorschach from that watchmen movie that completely missed the point of the comics. Hence their delusional views and cultist behavior
I wish the Snyder fandom move on and accept reality. if they love Zack Snyder, that’s completely okay but they need to stop trash talking online. The DC Fandom should stick together.
my problem with zack snyder is that there was a video of him talking about superman, and he said at one point "if I get my hands on superman I will tear him down I'll destroy his image".

The problem isn't Snyder... He's just a glorified music video maker ( an old term used for those who value style over substance and in your face splashy cinematography ). I'm pretty sure Snyder knows he's not a Nolan or a Villeneuve... It's the ignorant fans and the executive suits that thinks Snyder IS on Nolan or Villeneuve level that is the problem... Something I don’t get is that they cling so dearly to that version of SuperMan, claiming that he’s the most interesting and deepest take on the character, despite the fact that he’s actually the laziest and lamest. Henry’s casting was a phenomenal choice, and I feel that if he had been given actually decent material, he could’ve been the perfect SuperMan- but “if” doesn’t change what we actually got: a bland, shallow, uninteresting interpretation of the most iconic superhero in history, and they latch onto him purely because he’s stoic and gritty. Being dour and depressed doesn’t make him interesting, it doesn’t make him cool, it breaks the fundamentals of the character, and the way the cult keeps arguing “well he would have grown into the role!” Just makes me even more confused- so you wanna see SuperMan take ages to act like SuperMan after a broken and dysfunctional universe of movies gets even more messed up and dark, but you’re bashing the next movie where it looks like we’re just jumping right on board to potentially the most accurate take on the character yet, ON TOP OF setting up a brand new universe that shows loads of promise? Where’s the logic to that?
I 100% agree with this! Henry Cavill could’ve been a great Superman, but was completely and utterly wasted on a universe that didn’t value or understand Superman’s character or his appeal. Not to get off topic, but I absolutely LOVE the characterization and emotional depth the writers have given Superman in the current animated series, “My Adventures with Superman.” In all seriousness, MAWS completely changed my entire perception of Superman after the Snyderverse/DCEU brainwashed me into thinking Superman was something he actually wasn’t. The Superman in that show is so kind and charming, but he’s also sympathetic and surprisingly complex, which I especially admire and appreciate with that version. I was actually taken aback by MAWS’s take on Superman after being so disappointed by the bland and hollow take we on Superman we got in the Snyderverse. I’ve read more Superman comics the past 2 years than I have my entire life because MAWS inspired me to and it made me realize how wrong the Snyderverse got Superman. MAWS’s Superman is what I WISH Henry Cavill’s Superman was like, but never got.

They HAD to reboot it, it was really their only option. Aside from like one or two major successes, the DCEU was simply a dud with audiences, there was just too much shit in the mix for people to care.

I avoid engaging with the fan base, especially in anime communities. I stay out of those communities because I don't want the show to be ruined for me, and I don't want to hear about toxic "ships" every single day. This is one of the reasons why I can't engage with them anymore.

It could actually be a fun way to explore lesser-known heroes while still building on the bigger picture. I just hope the projects are great in the end. :)

@Absolutely. I have actually been rewatching many of them lately, I started watching Assault on Arkam last night. Suicide Squad:Hell to Pay I finished last night and a few days before that it was The Flashpoint Paradox along with the one after Justice League War. Constantine City of Demons is another I watched again last week. Not only are they good, they have rewatch value too.

The Snyder Cult is easily the worst and most toxic fanbase in modern fandom. The worst part about it is that Zack Snyder himself won’t check them and let people know he doesn’t condone the actions of his cult. It’s almost like he enjoys it because they keep him relevant. I’m not a Snyder hater and I even like some of his movies, even some of his DC ones. MoS was flawed but good, BvS was dog dookie (even the UE couldn’t save it. It just filled in plot holes and kept in blood), and I actually really liked ZSJL. When I saw ZSJL for the first time I actually became one of them for a split second because I was legitimately pissed with how WB treated him and how badly they butchered his vision. So much to the point where I started demanding more and wanted to see the story continue. But then I realized it just ain’t possible, that ZSJL was closure for Zack and his *normal* fans, and that it’s best to move on. The Snyder cultists need to do the same. And I’m not even saying that they have to be hyped for the new Superman/DC reboot. But just stop being annoying and constantly shitting on EVERY piece of promo and EVERYTHING Gunn announces. It’s tiring and annoying. Even if they could restore the Snyderverse, those asshats don’t deserve it. Especially when they keep accusing Gunn of being a pedo and attacking him and his wife constantly.
Oh, and another thing that’s hilariously annoying about them is that they think they have a superior taste in movies or that they’re smarter than they are. Like, if I say I didn’t like BvS or Rebel Moon (which is accurate, I didn’t) they’ll say I “didn’t understand it” And that “Zack is ahead of his time” or other dumb shit like that. Like no dude, it’s a very flawed movie. I get what Zack was going for, but his execution sucked lol. They really make him out to be on the level of Christopher Nolan or Martin Scorsese or Steven Spielberg or someone like that. They really worship him like a god as if he can do no wrong and lie to themselves. It’s really sad. You can like his directing style and like his movies, absolutely. Film is subjective. But what you mfers need to stop doing is acting like people are dumb or “just don’t get it” if they didn’t like the movies you liked or call Zack Snyder for what he is: a skilled visual director who, for the most part, lacks narrative/storytelling abilities, characterization, and getting the best performances out of his actors (aka the stuff that REALLY makes a good director). Not saying that’s always the case but it is what he lacks the most.
I've been a DC comics fan for decades and I'm really excited for the upcoming DCU projects, but the Fanatical Snyderbros make it so hard to just have any kind of normal positive or open-minded discussion. They're like a noxious infestation that just won't go away.

"When did movies have to make a billion dollars in order to be a success?" Since Hollywood set that precedent unfortunately. Thing is, a movies success depends on it's budget. If a movie is made on a billion dollar budget, then it has to make a billion dollars back and then more. If a movie's box office is less than the budget, then it's a failure. If it breaks even and that's it, then really no real money was gained. You could argue that movies are overfunded and I agree, but that's how it works in the movie industry.
Plus DC clearly was looking for Avengers money with BvS, they even hedged their bets by putting WW in there too and if the movie was any good, it definitely wouldve. I think some people forget how utterly front loaded that movie's BO was, even by today's standards. The word of mouth clearly didn't work in the movie's favor and cultists refuse to accept it

Like I've seen like 70% of DC Content (Comics Videos Games Animated/Live Action Shows Films & TV) and I don't agree with narrative that Snyder doesn't understand the characters. He does understand the characters and has read more than Alan Moore & Frank Miller. Alot of his visuals were inspired by Jack Kirby & Alex Ross plus he probably read The Death Of Superman so Dan Jurgens @ least he got 5 down & he's worked with Bruce Timm & Christopher Nolan so this perception of him is not one I agree with. You could argue that he could have done more but this idea that him and A LOT of his fans are limited and based is what causes these arguments.
@ZomgRuler I just don't believe he has. The finished product of Snyders films doesn't reflect a deep understanding of these characters. If you've only read The Death of Superman, you haven't read Superman. That's one of the BAD Superman stories. All Synder accomplished was dividing the fanbase, that's it. During the height of Marvel, Kevin Fiege never divided the fan base, and he IS a massive comic book nerd and you can see that in the og MCU films, being heavily inspired by The Ultimates from the 2000s with a mix of classic elements to make sure a general audience can enjoy as well. Man of Steel sucks, Justice League sucks, BvS sucks, the Synder Cut is overrated and all these projects contributed to this stupid idea of "Let's make Superman a fascist and evil" WHICH COMPLETELY MISSES THE POINT OF SUPERMAN. 9:37 When the Avengers made $1.5 billion unadjusted for inflation is when dc films started having to make billion dollar films and 13 years later its an expectation many comic book films have. But to be fair to Superman Legacy doesn't have to make a billion $. BUT it really should make more than The Batman (2022). Because if it earns less than that film, it indicates the Gunn-verse is not as big a $ maker as the Reeves-verse. Superman Legacy should almost be able to make more than Man of Steel, adjusted for inflation which i think is close to $800 million.

I was able to find videos both in support and critical of Snyder pretty easy. I've typed all of this because I deeply care about these characters, and want to see them done proper Justice on the big screen. And while the passing of his daughter did contribute to that greatly, the cracks had already been growing long before he dropped out of Justice League. And of course I have to say, I'm not a Snyder hater. I think he can make visually stunning movies, but may leave a little to be desired in other areas. I just think Snyder was the wrong pick to choose for the DCEU. In interviews from when the DCEU was just starting, he makes it very clear that he doesn't want to adapt these characters on to the screen faithfully, he wants change the characters into what he thinks they should be, imo. And just the way the whole DCEU was haphazardly thrown together, without the time and dedication it deserved, makes me so sad.
TL;DR I'm honestly sorry for how much I typed, but I feel like we could both agree that we just want to see good superhero movies. And while I do genuinely enjoy Snyders films, I personally don't believe he was the right choice to head up the DCEU, but nonetheless enjoy what he has put out.

It’s somewhat similar in the comics. People have that issue for spider man where a writer will work on a character Long enough and people will get attached but when the next guy comes in and wants to tell their own tale then people have a back lash to it.
I’m kinda like that myself when it came to Jason Arron’s thor god of thunder and Donny cates run too. They’re the versions of thor I like but when they ended I just stopped reading, I didn’t make death threats or harasses the new authors. As someone who enjoyed the Snyder Cut of Justice League and originally wanted more from Zack Snyder's universe, I can't stand these type of fans. They're incredibly toxic and insufferable. I am very much looking forward to Gunn's movie. I hope one day, after Disney has overdosed the public on their "Star Wars" and their greed has picked its bones dry that a studio who actually care about telling stories more than selling toys buys the IP and simply remakes 7-8-9 according to Lucas original vision.

Snyder is a deconstructionist director like J J Abrahams. Thats why material that fits into that like Watchmen which was about superheroes having too much power and having their way acting like assholes was so great.
But its exactly why Batman V Superman and Justice league weren't well recieved. It was like Snyder was trying to deconstruct Superman with things like "superman was never real" but at the same time he presented superman as a beacon for humanity and the justice League to rally behind. Its like hiring a demolitions company to construct homes.
Eh I don't know if he necessarily likes "deconstructing" superheroes. I think he just really, sincerely likes superheroes who are edgy, ultraviolent, have sex, drink, smoke, etc. He didn't create Watchmen out of any desire to deconstruct superheroes the way that Alan Moore did. I think he just really liked the way the superheroes in the story acted. He thought he was just making a movie about cool, edgy superheroes.
For the record, Snyder's Watchmen is terrible. He used every opportunity to demonstrate that he had no real understanding of the book's themes, only its aesthetics. That movie is like a toddler dressed up as a superhero for Halloween...on the surface, the details are right, but underneath, it's just a baby with a full diaper.

The heroic side is where superman uses his powers to inspire hope. A true hero doesn't just solve all the worlds problems. A true hero saves people and inspires the less fortunate to be brave and stand tall.
The cynical side is where superman decides to use his
Powers to become a tyrant and rule the earth as a god.
Superman grapple with these two constantly. Understanding that he has to become a symbol of hope but he also sees all the problems in the world and has to refrain from stepping over the line and forcefully fixing it with his godlike powers, becoming a tyrant.
Snyder is the only person that has shown this in his movies.
Superman realizes the kind of collateral destruction that someone with his powers could create after he kills Zod. And in Batman v Superman. He struggles with becoming a symbol of Hope which leads to the people resenting him and Lex Luthor trying to frame him as a tyrant

For me, personally, my problem with the Snyderverse is less about the utterly egregious behavior of its fanbase and more about Zack Snyder’s sheer lack of understanding of the DC Universe, its stories, its characters, or its overall appeal. I cannot overstate how thankful I am that the Snyderverse is dead and buried. We deserve better adaptations of these iconic superheroes than what that pretentious, abysmal excuse of a franchise had to offer, especially regarding its awful take on Superman. Snyder made the major DC heroes out to be reluctant, unlikeable non-entities who had no regard for human life and loved violence and senseless mayhem more than actually fighting crime, which is the COMPLETE ANTITHESIS of what the DC heroes are supposed to be.

The reason Snyder was chosen by Warner Bros. to do DC was because Warner Bros. for a long time wanted a darker and edgier take on Superman as far back as the 1990’s with early drafts and concepts dating back to Superman Lives’ concepts and ideas, many at Warner felt that Superman was held back by his brighter and more optimistic take on Heroism in a similar vein that Batman was during the 1960’s Batmania craze.
There were some on the board who wanted Superman to be more traditional in the depiction as in more like his other adaptations where he is bright, optimistic, warm with an attitude; ect. But most on the old WB board were obsessed with transforming him; hence the long chain of unproduced darker takes on Superman in the 90’s and onward with Superman Flyby and the original unproduced Batman vs. Superman film; Returns arguably being the only exception to that rule despite the planned sequel being a lot darker and edgier.
As for why Snyder was chosen himself specifically was merely because of his connections to Warner Bros., his wife Dana was on the executive board herself and contrary to what has been stated in the video (not that I blame the maker of the video for getting this wrong, Snyder Cultists have dominated this part of the narrative for years now); Snyder didn’t experience much of an uphill battle until around Justice League and the wake of the failure of BvS not making a billion dollars like intended and for having box office drop off that put Batman and Robin to shame. For much of the production of Man of Steel, the early Pre-Production of the DCEU and pretty much all of BvS’s production: Snyder pretty much was given free reign to do just about anything and was willing to capitulate with Warner Bros. board. For much of the era of Man of Steel’s release until BvS came out; Warner Bros. went to bat for Snyder and doubled down on his decisions; comic book news outlets and much of the media were in full defense mode with very little in the media suggesting Snyder made bad decisions at this time. When the drop off for BvS came, the tune clearly changed and the narrative started to fold as his supporters turned into cold feet having critics who wanted to change everything and challenge any idea that he had; actually bold and independent or not. It was purely economical that they challenged him, otherwise if BvS didn’t have a drop off, we would have seen continued unquestioning of Snyder’s decisions, especially since Dana left the company afterwards during production of Justice League.
As annoying as they are, rather than hating these people, I feel sorry for them. What kind of shortcoming must you have to generate fights on social media about directors and entertainment products? It's sad. I hope they realize what they are saying and doing, not only for the sake of DC fandom, but also for the sake of themselves.

I disagree. He just likes to experiment. You don't have to like what was experimented but A LOT of research does go into these movies even for trash like Dragonball Evolution and The Last Airbender research was done and people looked at the source material but filmmaking takes a long time to process and you're trying to translate images from Manga Comics and Cartoons to a live action medium so it's not easy. The Hack Snyder stuff is lazy & unfair. Even saying Michael Bay is better because he's not "pretentious like Snyder" is crazy to me because I think Zack does a far better job at writing humans than Bay ever has. I watch Michael Bays films when I feel like turning off my brain. To quote Transformers unironically: There's More Than Meets The Eye when it comes to his Comic Book Adaptations I don't really care much for his non comic book stuff outside anything Zombie related.

My only real problem with the snyderverse we saw was that it didn't feel like the DC Main universe, it feels like a popular elseworlds story. It's why I have a lot of hope for the DCU and James Gunn.

I enjoyed the Snyder Cut of Justice League, but I can say that same for the theatrical cut as I personally don’t rank those two that far apart from one another. It only gets worse from there, as I thought Man of Steel was an overall drag that didn’t feel like anything other than a standard Kryptonian Face off, meanwhile BVS is something I hope to never have to watch. 1 movie out of three, and from where his two unfinished films would’ve gone I see that this universe was practically a disaster that didn’t seem to have the drive of an widely connected DC Extended Universe.
Meanwhile Gunn has a clear vision for what he wants similarly to Zack, but I feel more engaged to watch because I know he’s pushing for a wide spread of characters under a mandate of "Finish the script before anything else!", a practice we've somehow lost as time went on. Suffice to say, even from just the trailer I have more than enough reason to trust Gunn's vision over Snyder's.
My theory is that a lot of the people who run Snyder fan accounts were 13-14 years old when those films came out and just had endure the entire Internet shitting on them. But they grew resentful to anyone who hated those films.

Something I don’t get is that they cling so dearly to that version of SuperMan, claiming that he’s the most interesting and deepest take on the character, despite the fact that he’s actually the laziest and lamest. Henry’s casting was a phenomenal choice, and I feel that if he had been given actually decent material, he could’ve been the perfect SuperMan- but “if” doesn’t change what we actually got: a bland, shallow, uninteresting interpretation of the most iconic superhero in history, and they latch onto him purely because he’s stoic and gritty. Being dour and depressed doesn’t make him interesting, it doesn’t make him cool, it breaks the fundamentals of the character, and the way the cult keeps arguing “well he would have grown into the role!” Just makes me even more confused- so you wanna see SuperMan take ages to act like SuperMan after a broken and dysfunctional universe of movies gets even more messed up and dark, but you’re bashing the next movie where it looks like we’re just jumping right on board to potentially the most accurate take on the character yet, ON TOP OF setting up a brand new universe that shows loads of promise? I 100% agree with this! Henry Cavill could’ve been a great Superman, but was completely and utterly wasted on a universe that didn’t value or understand Superman’s character or his appeal. Not to get off topic, but I absolutely LOVE the characterization and emotional depth the writers have given Superman in the current animated series, “My Adventures with Superman.” In all seriousness, MAWS completely changed my entire perception of Superman after the Snyderverse/DCEU brainwashed me into thinking Superman was something he actually wasn’t. The Superman in that show is so kind and charming, but he’s also sympathetic and surprisingly complex, which I especially admire and appreciate with that version. I was actually taken aback by MAWS’s take on Superman after being so disappointed by the bland and hollow take we on Superman we got in the Snyderverse.
I’ve read more Superman comics the past 2 years than I have my entire life because MAWS inspired me to and it made me realize how wrong the Snyderverse got Superman. MAWS’s Superman is what I WISH Henry Cavill’s Superman was like, but never got.

I avoid engaging with the fan base, especially in anime communities. I stay out of those communities because I don't want the show to be ruined for me, and I don't want to hear about toxic "ships" every single day. This is one of the reasons why I can't engage with them anymore.

Suicide Squad:Hell to Pay I finished last night and a few days before that it was The Flashpoint Paradox along with the one after Justice League War. Constantine City of Demons is another I watched again last week. Not only are they good, they have rewatch value too.

The Snyder Cult is easily the worst and most toxic fanbase in modern fandom. The worst part about it is that Zack Snyder himself won’t check them and let people know he doesn’t condone the actions of his cult. It’s almost like he enjoys it because they keep him relevant. I’m not a Snyder hater and I even like some of his movies, even some of his DC ones. MoS was flawed but good, BvS was dog dookie (even the UE couldn’t save it. It just filled in plot holes and kept in blood), and I actually really liked ZSJL. When I saw ZSJL for the first time I actually became one of them for a split second because I was legitimately pissed with how WB treated him and how badly they butchered his vision. So much to the point where I started demanding more and wanted to see the story continue. But then I realized it just ain’t possible, that ZSJL was closure for Zack and his *normal* fans, and that it’s best to move on. The Snyder cultists need to do the same. And I’m not even saying that they have to be hyped for the new Superman/DC reboot. But just stop being annoying and constantly shitting on EVERY piece of promo and EVERYTHING Gunn announces. It’s tiring and annoying. Even if they could restore the Snyderverse, those asshats don’t deserve it. Especially when they keep accusing Gunn of being a pedo and attacking him and his wife constantly.
Oh, and another thing that’s hilariously annoying about them is that they think they have a superior taste in movies or that they’re smarter than they are. Like, if I say I didn’t like BvS or Rebel Moon (which is accurate, I didn’t) they’ll say I “didn’t understand it” And that “Zack is ahead of his time” or other dumb shit like that. Like no dude, it’s a very flawed movie. I get what Zack was going for, but his execution sucked lol. If a movie is made on a billion dollar budget, then it has to make a billion dollars back and then more. If a movie's box office is less than the budget, then it's a failure. If it breaks even and that's it, then really no real money was gained. You could argue that movies are overfunded and I agree, but that's how it works in the movie industry.
Plus DC clearly was looking for Avengers money with BvS, they even hedged their bets by putting WW in there too and if the movie was any good, it definitely wouldve. I think some people forget how utterly front loaded that movie's BO was, even by today's standards. The word of mouth clearly didn't work in the movie's favor and cultists refuse to accept it

@@tonydelia9998A Deep Understanding is a horse of a different Color. I personally had good experiences and can understand why they're not for everyone with most of his movies but the truth is I can't process the level of hate people have for the movies. They're not the end of the world.
9:37 When the Avengers made $1.5 billion unadjusted for inflation is when dc films started having to make billion dollar films and 13 years later its an expectation many comic book films have. But to be fair to Superman Legacy doesn't have to make a billion $. BUT it really should make more than The Batman (2022). Because if it earns less than that film, it indicates the Gunn-verse is not as big a $ maker as the Reeves-verse. Superman Legacy should almost be able to make more than Man of Steel, adjusted for inflation which i think is close to $800 million.

I am going to say something controversial, I hated Henry Cavill's Superman, and I thank he is an overrated actor. Just like Zack Snyder is an overrated film maker.
