    I think it's a big misinterpretation when one thinks an ENTJ is "closeminded."
    We are not.
    We think very outside the box and are always accepting critisms; we're just super confident when we belive something is correct.
    Also, I'm love with INFJs lol They're my favorite type and the one I want to marry, but everyone always says how terrible it is xD I think it can be great if the ENTJ recognizes the INFJs feelings.

      Well knowing how I was when I was younger dude I was very narrow minded as an ENTJ I did not overcome this until I started studying MBTI and started learning about the cognitive functions.

      I agree, but I think her point was to say that we can COME OFF as close minded, when in reality it's not that we are closed mined at all. The fact is that we've looked at all of the facts we could find and drew a firm conclusion and that is that. I know I will draw a firm conclusion, but I tend to change very quickly if new information arises that is important and applicable. I love INFJs, but they can have a really, really hard time understanding that our reaching conclusions is not us dismissing them.

    I find ENTJ-INFJ interactions to be productive, especially when both are calm. Both have Ni and Te or Fe, which proves to be a very insightful point of difference. But when there's a conflict, my goodness, does poop hit the fan.

      I think that is a very accurate assessment! I wouldn't want to see an INFJ and ENTJ in an argument. I think we both can be a bit stubborn and Ni fixed. I think we also come from such different perspectives. Fe Vs. Te when applied to Ni.

    My ENTJ EX won't leave me alone! I am super direct with him about there being no chance of romance for us again in the future, yet he keeps trying to creatively problem solve us back into a relationship. This is not romantic to me, it's just disrespectful. This is part of the reason I don't want to be with him ever again.. BC he is so pushy and it comes off manipulative and emotionally insensitive.

    As an ENTJ: I think we are too efficient, to the point that even a tiny bit of feeling is seen as inefficiency, however we will cry like a baby girl about puppies and seniors…lol
    You are right, for ENTJ, it is a constant effort to battle with "inefficient" people around us, hoping at the same time grow our Fi. You seem Fe dominated, which will act like a mine around ENTJ, at some point , your feeling is gonna get hurt,lol sorry :P good video!

    I have an ENTJ trainer in my gymnastics class. He's very charismatic, intense and inspiring. He was able to remain cool-headed when someone in our group broke their leg in the middle of a presentation, which was certainly a strength (like you said at 10:20 or so), as he prevented us from going over there, and got us to finish our show.
    I think in a time of crisis, the ENTJ will not be the one to console, but to fix the problem or adapt as well as he/she can.

    • @raijin6918
      @raijin6918 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The reason he was calm is because his first response is not feeling it's rational thinking. Especially because he's not really emotionally attached if it was his wife trust me he would have been less calm. It's the fact that the ENTJ is naturally detached because lack of connection with the people. This makes us look calmer then what we really are and I have to be honest we can be reactive it's just less likely due to weak connections and bonds with other's, rational thinking and the trouble shooting mentality that derives from Te.
      Te is always seeking out to fix something, we are pretty calm in tense situations also due to being in tense situations many times we learn to control ourselves but we can still lose our shit when something happens to someone we are really close to. It may not be expressed outwardly but deep down in we are panicking or loosing it, you would see this through pacing back and forth.
      Just keep in mind, the less attached he is the weaker the reaction and the stronger the trouble shooting thinking comes in. We cannot help but to want to fix things we come off the factory line programmed that way.

    Stubborn? Rigid? Nah, most of us just believe in what is logical. :) If you can prove our beliefs or thoughts are incorrect though (with proof, of course hehe), we'll look into it and (most likely) change it. Most of us will thank you for it, too :)
    Also, we *do* have that "emotional noise" you mention in your video, but we just sort of... set it on a shelf... to look at... later. o3o;;
    Great video, thank you for sharing! :D

  • @thedestinedplace-onhiatus6735
    @thedestinedplace-onhiatus6735 7 ปีที่แล้ว +91

    Be forewarned: the following can come across as highly arrogant and cold unless you are familiar with how blunt and direct ENTJs' minds can be.
    That said, I think that perhaps the most common emotion for ENTJs is frustration mixed with melancholy as we often deal with others that either can't see our "vision" or are unwilling to reciprocate support for our goals to the same degree that we would do for them.
    In those moments, we probably tend to think something like, "How can you possibly not see or consider things from a different perspective than your own; have you always been this narrow-minded?" Or, "I was willing to go to the ends of the Earth for you, but when it comes to my needs, you aren't even willing to cross this measly 'river?'"
    [Here it comes --]
    To us, a lot of people seem to either prove themselves cowards or ignorant imbeciles. This can be deeply disappointing because our very goals are designed to enrich the lives of those very people we once had such faith and high hopes for before they likely "got in our way."
    ...and yet we press on, even though the clashes and heartbreaks along the way bear their fangs upon our bleeding souls behind the scenes. Something that Intuitives, especially NFs, probably see, and others don't.
    However, I guess that's the weight we've got to carry, being ENTJs and all.
    It's the "cross" we've got to bear in exchange for our world-changing ways.
    Hopefully this adds some light to what ENTJs are like. Cheers.

    As an ENTJ, I have three things to say about this video. Melody, you are one of the most beautiful creatures I have every seen. Two, this video is spot on. As an extremely self-aware, successful, and powerful ENTJ, I can assure you this is accurate! Lastly, while the ENTJ may seem "arrogant", confident or overly confident are more accurate descriptors. The reason for this is because of our previous successes. As such, the older ENTJs (not me, but I see me going down this path as well as other ENTJs) are even more confident and sure of themselves, but they also (as the video suggested at the end) begin to ease on their expectations of the world as most cannot meet them. That's not a slight on other types as we ENTJs rely on others to help us. I'm just being forward...you know...like and ENTJ! Lol Take care all!

      It can be a curse to be an ENTJ, our indifference makes it difficult for us to mesh with others plus we have the low numbers so we are more likely to be lonely. We look well but on the inside we can be torn apart but we won't tell people because we lothe showing vulnerability. We are very private with our emotions, usually we are in a good mood or happy because we are problem solvers, not too many things are difficult for us to solve other then our own broken hidden feelings. Our deeper feelings are buried within our subconscious we supress it to operate. I think most ENTJs are unaware of this because allot of this happens on the subconscious level but it all caught up to me because I've dug deep in myself to see what was there and this is what I found.

    As an ENTJ, i can tell you i am an empath, and it helps me asses people. I can sense a room. But i can also not give a fuck. Which helps with the empathy. I also read gestures and faces though, so that further boosts the ability to avoid getting overwhelmed by the feelings around me, if i can asses the room quickly. I have a really close INFJ friend, she helps me stay grounded and not get all focused on my goals. She reminds me that people are the reason why we're all here in the first place. Which takes a lot trust me! And that being an ENTJ is just a tool to help the world in some way.

      This comment isn't meant to offend any entjs out there, but if you're really an empath like I mean entj doesn't have fe on their function stack and fi is last on their stack. It just doesn't makes sense for an entj to be an empath because literally their function stack is meant to be logical rather than emotional. No offense, I'm just curious how is it possible lol.

    • @jackyp1893
      @jackyp1893 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the difference lies in how we deal with the empathic feelings. When I enter a room full of people who are anxious, I go through my Rolodex of Google research to implement tactics to boost the mood because I don't wanna deal with the bad vibes (I realize this is selfish but it's true). I also find that I need to remind people of the logical steps involved in a situation to problem solve. I also think empathy is just another word for "traumatized and therefore hyper-vigilant to social cues in order to cope".

    With the exception of a handful of lovely Entjs, who left genuinely thoughtful comments.....I’ve never read so many tone deaf, obnoxious comments in my life, regarding a thoughtfully made video, that someone bothered to spend her own time to make, that so many of you choose to criticize, thinking you are somehow being appropriate, or funny, or simply not caring at all, when it is so, incredibly rude. And a number of you are delusional enough to think you are empaths, of all things, and leave this as a comment, on a video made by one of the only types who actually probably is an empath. You could learn a thing or two from this person and her lovely, intuitive, insightful video.

    I'm an ENTJ married to an INFJ for 8 years. It's been a bumpy road as I struggle to keep up with her feelings and she can't stand my bluntness. It's almost like she lives in a fantasy. She wants to live in her ideal world when real life is another thing. We clash as I'm very logical and she comes across as a fantasist hippy. I struggle now and again however how I dealt with it is through maturity. I had to be open minded more as naturally I am very loyal to her and love her to bits. I don't agree with her many times but I agree to disagree to stay married. Lol
    Romance is hard! I feel like I'm suffocating when talking about feelings. Ewwww. She always wants me to be romantic. I'm learning though. How I learnt is fulfill her requests and literally act as I'm interested... Lol. Hope she doesn't read this. 😆

I try really hard to be more realistic and logical, and he talks about feelings and "puts pillows" on how he talks to me. In the end we just find each other fascinating and fun. Keep going! I'm an entj woman. I'm also an empath. I spent a large part of my life never understanding why people would say I was being a "bitch" I mean I'd be completely clueless why they would think that , when I know I was trying to help and I was right. I'd begin thinking they were just trying to divert. Until I was typed and learned that I'm not naturally intune with peoples feelings. I feel we are one of the most misunderstood types. Most people view us in a negative light. We have feelings. We do care. Theres just some things we have Expierienced and know through trial and error work and we wish to share our knowledge. Feelings have nothing to do with logic and results . I for one understand the importance of others mental well being . I have the " We are all in this together ", mentality. Seriously, other's successes equal our success. As I've grown older. I do still have to make a conscience effort to take peoples feelings into consideration. I spend most of my days occassionally being accused of things that are not true about me , by people who I'm most close to , even considering all the proof in the world I am not any of those things. I'm not a hypocrite, I'm not bias, or jealous. Of anything. But these things are projected on me. Because we live in a world where people dont want to admit the truth about themselves. I dont care to win. Or always be right , no one is better than anyone. Etc. How about quit stalling and get your shit together. Lol. It's impossible to lie to me once I know you. And I know people fairly quickly. I see everything, read between the lines, and dont forget anything. My job if you're in my face to send you in the right direction to get your shit together. If you dont like it or dont want to do the work, I assure you, I wont be in your face . I just dont enable bullshit. Doesnt make me a bitch. Means I care.

    When you do a video about ENTJ's, the one mistake you shouldn't make is being inefficient. Which you were. FOUR damn minutes of ranting, do you want to frustrate us? XD
    Yes, of course we are stubborn. Why? Because we are rarely proven wrong. People want to change our minds, not because we are wrong, but because the truth hurts your feelings. Hell, if you can prove us wrong with logic and facts (which is what really matters), you immediately gain our respect, which very few people manage to earn.

    • @salamasamman1490
      @salamasamman1490 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Even when people prove with logic and facts, you will keep your opinion and will not change it. Thats why you are relly bad at conversations becauss in general you don't want to find the thruth. But you want to be right and to gain the feeling of the win. That's why it hard for you to be a great friend or any kind of emotional role. I know, you will say that i just say that because i just want to say am right, which is completly wrong. It is a problem of entj personality just like every personality type has problems and weaknesses

    Could you do a video about INTJs? Cause I as an INFJ are strangely drawn to them...ENTJs not so much which is a bit weird but probably they are a little too harsh for my feeling based personality 😂 I think one of my colleagues might be an ENTJ...I sometimes think she is changing her personality like 10times a day....she can be friendly when you talk with her in private but when it's about work she is ignorant and cold and doesn't seem to care if she just hurt you. She knows everything better although it's not even her special field. If you want to ask her something simple you have to better announce it like 3 days before otherwise she feels disturbed during her work and gets rid of you with fast words. I am frightened of her sometimes. But then her other better personality comes around she suddenly behaves like she is an old friend of you. She is freaking me out so much honestly.

    ENTJs are ridged when they have not learn to use their full stack. I see many flaws in the venella ENTJ and you can help change him by chipping away at his flaws with negativity and positivity reinforcement.
    I used to be this way and that changed when I started learning about MBTI, I consciously decided to change this behavior because I saw it as a dangerous flaw. It put too much of a limitation on my ability to simulate multiple outcomes and I also became less judgemental when I made this adjustment.

    My husband is an ENTJ and the man believes he is comprised of facts. Not that he has facts...that he embodies facts. Feelings/intuition are not logically measurable...thus invalid. No, go ahead and say it; arrogance is a good word. It's a challenge. I frequently have a hard time putting understandings that I intuit into language that he can understand and presents with his version of validity. He's often concerned only with completing a task efficiently. The scars of what it took to accomplish it are not within a spectrum that he is aware of. If he hurts my feelings or invalidates me, my hurt is a personality flaw. I try to give him the example that it's as though there are colors that he is blind to that I can see but he can't. Haha...he instantly dismisses that as ludicrous. He is good at anything he takes on. He gets shit done. He throws himself into anything he does and becomes the best at whatever it is. I love that he's always trying to move forward and better himself. He's very loyal and responsible. So, it's not all negative. I just believe that INFJs and ENTJs is a very challenging union.

      My ENTJ husband is wonderful. ENTJ's actually do have feelings, they just experience them and cognitively process them in a totally different way to INFJ's. If you are a REAL INFJ, you will know your husband right down to the last cell of his soul. If you really do see things he's blind to, then quietly inform him of exactly what it is you have realized that he has failed to take into account. The ENTJ will not be hurt by "extra" information. The trick is HOW you present your INFJ information, to the ENTJ.

    +Miss Melody hahahahahahahahaha 7:45 You're INFJ? I'm ENTJ...
    NTs (and specially NTJs) are really really good to plan things in long terms and giant steps. Introspective abstracting thinking style, is what you were missing there. =) I like to call it the quintessential Timeless thinking style (which also applies for INFJs and ENFJs for their Feeling style... is why MBTI considers them the best counselors while the other feeling types tend to be more disturbing when dealing with other people's feelings, the same way ENTJs and INTJs are really really good at thinking in comparison to the other thinking types). I really wanted to meet an NFJ in person...
