    Oh my gosh Marlys…..I love your snippet roll. It’s so gorgeous…..I love that it feels/looks mostly neutral with just the small accents of blue and red. You could add as much or little colour as you want depending on how neutral you want it to stay. Awesome job. I can’t wait to try one like it. Also loved the way you stamped on the paper to start with as a jumping off point.❤❤❤

    Very useful to see your process. I think I'll use this technique with some of my mom 's old cookbooks. She had a lot of notebooks filled with newspaper clippings of recipes. (Too many to use, actually.) So, I found her notations of trips she went on in her own handwriting. (She was a big traveler.) So, I can add her travel snippets to these recipe pages. It's nice to have found an idea that will showcase her interests. You've inspired me! Thank you

    I love your videos and your creative designs and mind. You’re so incredibly talented. I wonder if you work for Mr Holtz. I also think he (and his team) come up with great products at decent prices.
    And it’s just an idea or thought that maybe, you could mix it up a bit with some other supplies. Please don’t think I’m being negative! Maybe you have a contract for a certain number or videos, I don’t know how that works.
    It’s probably because I don’t have all of that cool stuff to try and even remotely make something similar
    Gorgeous snippet roll!

    • @Marlydesign
      @Marlydesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm a maker for Tim Holtz & of course I do not think you are negative. I have been on your side, still am a little bit.....because you can not have or buy it all. I do have video's where I also use other materials, like my gluepages (printed papers). And what I also did a lot was go to the dollar store or office supply store and get papers, labels, file folders, etc.....but I always like to add something from Tim, even when it is a small embellishment.

      What I see a lot that it is rolled up on a cilinder shaped item, but mine did not make it that far, because I had to many layers. But I like the cuteness of how it turned out with the string. I would definitely showcase it on a table or serving tray....

      I like to keep my paper snippet roll flat so I don't have to flatten it out when I want to use it for a pocket, side tuck , a 3" page cluster or a bag topper. Looking at my rolls, none of them are rolled! Lol. I guess I keep them all flat. I have an old jewelry hanger that I have at the end of my shelf that I hang them on.

      Collage medium is a glue & it dries translucent and is easy to apply with the narrow tip on the bottle ❤
