    I followed along with your snippet roll video but didn't have any long rolls of paper or Tyvek. I used 2 inch wide and as long in length as you want, pieces of fabric. It worked wonderfully and the sewing machine obviously didn't have a hard time sewing it. No adhesive to gum up the needle. Thank you for giving us ideas on how to use the snippets! Love these!

    Hi Tina, I love your videos and snippet rolls. The actor is Michael Christopher Sheen. He is Welsh and absolutely brilliant. I am American and live in Pennsylvania however I watch very few American programs. Nearly everything I watch is from the UK.

    I love your “fluffing” about😊. Love all these pieces of snippet on each project...how versatile. I’ve not seen that little closure before but it is just so darn cute I am going to try it on my journal. Thank you Tina for all the wonderful videos you produce for us. They are very much appreciated.

    Love the idea of using the snippet roll like this and will definitely try it. I took a course about three years ago where I leaned how to use the cash register rolls to make snippets using paint, stencils, stamps, etc. It was a great way to resuse those stamps that had been sitting around collecting dust. TFS the inspiration, Tina!

    The snippet pockets are lovely and a great idea. I never throw away any of my little bits since I use them as smaller bits for long tags, tucks or belly bands, I save it all… lol! You don’t have to toss any of it out unless you don’t like using little bits and pieces. Great job! 😊💖😊

    These are so stinking cute Tina! They turned out well and the design fit each of the pieces. Might you order bling online and have it delivered? It is very convenient to do so here in the States, so I hope it is fairly easy for you as well. I adore Eva from Bohemian Crafting and watch her as often as possible. She is so energetic and is an inspiration. Her videos got me into Junk Journaling! She was so helpful when our son-in-law was being treated for non Hodgkins Lymphoma, and donated a lovely journal for the fund raising done for his bills. I have always enjoyed your videos, and have loved seeing your skill evolve, and how much stronger of a presenter you have become. Keep up the good work, and ignore anyone who is crabby. (They have their own issues)

      Pam TheSoundofChildren'sLaughter, Pam, I just read your comment. But, what caught my eye was your name. I have to tell you, someone had asked me several years ago what my favorite sound in the whole world was. My answer... “The sound of children laughing”. I have 6 Children, all married, 16 Grandchildren and one on the way. When we are all together, the laughter over flows my heart ❤️.
      Just wanted to tell you that.
      Is that your you tube/business name? Whatever it is, I adore it!!
      Have a great day and stay safe.

      Yes, I might have to order some bling! Still have a bit left at the moment 😉 . Oh that was so very kind of Eva to have donated a journal to help with the fundraiser, yes she definitely has a wonderful energy. Oh thank you so much for your kindness, I really appreciate your long term support, it has been quite a journey. I agree with Linda also about your TH-cam name, how lovely the imagery it brings to mind x

    Hi Tina, just an idea regarding sewing through the tyvek... when you stitched through the first two, I’m guessing that your needle was clean. Then when you tried to sew through the third one, there may have been dried glue build up and on the needle, which will make it difficult going through the sticky tyvekI. I don’t know, maybe you did change the needle. But it was a thought. I love snippet rolls. I love how you used them. Stay safe and sending hugs 🤗.

    • @amythomas9204
      @amythomas9204 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Omg I have been in such a funk lately. I ran across your latest snippet roll video using the book paper. Oh I’m so in love and I think you’ve restored my mojo! I love how you applied the rolls to these pockets and mats. It sounds like there are a couple of prior videos I’ll have to watch.
    I didn’t have the sound on all the time because of where I was watching but I did catch the part where you said the sewing machine was giving you grief going through the Tyvek. Could you apply a strip of the Tyvek for reinforcement after the roll had been sewn? Just a thought. Or perhaps a different needle?
    Also I see you using the glue gun a lot here? Is this a norm for you or is it because you’re having difficulty getting the Beacons? I seldom use my glue gun, it just never works well for me. Best thing I glue with it are my fingers 🤣
    Thank you so much for inspiring. I’m always trying to use my scraps. When I do my rolls and projects I’ll link back to you with credit. Have a wonderful week! Patti

      Oh I am so glad that you are feeling inspired by the snippet rolls, they are really fun......and quite addictive! With regards to the tyvek, I really was liking it because it saved me gluing things down, but to be fair the gluing is fine too. I hope you have fun making some x

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry forgot to say, yes I have been using my glue gun a bit more again, I am sticking to the bosch branded glue sticks as I had been trying out other glue sticks previously and they just don’t work so well. I love using the glue gun as it’s so quick x

    Michael Sheen... it was bugging me when you were talking because I couldn’t picture Martin Sheen, an American actor, playing either of those roles. I had to look it up LOL. Love your snippet roll! I made my first one last night and I love it. Not a lot of thought needed to go into it. I used that brown packing paper that comes in my Amazon boxes.

    These are indeed so cool. You can pretty well take them in any direction you want. Is the tension correct on your sewing machine? From what I can see of the stitching, it appears to be a bit off. When you can see the bobbin thread seem to have a loop with the top thread running through, it is usually the case. Just wondering.

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Jean, no I suspect the tension is incorrect.......sewing is not exactly my forte! Lol x

    I love these snippet rolls they're beautiful! I'm new to journaling and junk journaling and don't know where to get the little elements that you use to make them though. Do you have a source that you recommend? Also I love how you use them but sometimes I don't see the point and covering up the beautiful cardstock with the snippets like looks card stock was already beautiful and had a beautiful flower there that was covered up with the snippet so I guess I don't have a very artistic eye but I still enjoy the whole junk journal thing.

    I love these so much and plan on making some tomorrow.. you keep beating yourself up for “overthinking” things but, actually, I honestly believe that one of the most important thing we can learn is to stop periodically and really look at the piece we are working on and ask ourselves, (1). Does this piece help to lead the eyes through the painting or collage in a peacefully and restful way? Does it add something like u(*gggg

    • @Sherry1946AL
      @Sherry1946AL 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I almost went to sleep and the iPad thought it would be a good time to play. To continue:Does it add something positive to the page, as a whole? Does it take away from the story I’m trying to say? These, as well as other questions can help you really help you form the habit of thinking about what you are trying to say in your piece.
      I love you all. What a wonderful group to work with!

      @shabbydabbydoodah  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know what the stitching problems were BUT you need to be aware that needles dull quickly when used to stitch through paper in the same way that you shouldn't use fabric scissors for cutting paper.

    I dont think it was the tyveck, its probably gummy from sewing through the glue. Fabtec can destroy a sewing machine. I know some people use a crappy chepo sewing machine for that reason.
