They don’t admire them just because they are trans. They are admired because trans people have to deal with a bunch o bull on daily but to announce yourself publicly you have to deal with double that. So to stand up and represent other people like that really does help trans people who might be struggling and need somebody to look up to for courage. Trust me I know when I say Trans people don't only deal with the outside problems coming from other people but before any transition, they deal with a lot of self-destructive thoughts especially if their community doesn't accept them it's really hard to look in the mirror and just accept what you see when you feel that is not you. It's even harder to accept your own feelings when a bunch of people tells you that it's wrong to feel that way. I have a friend who I got the chance to experience their time going through all of that. Before transition, it was a really dark time for her she would come and tell me about how she felt and her problems and every time it was a pain in my chest to see how things made her so heartbroken I'm glad to see how much better she is doing after the transition. But I basically thought the same way as you which in a way isn't wrong but she told me that had she not seen Jazz Jennings or had the friends she had she would probably not be alive today because she would have never had the courage to tell her family and endure the hardships that came with it.

I saw a video of a mother that had no arms. She was able to take care of her newborn, cook, clean, and do everything with her feet. Do I admire her? I admire that she didn’t let it define her, but instead worked hard to learn how to use her legs and feet in place of hers arms. To me, wearing a costume and changing your voice isn’t something to be admired.

No transgender I’m aware of is actually claiming to biologically be that sex that they identify as.. gender and sex are two separate things. This isn’t even disputed- look up practically any source you want. Gender refers to the social construct and it’s the representation of ourselves and it can change and is fluid.. sex, refers to the actual hardware- what you were born with. Nobody is arguing that a transgender woman IS biologically a woman after transitioning (there might be a few people who do but it’s not the majority), they’re referring to their internal wiring which can totally NOT match up w the hardware. This is even backed up by science. You guys are always bitching about an argument that’s not even being made ffs

Why did you watch this if you were hostile to it? I definitely believe there should be a regular ability to "read" hormonal levels. I have seen female members of my family with more masculine traits suffer horrifically with hormonal issues and thought, "If you could take a hormonal baseline at about age 10 and monitor for inconsistencies in levels so there could be less suffering from PMS & hot flashes... that would be such a blessing." And the same method could be used for transgender people... and maybe we could learn something from them rather than instantly judging them.
