Spoiler: My greatest regret is not including Sephiroth on this list.
He's a great boss, but doesn't have much going for him when it comes to story, which I believe was one of the more important factors in evaluating those bosses, by your words.
KH 3 is one of the best of the whole franchise and one of the best games of 2019 EVER. Its boss battles are epic and some of the best of the whole Kingdom Hearts saga. I mean it. Specially the final boss battle which is epic and awesome, Thanos Infinity War and Endgame movies levels os awesomeness.
KH3 battles against each member of the True Organization XIII are all epic and awesome, specially in the Remind DLC where they take the difficulty spikes to a whole new level of awesomeness.
Xemnas is the best !!
sephiroth is good, but i preffer him in Final Fantasy xddd
It is funny how in KH3 and KH2 we never see Sora's mom tell him to eat that cold dinner as punishment for leaving her.

Roxas vs axel doesn't even belong on this list.. how about that grim reaper thing in neverland on kh1.
My favorite fight is EASILY the 1v1 in the crater vs Ansem. I've legitimately never had so much fun fighting a boss, he's super fair and fun to learn but can still trip you up if you get too comfortable, plus how awesome (?) it is in retrospect that Terra is forced to watch as the boy he chose falls to darkness while the one he didn't battles for the light, in the same place he met both of them, all while being forced to fight for the darkness that overtook both Terra and Riku? God DAMN it man that rules

Yozora is my favorite boss in the series. It's the most Ff-esque moment in the series, more than the actual ff bosses. Also, Nachtflügel is my favorite song in the whole franchise

I liked this list a lot, it focused on a lot of aspects of a fight and made really good points for everything. My personal favourite would have to be Yozora, it's such a creative fight. It's full of those 'ah-ha!' moments that make other games so satisfying. Granted, ReMind is full of stuff like that, but Yozora is just so genius in so many ways.

I basically agree with your list. I would put Riku vs Sora on the actual list though, too iconic, too much fun. It's also one of the few pure keyblade duels in the whole series and for it to be friend vs friend just makes it so awesome. Having perfect timed dodges and blocks to Riku is a godly feeling because you feel on even power levels.
I also feel like a lot of the heartless/nobody bosses get slept on, I'm practically fond of the chameleon in kh1, the wonderland Boss with the torches and the cave of wonders Head. Also Leon when you first enter traverse town, not really a boss but replaying the game and actually being able to beat him is so fucking satisfying. Really most of the bosses in the series are memorable and great.
True, Riku vs Sora is so good. It's one of my alltime favorites and it killed me to not put it on the list lol.
But I may make a list just for Disney bosses, and one for heartless/nobody's because you're right, there are so many iconic bosses in the series, I'd like to give recognition to some more even if they're not as story-based.
I agree. The whole Sora vs Riku fight was already established since Destiny Island when you compete with him. You feel inexperienced and as a player, you could feel the rivalry with Riku. Therefore, the climax at Hollow Bastion makes it all iconic for me and my overall favorite level for the series. The second best fight for me is Sora vs Roxas in KH2 based on the emotion from the two characters especially Roxas. It's kinda like The Last of Us Part 2 where you're forced to play a different perspective by playing as Sora
I find it very doubtful that there is someone who couldn't figure out that they were fighting Roxas in that boss fight, unless they were just flat out not paying any attention.... and here are my reasons why:
1) The character is wearing an organization cloak (and even seemingly summoned Nobodies like an Organization member), and is explicitly called out by Sora as wielding a keyblade, Roxas is the only character we know of by that point that is both an Organization member and has access to the Keyblade.
2) The Character is using not 1, but TWO Keyblades, outside of Drive forms, the only other time we saw anyone fight with multiple keyblades is when Roxas pulled them out in the earlier fight against Axel... and this Character is even using the same two Keyblades Roxas used in that fight.
3) The Battle arena is the same Dive to the Heart platform that Roxas fought the Twilight Thorn earlier in the game. The extreme rareness of the Dive to the heart Platforms (only having appeared twice so far) means we should be able to recognize it immediately, and given the dream-like vibes of the previous times we've been there, being abruptly taken there for a surprise boss fight, should make it clear that this is no coincidence and that it means something.
4) Not only is the battle music the theme we heard before with Roxas, but this character is also using the same voice clips Roxas has when you played as him. So the music is pulling Roxas to our heads while we fight against someone who sounds just like him.
5) Despite it happening hours after we played as him, the game is constantly reminding us that Roxas is a character we played as for a good coupe of hours at the start, from the imagery in Twilight town to Demnyx calling Sora, "Roxas". In fact, just a small bit before we got to this fight, we had traveled through the digital Twilight Town, which Sora immediately referred to as "Roxas's Twilight Town", saw a flashback of Roxas destroying the digital copy of the computer monitor towards the end of our time playing as him, fought an army of the Assassin Nobodies that we only previously fought before as Roxas, teamed up with the final opponent from that section of the game, and witnessed that person's "dying" moments where he talks for a good time about Roxas and how much he misses him. Roxas should be near if not at the forefront of out minds at this time.
Putting all of this together, we are in an arena that has one of it's only distinguishing features being that Roxas fought in it before, Roxas's theme pouring out the speakers, while fighting someone who fights and sounds like Roxas, right after we just did a bunch of stuff that relate to Roxas.
Really, to me it seems about as subtle as a giant Flashing Neon Sign that says: "You're Fighting Roxas!"

Lingering will and yozora are definitely my top 2 favorites but surprisingly enough the third spot for me in terms of combat mechanics was zodiac aqua in 2.8

I completely agree on the roxas fight as oh my god it took me over a month to beat it as learning him pattern took a long time to get used to
I remember thinking that Donald and Goofy weren’t party members in any of the bosses on this list and so I hated it, because I just forgot about Lingering Will 💀
honestly my favorite stays KH2 Sephiroth. I had so much fun learning that guy. Aside from that one, definitely Roxas vs Sora KH2, gets my eyes watery 😔
Not having lingering will at 10 difficulty is CRAZY because i dont remember any of these other fights taking my 5 years to beat hahaha except yozora cuz i havent even attempted to fight him a 3rd time

Destati is not Ansem theme persay. His theme changes game to game but it does incorporate elements of Destati throughout it.
You're right, my mistake. I just always associate it with him because his boss themes always sound very reminiscent of it.

I don't know why but out of all the boss(not including super bosses) Xion(358/2) and Roxas(kh 2 final mix/1.5/2.5 collection) were the ones that gave me the most trouble.
I was ready to get mad at an 8 for Vector to the heavens until you reminded me of the other reused tracks in the fight. Easily best track in the series for me

Yo I just got done with the Aqua v Terranort fight because despite what you said about magic options being able to deal damage from afar, they absolutely were not for me. The moment I casted any magic, he would do that dark dash move that has complete i-frames over and over again until the effect dissipated. He even did it for my shotlocks as well. It was by far the most annoying fight in the game for me, not including MF of course.
goofy D link for goofy tornado does alot against him. all you gotta do is block and counter attack (heal block works) and the meter will be full
The difficulty for me was 10 on critical. He kicked my ass for 3 hours as kairi. Sors was 99 so I would have been able to kick his ass but kairi I was so shocked to play with her
Ansem II shows just how much you rely on party members without even knowing it. That alone is a good reason to like this boss.

Ok I like the list. And this is isn’t a dis or anything but how is kh1 unknown not on the list. Or even any of the Sephiroth fights in the list. I didn’t think the axel fight was difficult at all and I played the game at lv 1 both games

@@ryapowa I never said he was harder. The difficulty ranking is more about balancing, as I say in the beginning of the video. I've found a few ways to cheese Lingering Will, but personally haven't found a way to do that for Xemnas.

The story and difficulty scores for Sora vs Dark Riku (or Riku 2 as some may call it) should be like a 9 or a 10 because:
Upon completion of this fight, Sora uses the keyblade to free Kairi, but consequentially creating Roxas and Namine as his nobodies since he became a heartless. It's a pivotal point which sets up for the richness of KH lore and story for future games.
And
The fight itself is pretty much just as fair as the Ansem 2 fight. Pretty much every attack Riku throws at you is reactable. If you approach him he can do a side step which can throw off your attack, and he can even cast dark firaga if you cast magic on him, which can be deflected for more tech points.
I am a KH2 fanboy and I would have absolutely put this above the Roxas vs Axel fight (no disrespect to that fight tho).

Haven’t finished the vid yet, but Darkside needs to show up at least once. Most iconic bossfight that has ever hooked me into a game.
Yeah hard to argue with the Sora VS Roxas one, to think this was NOT present in vanilla KH2 is crazy, definitly the best addition of the Final Mix version story wise.
I'm not found of the BBS fight in general due to the command deck being not my thing but yeah storywise the Terranort fights are good altough I prefer the one with Terra, with Aqua it was to easy IMO especially the second phase is for some reason way easier than his first.
For KHI I do prefer the Dark Riku fight really felt like a good 1 v 1 against Riku and it was great.
For KH2 I'd like to give an honnorable mention to the Xaldin fight, cause he is great wake up call gameplay wise, as with his wind shield back when I played KH2 for the first time he was the first boss that's really going to punish you very hard if you rely on just mashing the attack button, as a result this was the first fight in KH2 that really force me to actually not brute force and pay attention to his pattern, which was really satisfying and he's been such an asshole with the Beast through the all game that it felt really great to finally kick his ass, and let's face it the dude is just a badass the moment he pulled off his 6 Spears was a big "OH Shit !!!" moment, only complaint is despite being a badass he isn't very relevant story wise and has little to no character development.
I find Lingering Will harder than Yozura. I have beat the latter. Still working on Will.

9:03 if this was not too hard of a fight, why is it also a 9 for difficulty? You said in the beginning that it was based on both the actual difficulty as well as the fairness, but here you also mention that you’re supposed to feel like a badass. Also the previously listed, “easily the hardest boss in the game”, is just an 8 in difficulty? Just feel like the Axel x Roxas rating should be lower?
Roxas literally wiped me for TWO WEEKS before I beat him.

Final Xemnas was a good fight but god I hate the stage. I got dissoriented way too much between the camera angles when locked on and the moving floor you hover over

Literally, during the story and the endgame 13 fights, I beat him on the first try. I don't know why it's considered a hard boss.

@@Jheff99 Ive heard about Critical being brutal. Not a fair Kind of Hard, just the get 1shot downed instantly kind of hard. Base KH3 was easy enough on Hard to make selfies.
@@TheRealJohnux Nah, I'd say it's as fair as KH2 critical. Here and there there's some one balancing issues with getting one shoted but overall it's pretty great. Great for KH veterans.
@@Jheff99 if you say so. I play KH2 on critical by default, it's pretty fair If you know what you are doing. With the exception of meatgrind canyon when you want to reach the Data fights but you are underleveled. The last gauntlet of that Area is probably one of the hardest Gauntlets in the Series.
