Brilliant build! You've certainly done this iconic fighter justice. Personally I usually apply the cockpit gage decal onto the piece before gluing in, but everybody has their own way of modelling and I respect that. Well done!

It honestly depends on the kit. There are some that I've found it just to be easier to hold off until the piece in in place, due to having no where to hold it or other various reasonings. There are others, like most Corsairs, where hands down it is easier to apply the decal before fixing the console in place.

Great, I like how you say ,take your own decisions about how you want the kit to go , because one has to adapt .

Exactly! And at the end of the day, it's your model and no-one else's. Do what you enjoy with it, and have fun! That's the most important thing in this hobby!

@Fenris Models i love planes for their beauty , and admire the courage of pilots, every build is a challenge ,and for me it's the doing ,more than the end result

Thank you! I quite enjoyed myself with this build, despite the issues. It's one I would definitely recommend so long as one is aware of those.

Great video! I enjoy the way you go through everything for the build. It’s really informative for a newbie. This model is really cool too

Awesome, I'm glad you liked it and it was helpful! Or informative/educational, anyway haha.

Great build friend! I usually prime the model in black before applying metallic paints, it seems to pop up a little better, at least for me. You did a great job here, keep up the great work!!

The thing with applying black all over is that, while you might get a little better of a shine (especially if it's gloss black), all of the metal panels end up looking the same. By giving it a preshade like this (or even a black basing) you get some nice tonal variations in your finish that look a bit better in my opinion.

@@fenrismodels but that's exactly my method, I usually start with a black primer, than marble the whole thing with grey or white, than apply the metallic paint, and lastly, after some coats of gloss varnish to "save state" the build, I use diluted oil paints to mímic darker and lighter panels a little better, after that comes gloss varnish, decals, gloss varnish, wheathering, gloss varnish and lastly the smoke marks with soft pastel's powder, Its hard to find hobby specialized stuff here so I don't have any way to fix the powder, it stays like thay. It's kind of a lot of work, but it pays out...

@@caioapgs Ah, ok, so the black-basing method! I thought you meant just a black primer then metallic paints immediately over it lol.
Tbh I haven't really tried black-basing, because I'm not convinced that the additional work yields that much better a result. I'm sure it does well enough, and I deff don't mean that statement as a knock against anyone who does!
I've been meaning to give it a serious side-by-side test to see how it does in my specific display set-up, though. Maybe I'll give it a serious go here on one of my upcoming aircraft videos!

@@fenrismodels The one thing I would give as advice is to not go heavy on the metallic paint coats, think of it as doing pre-shading for a normal color, you'll see that it will turn metallic much faster than when priming with white. Also, as always, the important thing is to have fun and feel good, so if you feel in the end that it is not worth the effort just don't do it again 😂. I'm sure you'll like it if you give it a serious try though 👍🏼

Great video, the audio (for me) is a little low,
    Those dang corrupted files!!!!

I'll tweak the audio in the next one, I was having some issues and it sounds like I may have over-compensated, then. Thanks for the heads up!
