I think it all has to do with the original resolution of the mesh, so low-poly meshes produce bigger folds, and high-poly meshes produce smaller folds. You can always start out low-poly first, and then throw a subdividion modifier on top. 😊
Awesome stuff, is there no way to build such clothes in Daz Studio without having to buy clothes add-ons? Do you always have to import to Blender to give Daz Studio models clothes or are there other ways of clothing Daz Studio models?
Can you use the Cloth Brush to deform clothing that the character is wearing? Can you use it to create dynamic clothing effects that would occur when it’s a windy day & when the character is in an action pose? Can you create a temporary effect with the Cloth Brush, such as a cape blowing in the wind, but then return the cape back to its original position before any modifications were made to it? Often, I need to pose the same clothing over & over again, so I need to revert it back to the original before I can create a new version of it. After all, a cape will blow in the wind in many different ways, and I would need to tweak it to create different variations of it for different scenes. Thank you 🙏🏻
Your voice has to be the top of the list for tolerable tutorial personalities, curious to model the person behind that amazing voice for us to learn and improve....100% I would love to model you just for the appreciation for a "Jedi" voice like that... You're the only female 3d artist i can listen to for more than a minute or two lol
Can the Cloth Brush be used for posing hair too? Can it put the hair in dynamic poses, such as when it’s a windy day & when the character is taking an action pose?
That’s because these videos were made a while ago with the Alpha versions, which feature a lot of experimental brushes, tools, etc. Blender is forever changing 😄
Huh. Have you made sure to merge all subdivision modifiers before sculpting, and kept the subdivisions on your object to a decent number? Obviously the higher the number of polygons, the more your PC is going to struggle. I've got an ancient PC, but it handles cloth sim quite well. Also, perhaps it might be the version of Blender you're using? There may be a big in the version that you're using. Try a more recent build. :)
Try turning down the playback speed in settings in order see exactly how they are doing things in the video, I do it a lot, really helps sometimes. I found this one nicely paced as they go, good clear explanations, though I have to agree, some tutorials are way too fast to follow.

POLYCOSM Slow down! Tutorial videos are for learning, so why do you make everything like 100mph?
@@1lllllllll1 i dont think so
Yay! A Blender tutorial presented by a woman! The cloth brush is now standard and is a wonderful tool! Thank you for this great tutorial!
The cloth brush is absolutely amazing! Thanks for your support, Elizabeth, and for the amazingly generous tip! 🥰❤️
Good to see people experimenting with this new feature not only just clothes but in different ways like skin like this!
Good video helped me learn more about cloth
Glad it was helpful, Carlos! 😄
This is great!
Thank you! Amazingly explained
Thanks, Irina! 😄 Glad you found it useful! :3
Thank you very much, your videos are very clear
You’re most welcome! Glad to hear you enjoy the content 😄
Heyy , thank you
You’re welcome! 😄
This explains why the brush always gave ugly resaults for me. thanks for the tips.
No problem, happy to be of help!
That thumbnail 😂
How do you get such big folds? When I use the brush the folds are tiny.

@@POLYCOSM Even on low it creates these tiny wrinkles. look like tiny lines like a paper rather than fabric
is there a way to annimate this ?

I think you can use other software like Marvelous Designer. Otherwise, the options are limited unfortunately.

A «Jedi» voice, now that’s a first! 🤣 Aww, I really appreciate it, Mike! Glad to hear I’m pleasant to listen to 😄😁

Anyone else looking at this and going "Can I use this to create terrain?"?
This is the 5th video now where the UI looks completely different to mine.

@@POLYCOSM ah, no it was my bad. I meant to change my comment. I was using the brush simulator but searching for cloth brush. D'oh
Ah, I see, haha! No worries, glad you figured it out ☺️

I have to say, these tutorials are too fast, why is every YT tutorial OBSESSED with speed???? Thumbs down from me.
I’m sorry you found the video to be too fast! We’ve slowed down our videos since these early QT videos. We’re still learning. ☺️
