    I don't know what's funnier, watching Chris Farley or watching David Spade desperately trying to hold it together watching Chris Farley.

    • @1vw4me
      @1vw4me 4 ปีที่แล้ว +157

      Fun Fact: The reason the kids "broke character" and were chucking so much, wasn't entirely because of Chris Foley's antics. No. To the left, Julia Sweeney had broken first, and was laughing hysterically. The cameraman even saw her start, and had panned her out of the shot entirely. If you look closely, you can catch glimpses of her going, and of David Spade watching HER break, not Chris Farley. It was a rare break she regrets to this day.

      The rest of the cast & guest hosts trying not to laugh makes these skits even funnier. Still miss Chris Farley. From every thing I've heard he was a sweetheart in real life who always had time for his fans. Just sad he couldn't beat his own demons. We could so use a little of his kindness & sense of humor right now !!

    Christina said recently on Spade's podcast that in rehearsal Chris didn't act anywhere near the way he did in the live skit. She said she couldn't believe what she was watching, said Chris was waaaaay over the top hysterical, which is why she and Spade couldn't stop laughing.

    Quick Story: When I was maybe 10 or 11, I went with my siblings and mom to McDonalds for lunch (in Toronto). We were sitting on the outside patio and a stretch limo pulls up. Who gets out but our man Chris Farley and a few body guards. Well everyone went absolutely mental and my friend's mom who was there asked him to do "Down by the River". As cringe-worthy as that seems now, Chris didn't hesitate and proceeded to perform the skit at a random ass McDonalds in Toronto. The entire place erupted in laughter and happy tears.

      What do you mean "fit in with the kids"?
      That's absolutely, and clearly, not what is happening.
      Since you didn't watch the sketch, I'll spell it out for you.
      Phil's character is a parent of two teens and found marijuana in their room. Instead of yelling at the kids, he took a less aggressive approach. Instead of being an enemy of his kids, he wanted to work WITH them. So, he hired a motivational speaker.
      He's not "trying to fit in the the kids". All he is doing is trying to not alienate himself from them.
      You shouldn't just spew out any idea that comes into your head. You should think about your thought for a second, see if it makes sense, then fix the mistakes...and THEN still don't share your idea. Keep it to yourself. It would be best if you didn't spread your ideas and opinions to anyone, as to not influence them into the same way of thinking.
      Cease and desist. We don't want your kind rubbing off on our children ANYMORE! Cease and desist!
