Its a pity that Iceland is EXPENSIVE. A simple fact, seeing that we are a little island in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean and most things have to be imported - at great cost. Fun fact: Icelandic salaries are high, so we locals do not really suffer too much. Another fun fact: Iceland being expensive means that everywhere else is INEXPENSIVE! For us Icelanders, traveling anywhere else seems dirt cheap. Norwegians (another expensive country) feel the same. No wonder we tend to travel a lot...
Very helpful information. Lobster soup and Rye bread ice cream look/sound like flavor bombs. I'm going in October. I'm hoping to see the Aurora Borealis. Question please: I'm disabled/can dependent. Did you notice if Reykjavik is handicapped friendly eg. escalators, wheelchair curbs etc. Many thanks. Best wishes on further food adventures.
The winter average is 0 °C (32 °F), and the summer average is 10-13 °C (50-55 °F). We wore light jackets and sweatshirts in the summer, with layers so that we could adjust throughout the day.

How much cost The can of vikings beer please
I hear the taxes and cost of living (accommodation, transportation, amenities) are expensive as well 😮

A city in Iceland
Nice but I'd rather watch an Iceland travel video made by locals who know the place better than you who are only visiting.
