I installed a Saddlemen Step Up seat on my 2022Harley Davidson Road Glide ST PART NUMBER: 808-07B-195 TOUR STEP UP LS FRONT & REAR FLHR, FLHT, FLHX & FLTR
Drop an end of a string (550 cord) from the top of the fender through the hole. Attach seat bolt by threading the string/cord through and tying a square knot. Pull seat bolt up through hole.
A piece of wire down from the top attach the nut to the wire and pull it up into place, push the wire back down or just clip it, takes less than a minute, zip tie works but you have to get it through the hole from the bottom,
I am surprised that a UTuber doesn’t use UTube to see the many other videos that show this same topic. Hey, but then it’d only be an honest two minute video eh? Have a great day Champ
bro, in the future if you ever need to do this again, run a longer zip tie through the middle of the screw. Then pull it up through the hole and it makes it a 30sec job. it was painful to watch the stuggle! lol good build so far!
Well Im a little late to the party. Its the grey stitching. Doesnt pop as much as i thought it would. Looks great though. I might try and match the stitching to the wheels like I did with the saddlemen logo. Thanks for watching. Cheers
Very ingenious workaround brother. Thanks for sharing. How do you like the seat after having it for a riding season or so? Break in period time? Are you still using it? How’s the passenger comfort? Sorry I send this message 2 minutes before you addressed my questions haha. Passenger comfort good tho?
I've since learned that you use a long zip tie to feed the nut into the hole. 🤣The seat is still very comfortable as far as passenger my wife hasn't been on yet. Cheers and thanks for watching.
I'm in the same seat situation. So are you saying just put the nuts back on the original bolts and throw the new seat on over top of them and that's alright?
I ordered my saddleman seat an the security seat set them clowns sold me the wrong bolt with the kit the stock bolt is 1/4x20x1 inch an the bolt with the kit is way bigger
Painfull watching the fender nut install, fish it in, people say zip tie, I like stiff wire, sit on the seat in the garage then tell me it’s great, how about at the end of a 500 mile day, it’s a touring seat,
Dude, the seat is solid. The furthest I've gone is 400 kinda had a hot spot but it was hot as F and super Humid. (swollen pig lips) I'm sure the Road Sofa would get you to where you need to be.
I usually use a long zip tie to help put in the seat nut from under the fender.
Brilliant. That makes a lot more sense. Hahaha
I also use a long piece of wire and tie the nut to it an pull it through, works like a dream!
Yep, zip tie or a cable feeder or some wire will do ...

Pull seat bolt up through hole.
it was painful to watch him doing it lmao....string 123 ....i usually tie a nut to the string an drop it out after install
Thank you for the great video from used sg st.

You can leave the original seat mount on. Just in case you ever want to run the solo seat
Damn dude! I was just thinking about the solo seat and now I don’t have the mounting hardware. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm in the same seat situation. So are you saying just put the nuts back on the original bolts and throw the new seat on over top of them and that's alright?
how is the height in between the legs I have the same bike and i'm happy with Stock seat height but want something more comfortable
Zip tie works on the fender screw bolt deal
Yeah what the heck was i thinking. LOL
I like the the original seat better 😊
Nothing wrong with the original seat. I will say this one rides a little more comfy though. Cheers
