- I installed a Saddlemen Step Up seat on my 2019 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special. This seat will fit any 2008 on up Harley Davidson Touring bike. I did an in-depth review on the seat. Great informative video. I am in the market for a new seat and have tried Mustang and Corbin but both are not built to what I need. I’ve got a 1999 Road King so I will definitely check this seat out. Good job!

Thanks for the review. Saved me some time and money. I'm looking with something with a higher, lower-back support. Currently using the stock backrest on my FLTRU. Looking now at the Saddleman Road Sofa.

I went with a similar Le Pera DL version. Put me back a few inches but felt like it raised me. Good look.

As you mentioned the seat does require a bit of a break in period. Once that break in is done it will typically relax about 1/4 of inch. Also remember you can try it before you buy it at any of our seat center locations. Thanks!

I would definitely check out the asr by ciro. Adam Sandoval has put a lot of miles on Harley’s and designed the seat to keep the ride height as low as possible, while being super comfortable. Has a relief cut in for your tail bone, the sides are shaved down so your legs can get closer together to help with reaching the ground better. Watch his video on it.

I got a mustang seat very happy with it

Good video. Im looking for a better seat for my Street Glide. I’m 5’9” and my inseam 31” so would this seat be ideal for my height? And did you notice the seat pushes you forward or back from the handlebars?
You should’ve just sent you stock seat to Meancitycycles and they could have done the same thing and lower you down and move you forward or back so you can be flat footed

I went with the Ultimate Big Boy...it drops you 2", also puts you back 1.5 from stock...just a thought.

try changing your bars. You will sit more upright and it may roll your hips forward and change quite a bit.

Way too high for me. I'm 5.7 as well. Gotta have control of the bike. I can't do that well, esp. in the city when I can't put my foot flush to the ground.
Did you ever get that other seat yet. I bough this seat and love it. I have a 19 streetglide special and it’s 100% better then the stock seat. But your correct it raises you probably 2”

Thank you for the review and very detailed explanation. I am on the market for a seat. With my boots, I can be flat footed on the stock seat, but when I put on sneakers like you did, then I start tippy toeing a little bit.

I waited months & months & months for Lucky Dave's to restock... Ended up buying a Corbin. Had them shave the sides so that I would be flat footed.

What kind of rubbing compound and polish did you use to restore the tanks form the stock seat rubbing?
I haven't wheeled my paint out from that yet, I still have rub marks..
I don’t know if you still review comments. I just installed my saddlemen seat on my Street glide. Did you remove the 2 screws that come through the fender to be able to put a solo seat on it? I can’t tell if they are making contact underneath, or if they will eventually rip the carpet underneath. Anyone who has an answer please shout out. Thanks

A hard seat is a comfortable seat
You should look at Thunder max air ride suspension in will raise and lower the bike depending on your speed so when you stop you can flat foot and when your riding fast its at max height. I don't mean to be rude but you are overstating the need to be flat footed when on a bike. You had the balls of your foot down which is totally acceptable to be able to support it.

Thats a sharp lookin bike though. I like those pipes. A lot. I might even order a set...I'm in the same position you are. I'm taller than you but I'm not very big and the stock seat is way to wide and puts my legs at a strange angle when I put my feet down an I mean its a heavy bike..theres a stop sign at the very crest of a hill near my house that mergs onto another road into a Y and somthing about that angle, or the high difference between one leg and another because I'm on such a slant but I've almost duffed it twice right there. 🙋♂️ Prolly looked like a monkey fucking a football to everyone driving by the other way 🤦♂️🤔
