They are, I think. The original was a huge part of my childhood and the remaster on switch gave me the most nostalgia I've ever felt. I have literally no problem with the loading times because I've seen longer times before.
Sega tends to half-ass or just plain mess-up ports. SADX, the GBA port, the sound mixing in every subsequent port of SA2 Battle. I think this will get patched (hopefully before I get to try it), but just the fact it keeps happening is just ugh.
@@littlefieryone2825 I read up about it and from what I’ve read, it looks that Sega had very little to do with the ports quality. Blind Squirrel’s work environment is apparently appalling, their executives giving unreasonable deadlines and poorly handing out tasks to unqualified people. Sega probably just struck bad luck hiring them as BS have been known to lie to clients.

The Position Tracker in Rival Rush with you in relation to the Start and End of the stage is Amazing. But with keeping track of Metal Sonic in relation to the start and end of the Level it's Horse Sh*t! Not kidding In the Asteroid Coaster Rival Rush, It told me he was Halfway and I was near the end and I could hear the Goal Ring nearby. BUT HE WAS RIGHT F*CKING NEXT TO ME! Not only that it's been like that since day 1! And 3 patches later and it's still like this. Like WOT?

That I can agree, not many people can create a video so easy, takes a lot of work and talented team.
also as a programer to be i can say, if you did not write the code, only god know what o how that work. you have to read, write, re write and see what effect have. and on some cases you have to translated to a totally different lenguage or system.
Unfortunately, it also takes playtesters with integrity to make. That's why I unironically respect Sonic Heroes. Glitches galore aside, they made sure the damn game was playable and not ultimately gamebreaking. Unlike this. And this was an already good, unbroken game so holy crap did they mess it up. I enjoyed colours. I don't understand the changes, and I don't understand the lack of prioritizing optimization for... Cometics that fail to mean anything to the game.
This game really would've benefited from being delayed till November. Idk why SEGA wanted it released in September, I know Sonic fans have been starved for a new game for a while but we could've waited.

The beginning heads-up says something like the following:
"Your experience may be different than others."
And I agree. My experience with Sonic Colors Ultimate was overall better than the original, although others' experience weren't as good as mine and that's okay. I hope that eventual patch makes the game a much more enjoyable experience for others.
I never played the original colors and, my experience with Ultimate on PS4 was honestly phenomenal. I love the visual, the soundtrack (remix and original), the levels, and the wisps. While they're some audio and and graphically bugs, they were so minor that I barely cared. It just sucks that because the game was rushed out (for the love of God SEGA, Stop Doing THAT!), people have a bad first impression on the remaster, which is greatly hurting its reputation. That patch seriously needs topic come out soon.

@@thebeyblademan2463 I like the game but isn't phenomenal since I already grinded it out during my youth. I beat colors ultimate the day it came out and unlocked Super sonic the next day. It was pretty enjoyable.

I played this on the Switch and my favorite part is the Nega Wisp Armor phase 2 remake
They really missed a good opportunity to incorporate some elements from the DS version.
Even Just the Super Sonic Final Boss would have been fine. I mean, they have the Model from TSR they could've used for it

They did do one thing, which was just change the design of the Final Boss to be closer to the DS design(note the eyes).

Now that I think about it, that would entail:
-Creating a "dark" Jade attack for the Nega Wisp
-Probably animating the Nega Wisp doing the attack
-Find a way to fit in the Jade graphic to the All-Wisp HUD image without squashing or cutting out the rest too much
-Adding Jade to the Wisps flying around Sonic and in the end attacking the Nega Wisp with its aura and everything

Edit: But, as you said, this still doesn't excuse them for releasing an unfinished product. They must have ensured quality in their game, especially in a remaster. SEGA have simply gotten more indolent with Sonic and they NEED to step it up.

I understand it's very difficult to make a game, especially reworking one you never made. Sega really shouldn't have released it at this time. The developers obviously needed more time and I'm really disappointed the game released the way it did. I missed the old days when the "we'll patch it later" mentally didn't exist. People pay their hard earned money for this. The least they could do is sell a quality product and not a buggy mess... I'm willing to wait longer if it means no bugs.

4:56 the reason why they have checkpoints in the game is because sometimes you might get killed by being crushed not just falling off the level, tails save can only save you from falling off the stage and the checkpoints send you back to your previous spot when you last past it.

I’m so happy that Sega made Colors Ultimate. The OG Colors was my very first Sonic game and getting to experience it again was a wonderful experience. And I actually didn’t encounter any bugs or glitches during my playthrough. Also….you….DO know that you can skip the credits with the + button, right?

WAIT, so I'm not the only one who struggled with that Terminal Velocity Act 1 Mini Boss. Gosh that's a relief. I thought I was doing it the wrong way, but it really is hard to see where he is going to hit with those lasers.
At least for me, he does render visible indicators. Just not as visible as they probably were on the wii.
Also, the miniboss is rubbish in a diffrent way. The best way to deal with him is to doublejump over everything he does, but nothing indicates that actually working.

I finished this game two days ago and... It's still really great. Although it's really glitchy like seriously I played the Wii version a few months ago and I didn't run into any glitches while here I ran into a lot of glitches, although I like what this remaster adds (admittedly partially because of the customisation since otherwise I think I would be more negative about the changes) if you don't count the change to the final boss design. Then i like everything it adds
8:05 Someone's probably already pointed this out, the graphic for the checkpoint bonus isn't misplace. The green graphic is to the left because Player 1 got the checkpoint and thus it was pointing more to your side.
If you were playing with someone else and they got the checkpoint, the graphic would then be on the right side and in their colour.

If you don’t know the language, there’s no way that this manner of speech depicted here actually helps, but it’s pretty helpful if you’ve only got a loose grasp on the language

I'll Admit The Big chaser in Terminal Velocity Act 1 Also had me there for ages like not kidding it took me as long as it would take to beat a Werehog level in Unleashed because of how much I kept dying to him on the Wii.
He wasn't as bad when I played the Remaster on my PS4 but still gave me crap. And as such Terminal Velocity Act 1 is my least favourite level in this game.
The big chaser was also annoying to me because on playstation 5 whenever i was boosting the screen was so bright i couldnt see which lane the lasers are coming from and also the lasers doesn't come out of the big chaser properly because you can see the lasers he fire go through him overall the laser is too bright for me to see.
When I was in terminal velocity the telegraph was blocked by those barriers, so that was fun

As someone who played this as a very young child (probably like 6) and never beat it, and then I came back 8 years later. I loved every second of it, and I haven’t picked this up. Hearing you say you loved it at 25 as much as 14 really meant a lot. I can’t wait to play this.

I love that you put the Sonic Movie Aura on Sonic in the Thumbnail! I loved using that in the game! Finally I could kinda sorta play as Movie Sonic in a Sonic Game! He looks so cool with the electricity, implied quill texture and glowing blue eyes!!!

7:33 and to think this is the writing we have had ever since the original release of Sonic Colors. Hope you all have enjoyed it and character assassinations that came with it cause any new writers are going to work HARD to fix it.
Either that or they retcon the entire decade to instead make the japanese scripts canon. They aren't particularly great either, but they damagecontrolled pretty well all things considered.
@@lpfan4491 I'll have to look those up, but I would not be surprised if they scrap the last decade from normal continuity considering everything after Colors was very "Monster(s) of the Week" type writing for the games with nothing really connecting. I do know the Wisp show up, but I've hated that those little bastards kept showing up after Colors.
This game needed more time in the oven. I know that’s the case with a lot of Sonic games, but it definitely applies most here, especially since there’s the glitch in the Switch version that potentially gives people seizures. Releasing this game in the state that it was in is downright inexcusable.
You would think after Sonic 06 that the higher ups at Sega would realize that rushing these games out the door is a bad idea, but here they are making the same mistakes again.
