    A tip with windshield wipers that won't go up because of the hood.
    Most if not all cars have a "service mode" to put the wipers in a up position, then allowing you to fold them back. To do this, start the car, turn it off, and hold either up or down on the wiper control for a few seconds. It's usually the direction you hit it for a single wipe of the blade

    Nice house! I use an old plastic squeegee that I used to use on the car just on the windows now. It soaks up lot of water on the windows. That way, more water is absorbed by the towel.

    Question for you Josh. What would you do in one of those drive through self wash places? I live in an apt complex and I don’t have access to a hose. I had an idea to get a cheap pump sprayer from Harbor Freight and either use ONR or Active Foam and spray my car down eighth before pulling into the bay to break dirt up and then rinse clean.

    • @imjoshv
      @imjoshv  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Im planning on doing a video on that soon! ONR and doing a rinseless or waterless would probably the best option for you at your complex

    For those cars that have the wipers under the hood, if u turn the wipers on and shut the car off while they are up u can lift them off the windshield.

    Just curious regarding the wipers. Why don't most detailers keep them in the raised position and instead just lift them when they pass through with the contact wash? Is it for safety purposes or just personal preference? Thanks for the video btw!

    Your energy is unmatched, how much caffeine do you consume daily? Are you a coffee or energy drink guy? When you talk its like your racing against yourself lol, they say I do the same thing but I don't notice when Im doing it. I do consume 5 hr energy's daily! hahahha But all jokes aside your the reason Im currently in the process of starting my own detailing business, Ive worked manual labor jobs all my life and the last 5 years I have been a grounds keeper for a big property and I do everything from landscaping to detailing all of there vehicles, my favorite thing to do at my job is the car detailing for sure, I hate the construction/repair work, I hate the landscaping, car wash day is my favorite day of the week, Im pretty good at it so I figured it would be perfect as my first business. Hope you make more videos on the business side of things bc I have never had to deal with the technical side of a business and Im all alone, Im single and I work alone as well.

    In a video you made around 2 years ago you suggested getting the UBERFLEX™ Kink Resistant Pressure Washer Hose 1/4 hose. It's rated at 3100 psi but my Westinghouse WPX3200 pressure washer is rated to do 3200 psi. Would that hose be ok to use? Thanks alot.

    You dont need a grit guard if youre not leaving the sponge sit in the bottom of the bucket. Fill with 4 gallons and use a sponge rinsing and squeezing out. Theres no need for 50 microfiber towels.

    I don't recommend just using a wash mitt and bucket like this with a garden hose. It is how I swirled the absolute living crap out of my cars paint. Only use a pressure washer now.. Sure it's a pain to get out everytime, but keeps the swirls away

    Those style wipers annoy me lol, who thought that was a good design? I wanna have a talk with that guy bc everyone has decided to copy that under the hood design, almost all newer cars and suv's are designed that way. Its stupid, lol why is hiding the wipers even necessary? Im guessing they did it for looks and so ppl can't steal your wiper blades maybe? Idk but its dumb.
