- Helmet cam combat footage from Afghanistan shows US Soldiers in a heavy firefight with Taliban fighters before the fight was ended by a KIOWA helicopter strike.
Scenes filmed from the mounted helmet cam from one the of soldiers shows US troops engaging the Taliban fighters with small arms, grenades and rocket launchers before a Kiowa helicopter arrives to assist them.
The video is old for sure and was posted on LiveLeak many places before but still we did not find the original source to link here.
Once we do that we will update this description.

I was in Afghanistan in 2012 in 82nd Airborne. The first time I got shot at was my birthday, I requested a 500lb JDAM and got it. 😂

Sure. Depending on the terrain. There’s lots of places in Afghanistan where the fights are so close that long range precision fires and IDF assets are essentially useless.
The way they stand so calmly in the open astonishes me. I can't imagine willingly doing this as my job.

Am I wrong but would it be advantageous for one of the guys to have an THERMAL scope to be able to see where the enemy is on the other side of the field? Or is it too hot there to use one where you could really make out anything? I just never see this used during the day in the scenarios.
If thermal scopes aren't used then it must be for a reason, I assume they aren't issued with them

In all honesty, it's purely a political loss. The guys with better training (or any training at all!) and better gear would ROFLstomp any insurgency in all-out conventional warfare. Look at the early invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, we wiped the floor with Saddam's army. Once it breaks down into guerrilla warfare and bad politics, you end up with the Vietnam-style Forever War situation where the only way to win is to have already left a long time ago.
@@lynxbelow6922 unfortunately that is guerrilla war for you. The enemy have no rules and can do whatever they want, know the terrain, have safe havens and have local support. Coalition forces have to follow guidelines and fight with 2 arms tied behind their back.

Taking into account Coalition war crimes, Iraqi Army crimes (to a far lesser extent, the Afghan security as well), and insurgency actions, you're looking at something above the measure of 200,000 civilian deaths. Before you balk at that figure, remember that multiple parties all took a hand in it over the course of two decades. I haven't found the exact number of all casualties directly the result of Coalition forces, but I'm sure it's out there if you do some digging and little light maths.

This ain’t a heavy fire fight.. a heavy fight is being on a low end mountain getting hit from the high ground by multiple positions in the K valley for 11 hours.. but this is good they have really good cover and decent positioning

Helmet cams are regularly recording in lower resolution which is further corrupted via uploads, copy/sharing, etc. Combine that with the fact that the taliban generally is too afraid to engage a US Army rifle company at closer than a few hundred meters, and the fisheye camera effect making the FOV even further distorted, it's rare to see enemies up close. The videos that do include up-close engagement are not posted on TH-cam but they exist.

Есть такое понятие, это огонь на подавление. Ценность жизни в их армии огромная, а патроны ничто, еще привезут. Никто не побежит с криками "ураа" в чистом поле на врага. Его закидают всем чем только можно, и если противник продолжит огрызаться и не подпускать к себе, на помощь придет тяжелая артиллерия и даст пизды всему живому. Ну и на камеру тяжело разобрать и кажется что стреляют лишь бы стрелять. По факту же, они знают откуда идет огонь и туда идет огонь на подавление.

It seems like many of these battle videos the Americans do a lot of misc shooting and I rarely if at all see return fire I feel like Americans waste ammo...and do not have a clear chain of command ..it seems there more confusion on the field time and time again as well as the potential of friendly fire seems grossly exaggerated...

This is the second vid where I see a trooper having difficulty deploying that telescoping bazooka. As far as I'm concerned, that's a major design flaw and whoever makes that thing should be working day and night to fix that problem. Troopers can't be struggling for several minutes to get those weapons ready to fire.
It's called an AT4. Before criticizing the design of a weapon, how about doing some research, like what it's name is? You seriously have no clue what you are talking about. LAW's, and AT4's have been used for decades. You're literally complainging about something you don't even know the name of, after only seeing two videos. Imagine the nerve.
A weapon design for destroying tank and other armour vehicles... Yes, the rocket itself is quite good at its range, charging is commplex and time consuming than an old bazooka... Its required some training to make it fast
