- Stephenie and Chase Watts, interior designers and founders of a boutique stay collection, take us on a tour of their historic home on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
For more extraordinary home tours, visit our website: homeworthy.com/
After an unexpected twist of fate, highschool sweethearts Chase and Stephenie Watts found themselves completely captivated by the magic of this historic home on Cape Cod. Built in the 1600’s, the home was once a Quaker meeting place before transforming into a classic three-quarter cape in the 1800’s. Since then, it has been beautifully restored to echo the classic style that resonates with the Watt’s sophisticated taste. It not only serves as their family home, but also as the muse that ignited their passion for design and boutique stays in historic settings.
Inside you’ll find the authentic beauty of the original black and white checkered floors, a nod to the historical significance of this dwelling. The couple's keen eye for detail is evident in their curated collection of antique books, coastal-inspired coral, and shells - each piece sourced from Facebook marketplace, local antique shops, or quaint bookstores. As lovers of all things classic and timeless, Stephenie and Chase share their favorite renovation tips and tricks, revealing the secret behind their success in preserving and restoring historic homes. The Watts family graciously opens the doors to their American Traditional-inspired haven, offering a glimpse into the heart of Cape Cod's rich history and the couple's unwavering dedication to sharing the beauty of historic homes with the world. Enjoy!

"Do you want to know what the secret is? I'll tell you the secret." Uh, I think I know the secret. Beautiful house!
Haha!
This is a vacation home rental? I wish they had said that off the top.
Everyone knows but nobody’s saying it lmfaooooooooooooooooooooo😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂 I’ve noticed this in several episodes! Haha
I have questions.
Yep.
Are they really married?? 😂
They are from Utah. It's a thing. Trust me. You see it a lot.
We all have the answers
Hmmm 😂 same
I have mixed emotions about this video and the beautiful home it showcases. There’s a dearth of needed homes in this size range for families to purchase and to learn halfway through the video that this home was bought for the purpose of a business instead of a local family being able to purchase it, was deflating at best. I’m sure the home has tripled in cost over those 3 years since purchased further complicating the ability of locals to buy a home there.
There’s no doubt they’ve created a beautiful and cozy house, but it leaves me with a sense of sadness knowing the locals are priced out because of so many out of town people buying second homes+ in areas like this over the last 3 years. It’s not endemic to Cape Cod since other tourist destinations like this around the country are also suffering this. Was just disappointed to learn this halfway through the video.
Yay! A Cape house! This one is darling! I grew up in a MA town founded in 1635 and have family on the Cape now. I love the charm of those slanting floors, tilted walls, and narrow staircases that go almost straight up like a ladder. And I'm a sucker for a weathered cedar shingle exterior with hydrangeas in the garden. That living room gallery wall is fabulous.
Thank you so much! I am also a sucker for cedar shingle exterior. 🤍
I was waiting for one of them to describe the slanting floor as “listing.” 🌊 😉
@@GiovannaC266You know you're in an old New England home when you have to gimble everything like you're on a ship. 😅
Very nice to see something different than the usual. Lovely home.
I see why this sweet couple fell in love with this home! It is charming! They did a great job decorating it. Very warm and inviting!❤
I love this couple, truly in love soulmates. And what they’ve done with their historic home is so charming, beautiful & thoughtfully decorated. Love everything about it.♥️
Thank you so much! Truly. 🤍
I thoroughly enjoyed your company and "togetherness"
You certainly do compliment each other well. I think it's a rare gift sometimes when one person respects the other's gifts and strengths. You've both shown the results of what makes a home simmer with love and light.❤ thanks for sharing.
Thank you! This means so much to us. 💫
What a great couple that are so in-tune to each other and they are really great at explaining their style and can really feel their passion for restoring these old homes. Loved this tour as it was a home with much much much more character and charm than the normal home tours. We need more of these type of home tours!
I agree that this episode was fantastic - because this couple is charming, cohesive, aligned, engaging, entertaining, & extremely well matched!! They were as equally enjoyable as was viewing their beautifully decorated home!! It looks like a nice stylish family home that is absolutely lived in & loved by its family & all their guest! They did a fabulous job!! Thank you to them & to Home Worthy!
Loved this episode Stephanie & Chase are some of the most talented people I have every met. They are true visionaries and two of the kindest people I've met who I'm so glad I get to call friends. I love how this episode gives a peak into their world and the beauty they create and share with so many people!
Totally agree!
Is it common for straight men to be cheerleaders and I'm honestly asking based on what I've seen as a non American and not trying to imply anything.
What a delightful tour of this old, historic home which tells a story... Love the commentary and story telling. Home is where the heart ❤️ is and this couple has done a really great job of showcasing their pride and joy! There's a handful of episodes I enjoy watching and this is definitely an addition to that list! 🥰
You can feel how much they love their gorgeous home! ❤❤❤
It isn't their "home". It is an Airbnb
@@sharoncurtis7790it’s both when it’s not rented
Your pride in your dream home is obvious. It is charming! As a former history teacher, I share your passion for historic properties. The exterior setting is gorgeous. I enjoyed your tour very much. Hope you have many years to enjoy your home.
As soon as you said you weren't allowed to date I thought Utah. I live in AZ. If you know, you know. Wink wink. Love the house. My first house was a Cape Cod in the Town Poughkeepsie NY. I miss the East badly after 31 yrs away.
?
I love this beautiful family. This man and wife love each other. 😊
🤍🤍🤍
I appreciate their energy and enthusiasm and the care they put into this lovely home but this episode really needed to be better edited. Agree with others that this felt too much like a sales presentation/advertisement for them (so so much about them) and their business. Seemed heavy on the shelter magazine verbiage and overused platitudes so I couldn’t get through the whole thing.
That’s what homeworthy is about though! People and their stories. This is their business and part of their story? What happened to people supporting each others businesses? Everyone is so bent out of shape that that they are showing us their boutique stay/ part time home but why can’t we just be happy for people now a days instead criticizing them?
Homeworthy obviously had them on here for a reason and directed them to share the things they shared!
Love the home and couple. However, recent videos are focused more on interviewing the homeowner instead of just having them chat while showing the home. Makes for a very long video that I found myself skipping through.
Im sorry but i think hes in denial or she is? The house is beautiful though x
Denial over what? Sorry , just curious
Ohhhhh, I think I get it 🌈
What a cruel comment that didn’t need to be made
This is the couple you would to have as neighbors.
What a doll house!...and that checkered hallway floor! 😍
This felt like a commercial for their Airbnb business.
My thoughts exactly!!
@@willem4190 They sound like two overly eager car salesmen.
@@slucas6303 yes this... i couldn’t figure out why I was so turned off! This channel needs to read alllll comments. It’s a common occurrence each episode
It worked! Just booked their house for an upcoming trip. 😂
I didn’t feel that way at all. That was just sharing their passion for restoring and creating homes. I love their energy and they’re so sympatico
Finally! A wonderful couple who love the oldness of a place and have kept it true to its original plan. I love the cracks in the paint on the staircase, the worn black and white tiles, and the Federal mirror...so much loveliness to this home! It makes me want to go and read Nightbirds on Nantucket again! ❤
But, after visiting their design website, I am confused as to why this video presents them as having found their dream home, but yet it is listed on Air BNB for $400+ a night. I am not sure how that would work with living in the house. So, it seems to me like they are buying content real estate to renovate and rent out.
They use so many words to describe what essentially is their business and income: acquiring content spaces for rental purposes under the niche of specifically crafted historic buildings.
Beautifully decorated home, but one presenter would be more than enough.
Absolutely!
Lovely home. I Met my former husband on the cape. So much history…I was known as a ‘’wash a shore”! Mother in law lived in Chatham and I learned to love antiques from her and this historic this area…thank you for bringing back happy memories…enjoy!
They remind me more of brother and sister but I do see lots of beautiful elements of the house
Completely delightful young couple. They have done wonders with this home.
I love your style. You did a great job creating your home!
…..you two are also an amazing couple, so happy you have each other!
What a beautiful home. So cozy and comfortable with incredible history. The house is so lucky to have found the two of you as the new caretakers. Thank you so much for sharing.
My favorite thing is the way they hung the picture under the horseshoe crab.....off center and over lapping the brick. When you step back and look at the display as a whole it reads like an abstract painting. Very eye catching🙂
ok an airbnb
I love antique, very old quirky homes! They did a great job in keeping the wonderful character of the house..with all the quirks, which makes it special. What a beautiful area with the ponds and historical homes. I'm so glad that walls weren't torn down for "open concept", which too many people do to old homes....and they had respect for the integrity of the age of the house. The decor is perfect, too. The little antique desk in the nook fits perfectly in the living room. It's very charming. I love it.
I really enjoy watching Homeworthy videos especially the videos about small apartments. Love them!! On the other hand, the talking or explaining of every little thing, not much.
That’s what Homeworthy is all about. The whole point is hearing the stories.
the sculpture made for you reminds me of a pie crust layed on the baking pan before adding filling! Love your home!
Love that! I thought it was a linen handkerchief! This is my dream home!
“…linen handkerchief…” I had the same thought; it’s a lovely, organic piece open to interpretation. I believe that’s called “art.”
Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely.
Omg I have see many houses but you guys have a beautiful home with a lot of love !!
I loved this.... and you two made me look around and fall in love with my place again! A 1951 brick warehouse building built into a hill. It has been such a challenge....and a joy. May many more happy homes come to you! Thank you for sharing your lovely concept of home with others.
Okay, this is my favorite Homeworthy tour, because I fell in love with this adorable couple! I love their philosophy on what makes a home and especially on decorating with what makes YOU happy. I don't decorate on trends, just with what I have collected over the years, that I love. I live in Connecticut and would love to see their home here also! ❤
I view for the house not the back story ,fast forwarded most too
I remember this couple and beautiful home from Diary of an Old Home. Okay, I think it was them anyway. Absolutely love their Cape Cod.
She hardly lets him say a sentence without interrupting him. I'd go mad.
This is a great episode and you guys are so cute together. I love your home, your decorating, your ideas, and especially your energy in working TOGETHER! Thank you for sharing a part of your world with us.
I love this! I was born in Massachusetts and we moved to the Midwest but always went back every summer to the Cape. My parents live there now. My dream is to move there but I don’t know if that will ever happen. I’m so glad this couple took the opportunity and made their move.
Great story! Precious couple!🥰
I love this beautiful cozy Cape Cod house! Great job at decorating this house.
Precious couple and a home to match. Enjoy that special place you two!
What a wonderful couple and beautifully inspiring home! I love the intention of giving others a charming place to vacation and be and the deep appreciation for history and tradition.
Can't wait to see their other homes
I’ve always admired your home and the beautiful gardens and historic area you live in! You live in the prettiest town on Cape Cod!
What an adorable couple in a beautiful home. Living the dream!!
Love this house and this couple! Their definition of decor and home is spot on and really resinated with me.
What a beautiful family! Nice home too! Thanks for sharing
You all are a blessing, God Bless you and your family, what a beautiful story, beautiful home 🏡 ❤ 😇
So this is an Air B&B? Explains why the holiday decor was less personalized than most. I ❤ this channel but this episode felt a little inauthentic.
You could have skipped this snarky comment.
It sounds like they stay there in the winter & summer then they stay at other homes during other parts of the year. Their home is beautiful with so many personal touches and lots of care. They and their home seem very authentic to me. Granted they don’t have 10 trees that are 20 feet tall with Santa’s & elves strewn around but their Christmas decor seems fitting to the size and history of their home. In my OPINION. Seems like the vast majority of people agree. Or maybe those that don’t agree just decided it was a matter of taste and they didn’t need to share, they just kept the thought to themselves.
@@sjp4u338 And you could have skipped yours as well but I see we both shared what we felt.
These people aren't even from MA. Ugh. Cape cod is not off the coast of Massachusetts. Totally inauthentic. These folks are the reason why rents in Massachusetts have skyrocketed.
Lovely couple, but I’ve just realised it’s not their home , so a little inauthentic, but good advertising for their business , it is lovely
What a lovely couple. Love this home.
Love this Cape and such a wonderful couple
So in love with this home and this couple's passion.
Beautiful home, story and family.
Darling couple living the dream. The cape is amazing all my East Coast relatives are there.. So cozy and fantastic place and wonderful people! ❤
So much personality to this home 🌿🍃
A wonderful family. Thanks!
I have followed Stephenie and Chase on IG so I was so excited to see this tour. Not only is the home quintessential Cape Cod and beautifully decorated, but I love S & C's enery, design approach, love for home and family. ❤ I hope we'll see Dove Hollow in the future. 😉
So happy that you are living your dream NOW. We only have the moment💙. Great storytellers.
Such a gorgeous home- seem like such lovely intentional people. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤
What a wonderful couple ! Bless them 🙏🏻
Oh My Goodness!!!I love your home ,what a fairytale setting, thanks for sharing♥️
Hands down, my favorite couple on your channel.
Beautiful home! I love how you furnished with antique finds! I also love how you used solenite for the fireplace logs!
The sweetest family and home!❤
Cool!!
Great family vibes!
Beautiful home!
Stephenie & Chase thank you very much , to sharing your beautiful home a Cape Cod , I love sou much . Thank you Homeworthy to bring all of us to this gorgeous home❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful house. I enjoy that you’re a team, and while you’re aware of the “rules,” you still apply your instincts and common sense (“high/low” budgeting). Thanks for sharing, and keep on having fun!
I had the same exact feelings!
WoW! Absolute PERFECTION!
Adorable couple! The home is so cozy and the love that poured into this home is apparent. Please share their home in CT too!
Beautiful home. The Cape is a special place made up of 15 towns. Each town gives unique experience.
God i love the details and how each piece is a traveling story from Marketplace, antique stores, and a local/community store it has souls [happy souls] attached to the furniture, that found this family.
❤❤❤ thanks for sharing, much love from NJ 😊
Thank you for sharing your lovely and sturdy little cape cod home. You have chosen a great area and I can tell your family appreciates everything. I loved the ornaments Stephanie was making with her children who are so adorable. Best of luck to you as you continue on your sweet and loving family path. I also live in a historic house on cape cod and it is wonderful. 🌲Merry Christmas and blessings for the new year.
Stunning!
Definitely in keeping with the location I would say. Nicely done.
Those tiles above the fire place are old dutch 'Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum' tiles. That's company is more than 300 years old. Really beautiful!
Fantastic tour. I have seen these folks and this house on Insta and really enjoyed getting to tour the house with them. They are the sweetest couple!!!!
I love the kitchen 💚
Gorgeous! ❤ Truly a great design team! I agree about what home means!
I love tales of kismet - things or people. Sweet team - wiser, richer than their empirical years, *wonderful physical home - full of conscious, tasteful things and textures. Realized life . Thank you very much to Stephenie and Chase. Merriest Christmas.
Thank you for your kind words! Happy Holidays to you!
Love Love their Home ❤
