    This is totally not going to sit well with a lot of people but I know for myself it does seem to have some merit. I have experimented with this numerous times and I see a strong pattern. For those who can’t seem to figure out the mystery with their being short of breath and feeling tired and weak....try disengaging from your cellphone for at least 10-14 days. Minimal use just for emails and quick texts only. Now, it could be that I develop a different pattern of breathing when I’m on my cellular phone for long periods and often I will engage in material that is anxiety producing so it could be that...or, the radiation/EMF’s might have some type of impact on our hemoglobin and it’s having a disruptive effect on our blood cells and perhaps not enough oxygen is getting into the blood cells and inflammation is present. I really want to try and do a long trial like 3-4 months to see if I experience significant improvement. Maybe my theory is bogus but I am really sick of feeling so shitty all the time and like I’m 90 years old.

      I noticed I can walk about 120 steps if moving straight forward at a comfortable pace, but if my cell phone is on me and I'm talking to someone, I can only take about 15 steps before I get winded. I have a lot of health issues. atherosclerotic, copd, scarring in lungs, obesity, smoker for 49 years, low thyroid, massive ventral hernia, hepatomegally, premature atrophic left kidney, venous sstasis, GERD, etc. I take those 120 steps to the mailbox and back several times a day but I never rebuild my strength and my glutes utterly fail me the same time my lungs do. I make it to my table and can't get back up for quite some time. You're right, though. I can only take 15 if on the phone talking, so it is not advisable to multitask for me, anyway, while walking. All that jabber depletes muscles and lungs. Heart rate was 115 just today but my pulse ox said my blood oxygen was good. Just from walking for less than a minute.

      Sounds like OCD/anxiety. The fixations change over time. Generalized Anxiety and OCD often go hand in hand and it can feel like you are dying. Trouble shoot by taking a mild tranquilizer just to see if the ruminating settles down a bit. Have you suffered from OCD with tiger things?

      @Shyamkumar Khangembam how long have you been experiencing this for? My mother had a spell like thus many years ago. She was under so much stress and began to experience a big lump in her throat. She was convinced she had throat cancer. Under investigation it was nothing and apparently she was experiencing upper esophageal irritation from having reflux of acid. Try using an acid neutralizing agent for a month, sleep with a wedge to keep your body elevated and avoid eating for two hours before bedtime to trouble shoot and see if there is any improvement.

    • @madeinhisimage3447
      @madeinhisimage3447 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Shyamkumar Khangembam try the baking soda in a glass of water and eat foods in accordance with your Ayurvedic principles to settle the stomach. My guess is it’s gastric. Try not to worry because this will exacerbate the condition and if you have irritation of the esophagus from acids it will take longer to get it under control. Consume more plant based digestive enzymes also if you can and yogurt in the evening to replace any health gut flora that might’ve been destroyed with antibiotics you might have taken.

    I am so glad i found this site, because even tho the doctor 👨‍⚕️ is not describing my problem, there are people making comments that pinpoint just what i have. It is as if i have a “hill” in my chest that my in-breath has to get up and over in order to feel like I inhaled a satisfying breath. Sometimes I make it up and over; other times i almost reach the top, but fail. Other times i barely can get started. Sometimes i get a running start, and that can sometimes get me up and over.
    Yawning sometimes gets me over the hill.
    The problem started when i was about 7. It would last a day or two, and then disappear for months. Over the years the time it lasted became worse, till now it is constant when i am awake.
    When I become unaware of the problem, my breathing is fine.
    I have the problem sometimes when i lie down to sleep, but i am always able to fall asleep.
    Most of the time it is there when i awake.
    I have been combing the internet, trying to find videos in which the maker of the video recognizes the problem, and offers a solution.

    Ive smoked cigs 40 years and it certainly has short winded my physical stamina.
    However ive refinished automobiles in facilitys with out adequte ventilation most of my life and this has by far damaged my hear and lungs far more seriously than cigeretts.
    Ironicaly i find that my sudden eposodes of breathless are not helped my inhaler, but a puff or three on a cigerrett seems to have a calming effect that allows me to relaxe and recover from the contraction limiting my ability to breath normaly.
    I know i have congestive heart failure copd pad and arteriosclerosis so i wont be with this world much longer.

    Can tapering off of certain medications cause central nervous system irregularities? I’ve been doing a micro taper of Nardil (MAOI) for a couple years now and ever since I started this taper I am experiencing attacks of extreme malaise, weakness, fatigue and BREATHLESSNESS. I feel like I am dying and have been to the ER 7 times in the last 16 months. Laying down is much worse than standing. And I often wake up and my legs and knees are totally numb. I’m scared so this is adding anxiety panic symptoms on top of it. I’m 45 a former smoker and hairstylist for 24 years.

    I can relate to you all. I am short of breath and it all started 9 months ago. Seen a pulmologist, cardiolist, and some many trips to the PC. Lungs are fine, they did all kinds of test my lungs check out good. I do have AFIB but only occasionally after much study and research I don't think its my heart causing it but it could be.
    The labored breathing is such a mystery I can't figure it out. I am fit I walk miles every day and not out of breath. I had a stress test done (2 hours) on the treadmill everything was near perfect.
    Even now as I type when I take a deep breath every 2 or 3 breaths dont' seem to fill the lungs but I can breathe. It is so strange to try to find the cause.
    Could be plain ole anxiety. I lost my wife 5 years ago and my son 3 years ago lots of stress and the pros say stress is aculmulative it never leaves you you just manage it throughout your lifetime.
    I deep breathe this sometimes helps. Its like something in either my gut or diaphram is causing it. Still looking for answers. The docs don't know what it is, they just tell me what it IS NOT..more or less.
    My minerals I take daily I have a great diet I walk I do all the things you are supposed to do. I many never find out but I will not stop trying.

Don't underestimate stress it can cause terrible effects on ones body, you sound like you take care of yourself and exercise regularly so you could try meditation 10 to 20 minutes a day, I have been meditating for 2 years every morning 20 to 30 minutes and it's been honestly miraculous what it's done for me. Anyone have a clue with what’s wrong with me? Around 5 or more months ago I discovered I have a whistle sound that happens when I exhale on certain situation . The situations vary so much that it would take forever to explain but to keep it short it sometimes when I inhale deeply and I mean forcefully inhale then exhale I’ll hear it or if I’m resting then switch to exercising mildly I’ll sometimes will hear it on exhale . What’s odd is that when I go for a run The whistle goes away temporarily.
    I’ve also noticed when laying on my back I feel very mild breathlessness and when I’m in my house/room I feel somewhat short of breath which I think is anxiety since I’ve been super anxious about whatever this is and when I leave my house and go somewhere I don’t feel breathless . I can’t go to the doctor for a reason that I’d like to not discuss.
    I also keep fixating about it

    I have a pounding heart with sharp pains and sometimes palpitations. It happens really frequently even when I'm not stressed or anxious. It happens after small amount of physical exertion such as tying my shoes. I also out of nowhere have exaggerated inhaling. I can't go to the doctor because my mom thinks it's just stress. Even if it is stress (which I don't think it is) it's best to be safe than sorry. I used to have asthma when I was little so you would think my mom would be more concerned.😥

    I’ve been having constant breathlessness or shortness of breath for almost 4 months. I also have this feeling of trapped air and needing to burp constantly and sometimes I throw up in my mouth. I have to clear my throat and cough a lot. I get this sensation of trapped air in my neck and under my chin. I’ve gotten dry mouth and super thick saliva it was like clear mucus. I think I might have acid reflux but I only ever gotten heart burn once and it was the first week I started feeling these symptoms. I started eating better and nothing is changing. Then I thought I had asthma or my acid reflux/Gerd is causing asthma idk I read that they can be connected. I’m so scared to go to the hospital especially now with corona and especially cause I feel like I won’t be a priority and they will just send me off saying it’s anxiety and give me some meds I don’t even need. Or do super scary testing and stick things where they don’t belong. I’m extremely squeamish and don’t handle pain well at all. This is literally causing me depression I cry almost everyday. It’s so hard to fall asleep too and have even gotten sleep paralysis twice. In the beginning this really messed with my mind and caused my heart rate to sky rocket I honestly thought I’d have a heart attack at 18. Now I know that was actually anxiety but I don’t think what I have is anxiety anymore. I feel like I’m dying slowly and nobody can help me

    Hello I think you need to add to your video that if at rest the sensation is worse and if at exertion it is better then it is probably pseudo dyspnea as a result of either acid reflux disease or yes, anxiety.
    If acid reflux, continual reflux (silent reflux) can damage the nerve in the esophagus and result in false signals being sent to the brain resulting in the breathlessness. Treat the reflux allows the nerve / esophagus to heal and the patients symptoms go away rapidly. Suggest this because it happened / is happening to me and after a week on omeprazole I feel 80% better and hope to make a full recovery now I know it was not anxiety or another alarming problem.

    • @nancyj795
      @nancyj795 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely: LPR (so-called "silent reflux") causes chronic breathlessness. Often times just treating the reflux with simple drugs like famotidine will cause the breathlessness to improve almost immediately.

    What about sleep apnea and acid reflux. I tend to have a hard time taking a deep breath. when i wake up after 2-3 hours with the cpap mask i cannot refall asleep cause breathing is a bit uncomfortable.
    So t his gives me insomnia. When i lay down breathing is worst.
    Throught the day too i have sometimes an issue being able to get a satisfactory deep breath. Some its satisfactory but some i feel like a limit and then the need to breath again. Chronic now this 2 years.
    I do a have a small belly though. Can it be too much caffeine too like 4-5 cups a day ? I did lung and heart tests 2 years ago and found nothing. Normal. I think when rarely i sleep 4-5 hours with cpap mask
    my normal breathing returns.
    Whats your take ?

    • @TopDoctorsUK
      @TopDoctorsUK  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dear Nick,
      If you are having problems with your sleep apnoea, we would say you should consult your doctor as they may be able to offer you a solution. In terms of caffeine intake, having 4 or more cups a day of a caffeinate drink, the Mayo Clinic considers that on the higher end of how much you should be drinking. Perhaps cutting down on caffeine could help you sleep better, however, it is always best to ask your doctor.
      Best wishes

    what if your shortness of breath goes away when you workout, walk, or eat. Meaning I feel better after i workout and eat. I have had asthma all my life and take Advair and it works great but I find i am shortness of breath when i am relaxed. I have had this for like 5 years and the doctor thinks its anxiety, i also find it worse when the weather changes and gets very humid. Saying that when i workout even on a bad day i feel better. The doctor did a CT scan and EKG and they are normal. I workout 5 days a week and feel great most after I work out. It is when i am relaxed.Saying that i can do a 20mile bike ride and i feel great...so crazy.

    If anyone can relate lmk cuz I feel like I’m going mad. Had this about 2 years now around once or twice a month it’ll happen randomly. I am obviously breathing and I know I am I can kinda feel it, but at the same time it’s like when you have that feeling you need to cough at the back of your throat, but like really bad and it feels like I’m being chocked or something. But I know I’m breathing, it just makes me feel like I’m not and it gives me this aweful feeling that I have like 5 minutes straight then it fades. It’s weird I went to the doctors they said nothing but maybe anxiety. But it doesn’t seem like anxiety so I don’t think so. It’s not related to anything to do with my emotions it just happens randomly.

Crazy you should say that because I’m sitting in the exact same spot where this happened to me a year and a half ago and I’m rarely ever here!! Yes! I ate a bag and not even a couple hours later I felt my throat closing in on me, I couldn’t swallow well or breath and my arms became painfully tingly and went to ER. They told me I was having a hypertensive crisis and gave me something to counteract it. Dangerous!!!

    • @ashdev862
      @ashdev862 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ive had the same yawning problem for like 15 yrs. It sucks cause it's gotten in the way of so many things. So recently I started looking up videos on breathing techniques and I came across VCD Vocal Cord Disfunction. It's often mistaken for asthma but the thing is that your larynx closes up while you're trying to breathe in, so that's what causes you to have a tightening in your throat and chest. Although I did see in some of the videos that it is possible to have both asthma and VCD. But to be sure what it is you really have it says to see a pulmonologist to rule out asthma and have allergy test done also.
      You should really look it up. I honestly cried when I found out there was such thing and that Im not the only one going through it.

      @@Emmaimmed I think the issue is sometimes mental. I notice when I’m occupied I never have to think twice about breathing. However when my doctors check oxygen at yearly physicals or I’m bored and have nothing to think about, breathing becomes voluntary and yawning becomes necessary. I feel like a common misconception is that your lungs are communicating to your brain that they can’t breathe but a lot of times, it can be the other way around. Training my mind has helped me but if it’s chronic then you should definitely seek a medical professional
