    Looks interesting BUT I have been running my own modified 24" sand filters ×2 on 3000 gallon conservatory pond for about 10 years and the k1 is moving both units run on 8000 superfish pump also run nexus 200 and it works

      I agree Wayne, it’s hardly new technology, iv run bead filters for years and to be honest find the beads a better than K1 micro for filtration and biological purposes.

      Struggling to see what’s new, but I suppose the small one would do a much better job than the tempest! Agree on the beads rather than K1.

    Looks like another quality product but it's just a shame they don't have a working telephone or email system where they reply to customer problems or issues. Very frustrating.

    Can we use gravity fed to the bead instead of pump fed?

    • @TimWaddington
      @TimWaddington  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the bead you can place the pump after and suck from it, so yes it can be used for gravity. Exactly like the one we fitted on our new pond.

    Wondering if you could answer me a question thinking of getting one of these but I’ve run my pipework in 1 1/2 inch on the website it says it must be 2 inch direct from the filter to the pond will it cause any issues having three 1 1/2 inch inlets or do I to change the whole thing to 2 inch

    • @TimWaddington
      @TimWaddington  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It won’t make that much difference. The 20” model is on 1.5”. Obviously nicer to have 2” but not a deal breaker

      Or… EA were filming too so I couldn’t film everything. 🤷‍♂️

  • @rich81090
    @rich81090 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would definitely put a bypass kit on it, I guess EA haven’t done one yet though. Less pressure on the pump. For me it’s all about if k1 does a better job than actual beads, so could do with a normal bead for comparison. I was always told to use a sieve or something similar before a bead so be interesting to see if that’s an issue or not. Hopefully EA do a auto version at some point like the easy pods.

    • @TimWaddington
      @TimWaddington  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      An automatic bead would be great. Just can’t see it with the air release.

    • @rich81090
      @rich81090 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TimWaddington wouldn’t it be a similar mechanism attached to the multi port valve as what they already use on nexus?

    • @TimWaddington
      @TimWaddington  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rich81090 the automation would be easy but there is a air release valve on top of the actual bead. That’s the stumbling block, but mate, they have some clever people up there

      @@TimWaddington Automatic air release valves are common in industrial tank installations. I've installed many at work on boilers, high points in building pipe work, and many other locations. Cheap and automatically releases air.
