    Definitely the Sollar Panels are a good shout.
    I plan on using Solar Panels on my future Pond, yet that might change.
    However, I would recommend that as it will be 💯% energy sufficient. 👍🙂❤️

    Great to see you dispelling this myth that flukes are brought in to the pond by wxy and z running costs on the sleeper ponds are impressive considering that's closer to size pond most of us have 👍👍

    • @modelshowblog-sj4rq
      @modelshowblog-sj4rq ปีที่แล้ว

      Dispelling the myth? There's a reason for everything. Nothing happens by magic. Do you think that flukes appear out of air? It was likely brought in when he introduced the fish and didn't become an issue until now because of a high water quality and a lot of water in an uncrowded pond. Use logic

    Interested in how the solar panels go , but I don't think they'll make enough power even in summer , maybe help running cost alittle .

    There is a lot more head height on the shower so the pump has to work harder or be bigger. Moving water vertically gets expensive. Is one good thing about the nexus’s,

    Interesting about the costs...I bought a 'smart plug' which allowed me to plug in each item that runs the pond and I can see exactly how much electricity I am using over a 24hr period. Now I get that I am running my small 1500 gallon pond on the 'cheap'. That said my ph and the KH/Alk and the nitrates are all fine and the fish are looking really good. I have a pressure filter, UV and aerator running 24/7 and it's costing me £5.80 a week. I'm pleased I don't have the costs on this indoor pond...even though it is absolutely stunning.

  • @graemeross6970
    @graemeross6970 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My own but smaller indoor pond is still 'work in progress' so I was concerned about the parasites. Any idea how they got into this closed system?

    Could you ask him what his unit rate is for elec? Wonder if he’s on a time of use tariff, would certainly be worth swapping to one once he has the solar and battery. Cheap elec at night to charge batteries to run the pond in the day. In the summer free due to solar charging batteries.

    Very impressive Tim , the distribution of the fluke treatment in the big pond was very impressive. No stirring water with my 8 foot long pan net !
    The guy has patience too I’d have had that pond full of fish , patience certainly is a virtue 😊
    Very impressive scientific set up

  • @davep4589
    @davep4589 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When you look at the pond it really makes you feel how much you’d want one like it, then you see the costs and the desire starts to disappear, i gather that’s at today’s ridiculous rates so I suppose prior to the price increase that would be halved

    • @TimWaddington
      @TimWaddington  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think so. Don’t forget, not many have 8000 gallons. A one filter system for £2 per day isn’t bad

  • @philself1833
    @philself1833 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tim - really informative - thanks - but its not really the “Full” running costs - at a minimum it should include water and food ? (And it would be more useful to say how many KwH and the unit cost he pays so others can calculate for their electric tariffs). Its a cracking pond though

    • @TimWaddington
      @TimWaddington  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it’s 36kw per day. It was more for the electrics because of the current situation

  • @davegreen792
    @davegreen792 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My air-source heater is costing £220 a month at the moment holding the pond at 20 degrees, once the outside temperature drops below 6-7 degrees the air source has to work a lot harder. That's a 12kw AS with an inverter reduce to 1kw maximum usage pre hour.

    • @TimWaddington
